RABuffs  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.3.1
by: Foxlit [More]

RABuffs makes buffing and raid status monitoring easy by displaying information that you are interested in in a compact window. Each watched aspect is represented with a status bar, capable of displaying three different segments - typically divided into buffed, fading soon and expired buffs.

RABuffs helps you buff. Clicking on a bar out of combat automatically picks the right rank of a spell (including group- and class-wide buffs) and casts it on needy group member(s), greatly simplifying the process of buffing the groups assigned to you. Segments of status bars also begin to flash as the buff you're watching is about to expire, warning you in advance of a needed rebuff.

RABuffs is customizable. Queries are not limited to simply checking for buffs - you can also monitor the raid's health and mana, PvP tags, location, cooldowns on various spells, point out who isn't wearing their Onyxia Scale Cloak on a Nefarian raid, and much, much more. You can even create custom queries to watch for buffs and debuffs not included by default. You may also narrow down the group of people a status bar checks - anything from "everyone" to "groups 1-3" to "shamans, druids and warlocks" to "shamans in groups 1-3 and Alice but not Bob" is possible using the easy-to-use Layout configuration interface.

Use /rab to show/hide the RABuffs window while out of combat and /rab config to display the configuration dialog.

Advanced Features

  • Holding down SHIFT while hovering over a bar inverts the information displayed in the tooltip; holding down ALT forces RABuffs to use a different kind of spell to buff (single vs group/class versions).
  • Clicking the Alive bar out of combat will attempt to res a nearby dead group member (if they have not released).
  • RABuffs generates text output for its queries. You can CTRL+Click on a bar to send a message to a customizable chat channel notifying people of the information the bar is displaying to you.
  • You can view the results of queries not present in your RABuffs window by using the /rq slash command (typing /rq brings up short help for the command). It can also be used to send the query result message to a chat channel of your choice.
  • RABuffs transforms queries typed in [square brackets] in chat to query links, allowing you to easily share assignments with your group. If you send a message containing [motw 123], RABuffs will transform it into a clickable link that'll let people add a Mark of the Wild status bar monitoring groups 1-3 to their RABuffs window.
  • RABuffs shares spell cooldown data with your group. You may also use RALight to share the same information. RALight requires no configuration and uses little resources, making it ideal for group members who want to share their spell cooldowns but do not wish to run RABuffs.
  • You can customize the appearance of the RABuffs interface using libSharedMedia (typically bundled with other addons; see also SharedMedia for additional textures). It is generally worthwhile checking RABuffs configuration to adjust the settings to match your preferences.

RABuffs 1.3.1 ("Now your benefactors make their appearance...")
  • Druids can now use the alive query to cast Revive.
  • Added Death Knights support to filters (k).

guess it's time to go with RaidBuffStatus (RBS) even though it looks like arse and does way too much stuff lol.

thanks for all the years of support on RABuffs dude. i remember using this mod on my mage back in the day before raid-wide buffs and even 60minute buffs didn't exist

/salute

Ah I see. I really liked this addon though, the custom queries was amazing imo. Oh well. RaidBuffStatus can do it, just not the custom queries. Thanks for the response though Fox!

Aged code base coupled with the 3.0 changes make it less useful currently, so I'm just working on other things.

I would probably like to write something buff-related eventually, but then it'd probably wouldn't be based on RABuffs.

malformed pattern (missing ']')

Sorry for cross posting but the number of tickets on CurseForge doesn't look very promising .

Bugreport:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installed the addon on my priest.
2. Added the Deathknight and the pet to the Layout Fortitude. Pet has no tooltip but I assume the icon left to self means pet.
3. Created a new Layout for Shadow Protection and added all classes including pets (see above ).
3. The queries for Shadow Protection and Fortitude are empty and the Lua error "malformed pattern" occurs.

What version of the product are you using?
1.3.1.

Do you have an error log of what happened?
From BugSack:malformed pattern (missing ']')malformed pattern (missing ']')

Is there a way to assign more than one query to a bar?

On my mage, for instance, I want a single bar to let me know if I don't have an armor equipped. There are three armors, so I'd have to include three queries, for mage armor, ice armor, and molten armor.

Not sure how the click-bar-to-buff aspect would work in this situation...

Druid Rebirth: Reagent is incorrectly listed in RABuffs_data.lua.
Correct reagent for top level rebirth is item #44614 (reg=44614.) Druids if rebirth says "no reagents" this is the fix.
Also "talentmax" for Mark/Gift of the Wild is now only 2.

Hopefully I can get this to replace ZOMGBuffs, if I can get it to do what I want.

But whilst I suss things our, will Dalaran Brilliance and Focus Magic be added for mages (and presumably all the other newer things)?

Looking good so far...

I get the following error. Everything appears to still work correctly otherwise.

Error: bad argument #1 to 'match' (string expected, got nil)
AddOn: RABuffs
File: RABuffs_data.lua
Line: 49
Count: Infinite

While having the most recent version, there was an error. The file I had was _vui.lua as opposed to .vui.lua

Confirmed, using the latest version removing this line from the RABuffs.vui.lua has fixed RABuffs for me. Huzzah!!

EDIT: Mostly. It seems that the rez feature still doesn't work. It only picks up on me being in the party and won't resurrect anyone else.
