OPie  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lime 6
by: Foxlit [More]

OPie is a radial action-binding addon: it lets you group actions into rings which appear when you hold down a keyboard or mouse binding. When you release the binding, OPie will perform an action based on where your mouse cursor is.

Use OPie to reduce the amount of clutter on your action bars: rings can contain your abilities, items, professions, battle pets, equipment sets, macros, and raid or world markers. Some rings for common class abilities and professions are included, as is a special quest items ring which automatically makes all of your quest and quest-starting items easily accessible. Other addons may add additional rings; for example, Spade uses OPie rings to let you chose the seeds you want to plant on your farm.

Download OPie today; configure to your liking (/opie), and customize your rings (/opie rings). For more details, see the OPie Guide, the screenshots here, or a YouTube video of OPie in action.

Ring snapshots and tutorial/gameplay videos
You can create snapshots of your custom rings to share with other players; if you like, you can post them in the comments section on this page. Likewise, if you've created a video showing how you use OPie, I would very much like to hear about it.

Bug reports and feature requests
If you encounter any problems while using OPie, or think of useful functionality to add to OPie, use the OPie ticket tracker if possible, or leave a comment here.

# OPie Lime #
* You can now snapshot your custom OPie rings to share them with other players.
* Changes made in OPie configuration panels are now applied immediately (outside of combat lockdown), and can always be undone entirely by clicking Cancel.
* New, configurable "Selected slice (keep ring open)" binding allows you to use the currently-selected slice without closing the ring (Bindings → Slice Bindings).
* Slices can now be hidden based on a macro conditional evaluated when the ring is opened.
* Improved support for spells with automatically recharging charges, e.g. Roll.
When some, but not all, charges have been expended, OPie displays a semi-transparent cooldown spiral and a spinning spark around the slice's border to indicate the time remaining until the next charge is available.
Added a separate "Show recharge numbers" option to display time until next charge is available as a number.
* You can now adjust the position at which OPie rings are displayed through the configuration UI.
* An Extra Action Button slice can now be added to custom rings.
* OPie can now automatically select matching slice colors based on slice icons.
* The Quest Items ring now includes the Cooking School Bell and Blingtron 4000 if you have not yet completed those daily quests today.
* Cooldowns are now displayed for battle pet slices.
* Slices that are unusable due to being out of range now have a red stripe in the upper left corner of the icon.
* Slices that are unusable due to a lack of resources now have a blue stripe in the upper left corner of the icon.

## Changes ##
* Custom rings limited to other classes or characters can now be modified through the Custom Rings options panel (Inactive rings sub-menu).
* Changing a ring's binding through the Custom Rings configuration panel now changes both the default and active profile's binding for the ring.
* Ability names in custom OPie macros are automatically converted into spell links when the macro is saved.
You can temporarily revert links to text representations by right-clicking or alt-right-clicking them.
* Many bundled rings have been updated.
* Improved custom macro parser to support {{spell:id}} tags in castsequence/castrandom macros, /cast !{{spell:id}} syntax, and preserve empty clauses.
* Improved default mount detection for {{mount:ground}} and {{mount:air}} tags in OPie macros.
* Deleting a ring now also deletes the related per-ring options.
* Removed the option to display an icon at the center of an OPie ring.
* Removed Challenger's Paths ring.
* Masque is no longer supported.
* The various overlay dialogs now shroud OPie configuration panels from mouse wheel events.
* This update changes slices using the pre-Lime default slice color (e5ff00) to use icon-dependent colors.
* Non-/cast-like custom macros are now always considered usable.
* Unusable slices are now dimmed rather than faded.

## Bug fixes ##
* Fixed an error that occurred when navigating away from slice detail view when the macro box is focused and modified.
* Fixed an error that occurred when the Unbind button was clicked.
* Fixed an error that occurred when resetting per-slice bindings for a specific ring to default values.
* Fixed an error that occurred during slice selection when ring scale was set to low values.
* Fixed an issue preventing unbinding a ring from releasing the binding to other rings.
* Fixed an issue preventing correct macro feedback for /castsequence macros with a single spell and a specified reset condition.
* Fixed an issue causing the ring contents column in the custom ring configuration panel to not be updated correctly when slices were deleted under some circumstances.
* Fixed an issue causing all battle pets to appear twice in the battle pet slice category in Patch 5.2.
* Fixed a graphical issue in the cooldown animation.
* Fixed an issue causing nested ring slices to overlap in some circumstances.
* Items on cooldown are no longer indicated as usable.
* Fixed an issue causing the "Show recharge numbers" option to be ignored (in favor of "Show cooldown numbers") when performing Spinning Crane Kick.
* Fixed an error that occurred when saving custom macros while playing a class that has a spell flyout ability.
* Fixed an issue preventing nested ring rotation from being saved.
* Corrected slice icon display for non-active /cast {{spell:id}}-like macros in the custom rings panel.
* Fixed an issue preventing OPie slash commands from opening correct configuration panels on first use in Patch 5.3.
* The "Make rings top-most" option is no longer disabled when "Activate on left click" option is unchecked.
* Fixed an issue preventing the overlay dialog used in the option panels from being cleared correctly in some circumstances.
* Fixed an issue causing option panel descriptions to be truncated incorrectly.
* Fixed incorrect ability out-of-range feedback for self-cast abilities and actions.

Do not ALT+F4 out of World of Warcraft -- variables are not saved if you do not exit the game through its interface, so any changes you've made during the session you've just ALT+F4'ed would be gone.

Firstly wanted to say I love this mod!

But I have a problem: Twice now my custom rings and keybinds all just disappeared. Both times, I had disconnected and Alt+F4'ed out of the client if that's any help. Anyone else having this problem at all?

The ring glows if you can use an ability now, it does not glow if you lack energy/mana/rage to do so; "not enough energy" conditions have been relayed for most correctly detected actions in all versions, so let's chalk that up to the "blind" option. I do not, at present, have any plans to add additional resource indication.

Warlock Stone ID's

On my warlock only the health stone and the ritual of souls worked with the default ring. False Spell-ID's were the reason.

Here are the correct ID's (tested ingame):
Soulstone: 693
Firestone: 6366
Spellstone: 2362

Actually, #showtooltip works already, as long as what you're showing is an item or a spell. Scroll back to find more planned changes regarding macro indication in the future.

Druid travel form isn't working properly.
That stems from the macro implementation and is unlikely to be changed. If you'd like to exit travel form, perform an action that requires humanoid form.

But would you PLEASE add a function that lets us skin the Buttons with ButtonFacade/CyCircled and scale the whole thing? Would be great!
And alpha settings would be nice, too.
There's discussion of skinning further back. What you're probably referring to alpha isn't actually a real alpha setting, but rather the way icons are composited onto the world frame (rendering black as transparent).

-An option to adjust the initial opacity of the ring. Perhaps I'm a little blind, but in some situations and on some backgrounds the ring is rather hard to see until I mouseover a direction.
-An option to have the rings appear on a designated "anchor" somehwhere on the screen -- not just in the middle or on your mouse.
-An option to edit the stock rings (like someone else mentioned, I had to create my own Druid Forms rings so that I could add Travel Form to it).
-An option to adjust the size of the icons, or the rings themselves. Personally, I like the size it is now, but I feel other people may want to make theirs bigger or smaller depending on their screen resolution.
-An option to show/hide the name of the spell you're mousing over. A small thing, but for some it may be significant.
The "nothing is selected" level of opacity is intended to stay out of your way rather than allow you to browse for what you want to do - though that may end up user-adjustable in the future. Custom ring positions are possible, but require more per-ring configuration than is currently implemented. The majority of non-editable bundled rings will likely remain uneditable - they usually incorporate more logic than simple spell/item/macro rings allow. You can turn off the action caption (spell/item name) through OPie settings.

- A Mana/Rage/Energy cost somewhere around the ability icon or bellow the ability name.
Since those are usually constant, they're not currently displayed. It may end up being an option in the future.

My only other suggestion for this mod would be to allow people to create a ring, that opens other rings, like sub categories.

On that note, if you put a macro into the ring that is written with mouse1 mouse2 clicks in mind, you cant activate a mouse 2 click /shrug minor thing, obviously a person would need to redesign the macros with Opie in mind.
There are limits to the amount of logic secure templates allow for this, so opening and closing other rings in a meaningful manner will probably not happen. Button modifiers are not supported at all: OPie uses virtual, rather than real buttons, so checking for specific ones in macros will fail.

This is implemented in the next release; no amount of #trickery is going to make it work until then.

Exclamation Spells with reagents, or consumable items

I've been screwing around with making my own native macros, actual wow macros, .lua edits / looking to figure out how to make this work, but either threw me being stupid or blind i cant find how to do this, what I would love oh so very much is for spells with reagents, or consumable items to display the amounts of reagents / charges I have left, tried using #show wow macros, no good tried doing #opcap #show <item name> that didn't work either any help would be lovely... cheers

Great mod, really neet thing to play with, as you say its fantastic for stuff your dont use often among many others. I think Malazee hit most of my suggestions right on the head.

I did find one minor annoying bug though, if you change the rotation of the ring, and then chang it back to 0, it does NOT reset to 0 but stays at whatever you moved it to last time, closest you can get it back to 0 is the 15 rotation.

My only other suggestion for this mod would be to allow people to create a ring, that opens other rings, like sub categories. I'm sure that would be alot of work though, and many of the other suggestions are probably easier to do and actually more needed (like the base opacity of the icons)

EDIT: I did find another bug, if you open a ring, and then left click on an icon on the ring, the ring stays open (and does not cast the icon u clicked) you have to press your bind again to close/cast from the ring

On that note, if you put a macro into the ring that is written with mouse1 mouse2 clicks in mind, you cant activate a mouse 2 click /shrug minor thing, obviously a person would need to redesign the macros with Opie in mind.

EDIT2:

2008/07/14 19:41:12-642-x3]: OPie\Meta\RingKeeperConfig.lua:308: bad argument #1 to 'format' (string expected, got nil)
OPie\Meta\RingKeeperConfig.lua:308: in function <Interface\AddOns\OPie\Meta\RingKeeperConfig.lua:302>
OPie\Meta\RingKeeperConfig.lua:334: in function <Interface\AddOns\OPie\Meta\RingKeeperConfig.lua:313>

---

Ok, i got this trickily. I put in my ring the create soulstone spell from the spell book, and the soulstone item from my bags, I then tried to see if i could use the rings custom macro to make a mouse1 mouse2 macro, to do those 2 things, mouse 2 worked, but mouse 1 did not (kept trying to bandage me for some reason >.>) so i deleted it from the ring, and then i got that error.

Just a small feature request:
- A Mana/Rage/Energy cost somewhere around the ability icon or bellow the ability name.

Thumbs up Awesome mod!

I integrated this addon into my usual setup almost immediately after hearing about it. Just as the video shows, it's obviously an amazing tool for Druids, and I can say that it's almost equally awesome for Hunter Aspects, Traps and Tracking. It's a WONDERFUL space saver.

I also use OPie for three separate rings on my raiding priest: Buffs, Raid Consumables, and Pots (which also has my healthstone macro and PvP water). It's a very powerful mod and I can think of no limit on potential uses for it!

I understand the mod is in Beta, and so there are many things yet to be integrated, and I have a few suggestions that I feel would make the mod slightly more complete:

Druid travel form isn't working properly. If I move my mouse over it, oPie casts it but when I do the same again it just casts travel form again instead of canceling it. It's a bit annoying to first change into cat or bear form and then cancel them. It's the same problem with Aquatic form.

Added after further testing: I've seem to have identified the problem I was having. After double checking all OPie keybinds were not bound to other actions and reapplying the keybinds to OPie it seems to function without the earlier problems. So if anyone else has similair problems, check your keybindings to make sure some obscure function you've never heard of isn't by default bound to the one you want to use for OPie.
