OneBag3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v3.11.1
by: Kaelten [More]

OneBag3 is part of a long line of bag replacements for the default game bags that will combine all of your bags into one frame.

OneBag has a long history of minimalism and OneBag3 will continue to uphold the standard of easy of use and simplicity it's predecessors set. Like the earlier versions, OneBag3 will continue to offer powerful options for those who wish to delve a little deeper.

Also in the vein of earlier iterations I've kept to the philosophy of doing as little work as possible, as a result the code base is very small, and most of it is in the OneCore library. As of the time of writing there are only 268 lines of code unique to OneBag3, and only 1804 lines of code in OneCore itself. LoC is a horrible stat in general, but it's fun none the less, and I cheat horribly since I build off the powerful Ace3 libraries.

Features

  • Now with Search
  • Combines all of your bags into one.
  • Customizable number of columns
  • Inherent support for addons that interact with the default bags
  • Color coded slots by item rarity or bag type
  • Will automatically open and close for you when visiting the auction house, bank, mailbox, merchant or when trading with another player.
  • Allows only certain bags to be displayed, either by slot or type
  • Custom bag bar which will highlight it's associated slots on mouseover. This highlighting can be locked in place by clicking.
  • Customizable scale, background color, alpha, and more.
  • Clean and powerful graphical configuration
  • Exposes WoW's built in bag sorting

Really nice bag addon finally. But unfortunatelly missing two things. First, can you make the number of columns start with 4 and not 5, so for some of use that are used to having 4 this is not a problem

And second, for hunters, i don't really wanna show my quiver when i open the bags, which you have enabled, but if i then press on by quiver on the bag bar (let's say orginal bag bar from blizzard ui) the whole bag opens up instead of just the quiver (cus when you go buy arrows you wanna know how many slots are there to fill).

Hope you can accomodate those 2 things, and keep up the good work.

Tip Buddy Error

Although my previous version of OneBag 2.0 did not have this error (2.0.6026), the most recent download (2.0.9615) causes an error with Tip Buddy. The error occurs just after I open the OneBag Menu as soon as I hover the mouse over any of the menu items. The exact text of the error message follows:

Interface/AddOns/TipBuddy/TipBuddy.lua:1891: attempt to concatenate a nil value

Clicking "Okay" will clear the error until I attempt to hover over another menu item (at which point it returns). This error does not appear to impede the function of the OneBag Menu options (i.e., I can still select options and make changes as normal if I ignore the box until I'm done).

Visiting the TipBuddy forums led me to belive that you may not be properly defining some aspect of your tooltips for the menu items. The author of TipBuddy indicated that, where past versions couldn't handle undefined tooltip values (as opposed to a "no tooltip" value), the present version handles them by creating a tooltip first and then inserting the value afterwards. The result is, with the new version of Tip Buddy, I now get an empty tooltip above the OneBag window while browsing menu options. Since reinstalling the older version of OneBag eliminates the error entirely, there may be some small change you can effect on the current version to bring it back to full functionality with Tip Buddy.

Hmm

There is still issues with the icons not showing up for the bag items sometimes. In order for them to show you have to over your mouse over then close and open the bag again. I think it's an issue with the refreshing of the bags.

Also could you add the ability to prevent the bags from poping up on certain occasions that a user specifies. Like at a trade npc , auction house, etc...

Smile Issues with OneBag and SCT

Hokay, first of all, let me say that I LOVE the onebag mod, makes life so much easier.

I run a number of mods, but after installing the latest OneBag mod, I get an error

Interface\OneView\OneView.lua:572: attempt to call global `print' a nil value

This also disables my SCT/SCTD mods.

Is there a fix for this? I'm not overfussed if there isnt, I dont really have THAT much of a need to view my other toons inventories/banks etc. But it would be handy...

Thanks

If you are, you can open up bags_and_merchants.lua and edit line 33 to be

I'll try that. Thanks for the tip.

Re: New Feature...

Hey, Kaelten, I've always loved Onebag, since before you even took over the addon... But lately I've been using Discords bag mod for one reason really...

It has this feature where I can stack multiple items into one slot viewable... For example instead of having 25 slots for shards, it'll show only 1 slot with 25 shards in it, etc... Is there a way that you could add this to OneBag? It would be an extraoridinary feature.. Of course it would have to be relatively easy to switch between combined and uncombined inventories as there are times where we must see each slot individually. Could you think it over? I don't know how difficult this would be to add, but a menu option for it would much appeal to at least myself.

Thanks in advance... And good work on the addon, it's fantastic!
I don't know much about lua coding myself but from what I understand from the release notes, Kaelten coded the module in such a way that it doesn't replace the original bag slots, it just changes the way we view them... I think - from my understanding - that coding the module in such a way to enable stacking of individual slots would make the module much more bloated than what Kaelten intended, making it more memory intensive and causing it to compete with inventory managers that he never intended to compete with in the first place. Of course, I could be wrong - I'm not a mindreader and I have virtually no knowlege of lua coding - but I hope that answers your question.

I don't know if it's a conflict with another mod, but since updating to newest OneBag version, when I open up bank bags, I get both a window with all bags and then seperate individual windows for each bank bag. When I open up character bags, I get the single "one bag". Again, the duplicate of all-in-one window and seperate individual bags only occurs with bank bags. Any ideas?

If my problem is unique, is there a place I can download a previous version of OneBag? I never had any problems until this newest version (Current Version: 2.0.$Revision: 8412 $)., downloaded from http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1886 . I did not change any other mods at the time that I added this new version.

Is it a possible problem with Ace? I see that OneBag has not required dependancies, but have seen references to Ace 2. I know other mods I use require Ace (version 1.3.1) installed. Is the problem perhaps due to having 2 versions maybe?

Thank you.

I had a bit of a problem with OneView. I have several toons on each of three realms. I was using EngBags 1.38, and wanted to try the newest OneBags. I disabled EngBags and installed OneBag. On two of the realms, no problem to speak of. On the third realm, afer I opened inventory and visited the bank, OneView displayed the backpack slots as empty even though there are items in the slots. The other bags all seem to display as they should. The backpack contents do display in the OneBag window.

Nothing I tried helped, until I re-enabled EngBags. Then OneView displayed everything normally. I disabled EngBags again and everything still works.

please add functionality to be able to click a slot in the onebag interface and bring it to the front of all other windows, like allinoneinventory does. do this and you'll be #1!

Error in OneView.lua on line 572. Unknown command Print().
--print(server)

I commented it out and it worked great. ^^
