Broker Reincarnation  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.1.0.0
by: Phanx [More]

I am no longer developing or maintaining World of Warcraft addons. I haven't played in years, and don't have the time or interest to continue working on addons for a game I don't play anymore. If you are an addon author interested in continuing one of my addons, please see https://phanx.net/addons/. If you are an addon user, sorry, but there won't be any more fixes or updates from me.
Monitor your Reincarnation cooldown on your DataBroker display.

Features
  • Shows your Reincarnation cooldown on your DataBroker display
  • Tells you when Reincarnation comes off cooldown
  • Remembers the date and time you last used Reincarnation
  • Remembers how many times in total you've used Reincarnation
  • Right-click for options
Need a DataBroker display? Try Bazooka for an info bar, StatBlockCore for individual info boxes, or Barrel for minimap icons.

This addon was previously called AnkhUp. However, the Reincarnation ability has not required ankhs or any other reagents in quite some time, and the addon's feature-set has diminished accordingly; this new name more accurately reflects its current purpose and functionality.
Feedback
Post a ticket on GitHub or post a comment on this page. If you are reporting a bug, please read this first. If you are requesting a feature, be aware that I consider this addon to be complete, and will probably not add any new features.
Language Support
Works in all languages. Translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 正體中文. You can add or update translations for any language on the CurseForge project page.
History & Credits
Broker: Reincarnation was previously named AnkhUp, and before that, Ankh Cooldown Timer, which was originally written by Starforce of Shattered Hand (EU).

Talents Not Being Read

I downloaded this version today. I deleted all related files, including those found in the WTF directories and installed it. This version does not read my 40-minute talent correctly. It always reports 60 minutes.

Also, after installing this and doing a "/act version" it reports 1.7.1, the readme file reports 1.8.0 and the ZIP file is called 1.8.1.

Will this stuff be fixed?

The version discrepancies is just me forgetting to update the number. The name of the ZIP file is always the correct version. I'll get the other places up to speed next update.

I responded to the other issue in the bug report, but I'll repeat here in case you don't check there, and in case others are having the same issue... please use the bug report page for followup. What language client are you playing under? I've tested in both WoW 2.0 and TBC beta, English clients, and it's correctly detecting my Improved Reincarnation and showing me a 40-minute cooldown, so I'm going to need some help figuring out why it's not detecting yours.

It's working, but after downloading the version from 12/9/06 at 2am-ish...I keep getting this error message that won't go away:

Interface\Addons\AnkhCooldownTimer\AnkhCooldownTimer.lua:343: attempt to concatenate global 'cooldownText' (a nil value)

Help!

I am using the English version. I have tried deleting everything having to do with Ankh Cooldown and it still shows 60 minutes. I installed Titan panel for the first time today and associated Ankh Cooldown with Titan and it also shows 60 minutes. I am not sure why it isn't reading my talent modifiers. If I go into the talent tree, it definitely shows 40 minutes there.

Anything else I should look at?

Hmm. I'm at a bit of a loss... I've tried it on both of my shamans, one with Improved Reincarnation, the other without, and got the correct ability cooldown shown on both. I even respecced (on the TBC beta realm), and got the correct ability cooldown shown with no talent points, one talent point, and two talent points in Improved Reincarntion.

It's remotely possible there is a conflict with another addon. Do you still get the wrong ability cooldown when Ankh Cooldown Timer is the only addon enabled? If not (you only get the wrong cooldown when other addons are enabled), what other addons are you using?

Have you considered porting this to Fubar? I use to use this but am forced to search for another version that is Fubar compatible.

I am using KTM Threatmeter, CTRaidAssist, LaVendetta, Clearfont, and Outfitter. Strangely enough I kept playing WoW and would check with Ankh Cooldown Timer occasionally and it eventually read 40 minutes. I don't know if it took me dying to get it to register properly or not...but after about 2 hours of playing it was correct. Sorry for the trouble.

Are you really, really, really sure you have the latest version? :P ... I had that problem when I first updated for 2.0 but fixed it (for me, anyway o.O) in 1.8.1. If you're still getting it, I'm not sure why... what does it say if you log out, disable all other addons, and log back in? If it's still giving you a wrong number, try these things:
1. opening and closing your spellbook,
2. unequipping and equipping something,
3. doing /console reloadui
and see if any of them force it to scan and get the right cooldown. It should do it when you log in, though... but if any of those get it working that'll at least help me track down where the problem is.

There's already a FuBar port. It's on this site as "FuBar - AnkhTimerFu", although the version here hasn't been updated. You can get an updated 2.0 version on http://www.wowace.com/files/

However, I am currently working on a full rewrite of Ankh Cooldown Timer, and may see about including a simple FuBar display along with the Titan display.

It seems that if I login and wait a couple of minutes it now properly shows 40 minutes. The issue I have now is not a huge one, but just something to ask you about. Even though I have reincarnated several times, it always shows NA as the last time I reincarnated. No matter how many times I do it, it always shows that I haven't. Again, not a big deal, but thought I'd ask.

According to the ZIP and the .TXT file within it, I am using version 1.8.2

The GUI window does not remember to hide itself after a console reload, probably a zone shift too.

Please upgrade to version 2.0. The addon's been completely rewritten since 1.8.2. You should get an AnkhCooldownTimer-2.0.0.zip file, and the only text file inside should be Readme.txt, which does not contain a version number (apart from the changelog). The only file which contains a current version number is the .TOC file.

biotechnics:
I'm about 500% sure that problem was fixed in beta versions prior to the release of 2.0... maybe I uploaded the wrong file, I'll take a look.

FuBar support is on my to-do list, but isn't really a high priority at the moment, as I'm a bit busy getting my characters to 70.

biotechnics:
Yeah, I just checked the file posted here vs. my local file in which the reappearing-GUI problem has been fixed, and they're the same. So, all I can say is, try deleting your local copy and redownloading. In an early beta of version 2.0 there was an issue where hiding the GUI would only hide the frame, not save the choice, so every time you saw a loading screen it would forget you'd hidden it, but it is saving the choice in a saved variable now.

This new version works perfectly for me now. Proper cooldown reading (with talent points) and now fully records when I last reincarnated. It also works perfectly under Titan.

Thanks!
