Fortress  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1.5
by: Borlox [More]

Fortress is a display addon for LDB data feeds. It shows each plugin as a block, which is freely movable and can stick to other blocks. Blocks can be unstuck by holding the ctrl-key while dragging them.

Commands:
Use /fortress or /ft to open the configuration (also accessible via Main Menu -> Interface -> Addons -> Fortress).

Configuration:
The configuration has two parts: The master settings and the individual plugin settings. At first each option is controlled by the master settings and therefore it has the same effect for each plugin. Once you change something individually for one plugin, this setting is no longer controlled by the master mode (for this plugin).
You can select the mode for each option at the "Select master" tab in each plugin's config screen.

Good Morning! First of all, thanks alot for this great addon, I do appreciate it.
I've just downloaded latest Fortress verion (1.11.2) with the new Icon and Text alignment feature and I notice a undesired (well, in my opinion of course) behaviour:
if I hide the block icon on a per-block basis, the "space" used by the icon itself is still being counted and I have a lot of blank space in between the text.
Any chance to fix this?

Thanks!

Ok, I think posting one more time. A clear post.

Fortress start menu is like: icon is an arrow, text is fortress.
when clicked it would reveal/show all modules that were attached onto the fortress block then click the fortress block to make it minimize again.

Also another thing that would be pretty nifty is setting the scale of icons within the box (so there's less black/dead space between the icon's border and the block's border). Very cool for blocks that you only want to show icons.

One last note, sometimes when attaching blocks to one another and then putting more blocks or a set of blocks onto the first set it'll snap align weird like the second block(s) would not align to the right along the first group.

I probably talk too much, but it's better to toss it all out imo. Personally I don't mind how long it takes, just throwing out some ideas and suggestions.

And again, thanks for the great addon, because it is indeed a very well made addon.

A small little thing about the tooltips. When I use a vertical layout the tooltips cover up the other blocks. Also, if I have blocks in the middle of my screen some tooltips show on top while some show below.

So in short,
tooltip anchor choice top, bottom, left, right
and sub categories left, right, middle

p.s. you can ignore my earlier post, I've found a workaround!

First off thanks for a fantastic addon.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a block for fortress show and then when I'd hover over the fortress block it'll show the other blocks I linked together when I have those blocks (minus fortress's block) on the hide all on mouse out checked. Kind of like a windows start menu. That would be pretty awesome!

Someone already mentioned alignment and icon location (I think). Perhaps also allowing us to put some quantifiable space between the icon and the text would be a nifty addition.

Thanks again for the addon, just tossing a few ideas out.

Is it possible to have more specific control of the block width? Currently it steps by whatever amount and I can't seem a way to change it to a specific number. Something like being able to manually enter a number, or use a mouse scroll wheel to move by 1 instead of wahtever it is now on dragging would be nice

id like to second all these feature requests, mostly ^^^that one^^^

some way to get a solid bar across the top w/o setting the width of one of the plugins to 50 billion, and then the alignment too.

Feature Request

Just wanted to ask for a feature request:

Currently, you have the option to "Hide when in combat" - what I'd like is an option for the exact opposite. "Hide when NOT in combat"

I specifically use picoDPS and I don't want it to be seen on screen unless I'm in combat.

thanks,
vpr

Talking Several feature requests

I would like to request the following features...

1. The ability to adjust icon sizes.
2. The ability to adjust border size/thickness.
3. The ability to create blank buttons (for spacing/layout purposes).
4. The ability to change the alignment (left/right/center) of the data on the button. Currently, items with icons are left aligned, and text only is centered.
5. It would be awesome if some of the textures could be made available as borders instead - for example, the Elite and Rare dragon logos.

Reason for edit: Added more items.

Ive just noticed that I cannot RE-Enable add ons once they are disabled. The Settings tab is disabled. The Select master tab is still enabled, but without Settings, there is no way to turn a plug in back on.

There are no error messages.

Not at the moment. The display addon does not always have full control over the tooltip, so it would be impossible to implement for all plugins. But maybe I'll add more tooltip options in a later version.

I cannot reproduce this bug. Is there any error message or something like that?
