Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

SBF 3.2 with clickable buffs
Go here: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...o.php?id=12524

+ Added option in the spells tab to show/not show buffs by spellID
+ Added options in the global tab to show default buff frame and default enchant frame
+ SBFOptions will now make the background for names visible when configuring to help you not overlap the icons when positioning (which can cause clicks on icons to not register)

Version 3.1.23
+ Fix an error when tracking is enabled

Version 3.1.22

+ You should now be able to click off player buffs
+ Fixed problems with the colour picker
+ You can now remove/edit filters

Version 3.1.9
* Fixed an error when checking castable status (SBFUtil line 86)

Version 3.1.8
* Fixed an error where size limited frames get the wrong buffs
* Some small fixes for ButtonFacade. Some skins will still not get border colours. I've sent a message to StormFX to see if there's something I am missing or if it's just an inconsistency with some BF skins
* Added the ability for users to add custom sounds for expiry warnings. See SatrinaBuffFrame/Media/SBFSounds.lua for directions
* When changing SBF profiles, the list of frames shown in ButtonFacade setup will update correctly

Version 3.1.7
3.1.7 is version bookkeeping to keep in sync with a massive fubar I had at Curse

* You can now reset the profile for the current character by using /sbf reset

Version 3.1.5
* TOC version has been updated for WoW 3.1
* SBF will no longer allow you to try and flow buffs for different units. (There's no way to make that work without a major code revamp)
* Buff and Name help in non-English localisations has been updated with the current English version. Translators will need to re-translate them
* ha filters should behave a little bit better now
* Vehicle buff frames will update and clear when you exit a vehicle
* Hopefully (hopefully!) the overextending bar thing is gone finally.

* Shaman weapon imbues should not get moved into frames using the to filter any more
* Cooldown sweeps should not flicker in combat now
* Cooldown sweeps should not occasionally cause an error

Version 3.1.1

* Added vehicle to the list of units for buff frames on the general tab

Version 3.1.0
* Filters now work completely for any unit

Just wanted to point out that the "thick black border" problem can -usually- be resolved by starting a new profile from scratch... however I dont think this is really an option most of us want to hear.

I'm having this same issue with r filter (r>300 and r<300 for two different blacklist frames). Sorting options don't seem to have any effect while these filters are active, the ordering just goes funky and buffs reorder themselves at the drop of a hat.

d and D seem to be okay, just r and R are broken.

(edit) I'm also having a different issue with ButtonFacade Caith: my debuff borders don't seem to want to color themselves based on type anymore no matter what SBF options I have set. Anyone have a solution? I already did the SBFButtonFacade fix.

Any way to fix rogue poison buffs showing up as 0 time when logging into the game sometimes, even though there may be like 40 minutes left?

And is there any word on when we might see a new version?

Hi people!

As always, March is an avalanche of work for me and nobody hears from me for those four weeks. Sorry for not giving warning beforehand! I will be finishing up stuff for a week or two, so I will not be around much to answer questions for a bit just yet. Many thanks to the experienced SBF users who answer people's questions when I am not around. It's much appreciated!

I will try my best to get an update for SBF 3.1 for the current problems (BF, etc.), but it's unlikely that I will get a chance to do any work on it until next weekend. Sorry for the delay!

I'll be starting coding on SBF 3.2 later this month!

I'm not sure if I've missed the option somewhere but is there anyway to change the anchor of the tooltip when mousing over the buff frames? Currently It appears it is set to appear above the buff but if the buff frame is located at the top of the screen then the tooltip often obscures the buff being moused over.

Ok, somewhat long, somewhat involved, wholly understandable issue. And it might not even be an issue, might just be a flat out feature request :P

Here's what I'm trying to do.

I play multiple toons in multiple roles. Paladin (Prot / ret / holy), Druid (feral tank / feral dps / resto), Priest (Shadow / Disc / Holy), Rogue, and Mage. As complicated as it sounds, what I'm trying to do it make one universal profile to fit all of the above. I'm aware that it may seem a bit bloated and somewhat unreasonable. All that said and done, my specific question is a little more down to earth.

What I'm trying to do is write a filter for a specific class or pair of classes. However, with buffs and debuffs being provided for and by multiple classes, this gets tricky. For example, Mangle + Trauma. Now, for my druid, at the moment, I've written the following filter:

Code:
n=Mangle&c
Not very involved. So basically, when I'm on my druid, it'll show mangles on my target. However, it won't show trauma. So, then I write the following filter:

Code:
n=Trauma
Yaaaaay. It works, right? Not so much. Since mangle and trauma are mutually exclusive, it will show me them on my druid. But, lets say I'm on my paladin. I don't care whether or not mangle or trauma are up, and i definitely don't want them in that specific frame. Mangle doesn't show up, because it's restricted by class. However, Trauma ISN'T restricted by class, so it still shows up.

Basically, what I'm asking is, is there any way to restrict which buffs/debuffs show up within a given frame by either 1) writing something into the filters so that they only show up for a specific class OR 2) designate specific buffs/debuffs to only apply to a specific character/class?

(tldr): Can i make it so mangle/trauma only show up on my druid without using profiles? There's multiple buffs like this, just wondering how to filter them properly.

ButtonFacade issue

Hey there and first of all thanks for writing this awesome add-on.

I'm using SBF with ButtonFacade and the skin "Elegance: Dark" (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...eElegance.html). The problem is, my debuffs are not getting their borders colored.

I have checked the option "Don't show SBF icon borders" (and left "Don't color ButtonFacade borders" unchecked of course) like suggested somewhere around the comments here but still no luck. I also checked that the ButtonFacade skin i'm using actually provides a "normal" layer .tga (like suggested on SBF official site) but also no luck

Can you give me any help/clue about what might be causing this problem?

Thanks very much in advance!

/cheers

Looking forward to v3.2 and wondering if it's possible to assign custom colors to bars for specific buffs/debuffs for self and target.

Looking forward to 3.2 version. I dropped this to use Unit frame auras, but it just doesn't compare. I'm considering picking this back up and tweaking with it.

About the "black borders" issue with SBF and BF...

It seems that SBF is interpreting the "brightness" of the normal color setting from within BF in a different manner than other addons such as Dominos and OPie. You get the same color visual effect on the addons themselves, but achieve this by using different settings. Im not familiar with the terms, so I'll just post an SS of what I was adjusting.

http://i44.tinypic.com/15g2ki9.jpg the slider circled in red is what i had to adjust to get the BF borders looking normal on SBF, whereas this is not needed with Dominos/Opie.

While this does restore the prior look, it still does not adress why creating a fresh SBF profile from scratch does not have this problem.

I already tried several times creating fresh SBF profiles and I always keep seeing this problem. Only way to make SBF color the debuff borders is to go into BF options and change the color of the "normal" layer of the BF skin to full white and alpha. But of course, this changes the BF skin itself from black to white, which is not intended... It's supposed to be a black skin :P

I read somewhere that newer versions of BF seem to fix the API used by others add-ons to color a skin's borders (apparently fixes some blend issues which might be what is causing the problem with black bordered skins like the one i'm using).

Can we expect an update of the SBF code to use this new API ?

Thanks a lot again for your time and work!

:S

I can't figure out what's wrong. I read the entire SBF site and all the comments from the date of the last update but could find only one other person who reported this issue. He commented here once and never said anything again.

I am unable to use right click to dismiss buffs. I don't have any of the "disable right click" boxes checked and I have checked the "activate mouse" box for the Names tab. I've tried just loading SBF and the options to see if there was a conflict with another mod but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions?

In other news, I can type /cancelaura Fill-In-The-Blank in record time.

For those having Button Facade issues, I've found that I have to go into button facade itself and select a different border, then go back to the one I was using, for it to take effect.
