Master Loot Reminder

Version: 1.3a
by: CBruyland [More]

I've taken over this addon from xbjim, a new version compatible with version 2.4 will be released very soon!

use /mlr enable to turn it on/off.

A popup will show when you TARGET a boss defined by "Babble-Boss" and are the party/raid leader. it will ask if you would like to "Set yourself as the Master Looter".

----------------------------------------------
v1.3a changes:

- udpated toc to 2.1
- updated Ace2 (r44693) and Babble-Boss-2.2 (44228) libs.

* if you would like to keep those libs updated you can always get them at the Ace site itself or here on wowinterface:

-- Ace2 on wowace: http://files.wowace.com/Ace2/Ace2.zip
-- BabbleLib on wowace: http://files.wowace.com/Babble-2.2/Babble-2.2.zip

-- Ace2 on wowinterface: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info5119-Ace2.html
-- BabbleLib on wowinterface: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4809-BabbleLib.html

v1.3 changes:

- 2 types of ignore lists now: session and permanent
- permanent is saved "forever" (you can del/list/reset)
- session is until you logout/reloadui
- when clicking NO on popup, boss name is added to SESSION ignore
- you can use /mlr ignoretarget with a boss targeted to add them to permanent ignore list

new slash commands:

/mlr signore - view session list options
/mlr signore list - view session ignore list
/mlr signore del [name] - del name from session ignore list
/mlr signore reset - reset session ignore list

/mlr pignore - view permanent list options
/mlr pignore list - view permanent ignore list
/mlr pignore del [name] - del name from permanent ignore list
/mlr pignore reset - reset permanent ignore list

/mlr ignoretarget - adds current target to PERMANENT ignore list

v1.2 changes:

- also checks target's target for boss
- if you decide not to set ML, adds boss to ignore list
- new slash commands:

/mlr IgnoreList - view ignore list
/mlr IgnoreDel [name] - delete name from ignore list
/mlr IgnoreReset - clears ignore list

/mlr Type [1|2|3] - only set ML when in 1=party, 2=raid, 3=both.

v1.1 changes:

- now uses "Babble-Boss-2.2" to find if target is a boss.

Wow thanks for the quick turnaround. Will this work in any instance, or just raids?

it should work in any instance.. i havent really tested it, just went on what was described at wowwiki's api page.

but any mob thats a "worldboss" which are ones that have skulls.. i think bosses in instances have skulls no matter what?.. it should work on those too.

edit2: ok updated to 1.1, uses babble-boss to tell if the target is a boss or not. worked in ragefire chasm :P and looking at babble-boss it should work for everything out there.(even some expansion instances/bosses)

looks like instance bosses are just "elite"

all i can think of now is to create a list of creatures you consider bosses and let you /mlr add [name] or what your targeting... from then on itll ask for ML on that target. i think thats the only way to tell

edit; sweet found an ace library called babbleboss.. might be able to use it instead!

Sweet, I'll check it out tonight.

Anyway to make it when the boss is engaged instead of targettiing? Sometimes as a healer i never actually target the boss...

Also how do you ignore a certain boss so it doesn't ask you to masterloot for that boss? Maybe implement ignoring an entire instance?

Or maybe give the option to only enable in Raid groups? Just brainstorming here

not sure how to do the engage thing.. so i just added it to check target's target.. would that help? if target (mt?) is targeting the boss itll ask.

and now if you click to NOT set ML itll ignore that boss.

new slash commands:

/mlr IgnoreList
/mlr IgnoreDel
/mlr IgnoreReset

/mlr Type [1|2|3]

type is if you want to use in 1=party only, 2=raid only or 3=both.

OK tried 1.1 out in UD Strat (Read your 1.2 changes as well). One thing - sometimes i'll throw up a shadow word pain on a boss. Every time I target the boss, it asks whether or not i want to be the ML.

Would be better if it could somehow only ask you once per encounter, though i assume that's a bit more difficult to code.

What if i just want to not masterloot for now, but next time i want it to ask me? Seems that if you hit no and it ignores them, a little too far. Maybe just /mlr ignoretarget or something to ignore?

i could change it to make the ignore list temporary. but if you crash, logout, or reload your UI the ignore list will be cleared.

would that be better or do you still want it to have both? (its easier just to make it one of the other though :P)

Is it possible to make the box have 3 buttons? (Yes, No, Never)?

I think the key is to only ask you once per encounter.

For the engage thing - what about parsing the combat log for the bosses name? Wouldn't show up there till he's agro'd would it?

nope, not possible to put 3 buttons

not sure if i would want it to check every known boss whenever someone attacks or a creature attacks.. could cause FPS problems. its why i went with targeting.

bigwigs and other boss mods only check for a few bosses but i be checking for every known boss (raid/5 man/outdoor) every time someone attacked or was attacked by a creature.

i could have it popup another box if you select NO asking if you want to ignore this boss forever or just this session?

I would say to make "No" always ignore for the session only. And to ignore specific bosses do /mlr ignoretarget or something like that. I mean usually when i would hit No would be for a 5-man or something, in which case i'd probably have the mod running in raid-only mode anyway so it wouldnt even pop up.
