Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

This has been in the design since the beginning, but it's currently not working since I just noticed a typo. It'll be fixed in the next version.

Any chance to add spec to infotag? Also, it'd be nice to change the frames' scale globally, instead of one by one.

Talent spec is too taxing for me to consider. Use a dogtag UF such as Pitbull or rely on your tooltip mod for this. No on global scaling since people in the past wanted to scale just the frames but not the buffs and timers, etc.

First: Thank you for making a very lightweight, highly configurable unit frame addon. Pitbull was just too much for me and this is perfect.

HOWEVER, I cannot use it and be perfectly happy until a few things are fixed:

**Border widths. I want to use a certain border but not have it be a set width. This isn't a game-breaker, but just for aesthetics in my UI.
**This is probably user error, but I can't seem to get buff/debuff cooldown timers to show at all. I don't have them hidden, I have a reasonable X and Y set as well as height and width. I just can't figure it out.
**In nearly all of my frames I have the name field as [name][nl][guild] but whenever I log on and sometimes (I haven't been able to reliably replicate the event) it will just output "guild" instead of the actual guild name. I have to go back into the configuration and retype [guild] and then it works. Just a little nuisance.
**I guess I'm spastic, and there's no way for you to fix that, but buff/debuff icon config frustrated me a good amount >_<

1. I do not control border widths. You'll need to find a border texture that fits your specs and register it into SharedMedia. Try a package like Grizzly's.
2. Did you try to change the font color alpha?
3. I'll look into the guild problem. I haven't fully tested it.
4. Should be a one time thing.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm going to continue working with your unit frames when I get home tonight and will again post any questions or comments I may have. Thank you!

This might help you understand an issue I'm having with the buff/debuff config. I want to have both buff and debuff icons show up below my target frame. Fine, easy. However, I want buffs to start from the top left and move to the right, just as this text is doing right now, and then when it hits the end of the frame go to a new row. Easy enough, I have basically already done that. But the hard part is the debuffs. I want the debuffs to do the opposite: start at the top right and move to the left below the rows of buff icons and then when those debuffs hit the edge they start a new row. I feel like this functionality is possible with your unit frames, and I will continue to hack away at it, but if you have any tips or something then lemme know!

Thanks again!

Sounds like you want buffs to go Left to Right, Top to Bottom, and you want debuffs to go Right to Left, Top to Bottom and pushed vertically from buffs. However, it's not possible (in Stuf) to put the two on the same row, and then put debuffs under before they get enough icons to overlap.

Check "Toggle Highlighter" and go through all the elements until it highlights that black box. I'm guessing it's either the portrait box or the main frame box (clickable box). The portrait box color is changed in each unit's portrait settings, but the main frame background color is changed in global settings.

HOLY MTHERBLUBBER! At first glance, I thought this was some "PitBull-Downgrade-For-Less-Options", but man you've made this UF great! If it works out very nicely, I'll keep them! IF anyone else is wondering whether to try it out, do it =P

Thanks alot!

Read the addon description about slider nudging. You can also manually input a value in the number box and press enter.

Im in love

I want to thank you so very much for creating this. I am just freaking out right now. I have a few UIS that are done with Discord and right now discord is very laggy for 25 man raiders, and any other heavy activity. This will help me redo them and make my uis work perfectly. This is honestly the best unit frame mod i have seen yet!

Loving this addon more and more everyday! Again, a few simple issues/bugs:

**[guild] tag still likes to randomly get stuck, and will either just output "guild" or will give every unit frame the same guild, even if the thing I'm targetting doesn't have a guild (for example, targetting someone in my guild <The Horsemen> and then targetting a rat will sometimes give the Rat the guild <The Horsemen>). This can be fixed by going into the Text1 and just retyping [name][nl][guild].
**I fixed the issue with buff/debuff timers not showing. It seems that all I had to do was change the value of the opacity. Strange though, because it was at 100% and then after sliding it down to 0 and back up it showed up.
**I'm trying to create my own .tga border file to use for these frames, where should I put this .tga file when I'm finished with it so this addon can see it? In shared media or somewhere in the Stuf folder?
**Relatively big issue here, pay attention! I want unit frame coloring to be a little bit more complex. Follow this java-logic:

if (npc && friendly)
color = green;
else if (npc && enemy)
color = red;
else if (player && friendly)
color = classColor;
else if (player && enemy)
color = classColor;

Right now, I have it using class-reaction but that isn't exactly what I want because in PvP it colors all the frames red but I want them to be class colored instead.

Any help would be awesome! Thanks for being so responsive
