Threat Plates (TP for short) is a addon for customizing your nameplates. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Features:

SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
Ace3 profiling.
Low memory footprint.
Threat system management.
Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
Customizable widgets.
Customizable totem nameplates.
Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.

Commands:

/tptp - Displays options.
/tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
/tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
/tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
/tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
/tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.

A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. A couple notes: - I'm using Threat Plates 5.1.4 and Tidy Plates 6.0.7 (r103) - When logging in or reloadui I get this error 1x TidyPlates_ThreatPlates-5.1.4\Widgets\Widgets.lua:7: attempt to call method 'EnableAuraWatcher' (a nil value) But even with the error, it still seems usable. However I did notice that if I did not have Buggrabber and Bugsack to catch the bugs, Threat Plates did not load properly. I had to have the Bug catching addons running in order to use Threat Plates. - I'm a little bit confused about something. In the screenshots in seems to show Threat Plates's config using the Blizzard Interface > Addons config window. But with the version I downloaded, when I goto Interface > Addons > Tidy Plates: Threat Plates, it tells me to open the separate dedicated config window. I don't really understand why addon authors choose to take the time to make their own dedicated configuration windows when Blizzard has already provided one for them to use. Does the Blizzard config window just not as configurable or what? It's nice to keep it all in one plate imo. - I use Threat Plates for tanking and I love it. I like how the health bars change color from green > yellow > red. However, I hardly ever see Yellow bars. Typically in your average heroic dungeon, the bar goes from Green > Yellow and then > Red very quickly. It would be nice if it turned yellow much sooner so that I can pick it up before threat is completely lost... How does Threat Plates decide when to change the threat color? Does it constantly scan the party/raid for everyone's threat amounts and use those numbers to determine when to change colors? It would be nice if there was some sort of "threshold" that I could adjust as to when the plates change color. - Also on a related note, you know how the default Blizz interface will say the words "Losing Threat" above a mobs head when you are loosing threat? It seems like it will say "Losing Threat" while the bar is green and then goto yellow and then very quickly go red. It seems like perhaps the bar should change to yellow at the exact same time as the interface says "Loosing Threat". That would be a nice indicator for when to change colors.

May be due to running Tidy Plates instead of Tidy Plates Beta. If you notice, the main page says "this addon for Tidy Plates Beta."

Threat is measured by Blizzard. Threat meters like Omen and Skada get their data from Blizzard's measurement.

The mobs are supposed to have 100% threat on the tank. If the healer or DPS get equal threat, they have 100% also.

If a party member has less than 100% threat, the tank sees "green"
If a party member has 100-109% threat, the tank sees "yellow"
If a party member has more than 110% threat, the tank sees "red"

The mob leaves the tank when someone is more than 110% of the tank's threat.

You only see yellow "blink" before red because (most of the time) threat changes beyond that 10% threshold very quickly.

To some degree this is true, however if you're tanking you're never approaching someone else's threat, they are approaching yours. So you'll never actually see the "yellow" indicator unless it's another tank that you're pulling off of. It's either you have threat or you don't with the blizzard system if you're tanking.

There is a Threat Line Widget you can enable that will give you more in depth threat and how much of a lead you have over players.

1. Nameplate Settings > Alpha > Blizzard Non-Target Fade

2. Castbar coloring was fixed a few versions ago not sure if you're using the latest version.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer on (1).
Regarding (2), I still don't know how to fix the uninterruptable castbar pattern issue. I'm using version 5.1.7 and uninterruptable castbar looks the same (some diagonal pattern), regardless the color and pattern I set. Normal cast pattern and color work fine though.
Any idea?
