Viridian Might Modpack

Version: 4.0
by: powdermnky007 [More]

I don't take credit for writing any of these mods, this is just a mod compilation. This is a very memory efficient modpack. When making this mod pack I tried LOTS of different mods until I found the ones that used the least amount of memory. I'm going to stay away from any class specific addons to make this friendly for all classes. I plan on regularly updating this pack. I don't plan on changing the user interface, because I like the standard one and it is confusing to most people. If there is a mod you don't like, click addons on the character select screen and disable it.

I recommend you do a clean install of this modpack.

Automaton - Automates redundant tasks, shift click on NPC to disable
BigWigs - Boss alert mod for 10 & 25 man raids
DragEmAll - Makes all frames movable
EasyMail - Upgraded Mailbox
GatherMate2 - Displays location of all Herbs, Mining, etc
GearScore - Gear overview
Lightheaded - All the quest info on wowheads website
LittleWigs - Boss alert mod for 5 man outland instances, must have bigwigs to function
Mapster - Map, instance map
Omen - Threat meter
Onebag - Turns all your bags into one big bag
Onebank - Turns all your bank bags into one big bag
RatingBuster - Shows meaningful stats for items (+25 agi = 1 crit strike rating)
Recount - A damage meter
Routes - Takes Gathermate data & plots an efficient route

Navigate to the World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons Directory and delete everything there (except for any of your other mods you want to keep) . Now that you have cleaned that up extract my modpack there. When copying files over, if it asks you to overwrite CLICK YES!! There are no permanent changes made, so nothing will get messed up.

You must enable "Out of Date Addons" at the character select screen.

Below is a video that shows you how to configure Gathermate / Routes. Skip the first part that shows you how to download them, you have already done that if you have my modpack.

Nice, Thanks for the tip. I will check out Auctioneer Advanced once it gets out of the alpha stage.

If you don't like the memory use of auctioneer try auctioneer advanced. Uses less memory and is cooler in other ways too. Nobody seems to be using/talking about it, or I'm just missing it. But memory use isn't really an issue apparently compared to cpu performance, from what I've heard. Can't say much more about that subject though.

Once people download the new version, they will still have the Ace2 folder in their directory loading all libraries. I know I can put a .bat file and have warcraft automatically delete the Ace2 folder. How do I do that though? Is there another post on a forum with instructions?
Just *strongly* suggest to your users that they do a clean install of the Interface folder. That's generally what should be done with compilations anyhow, as you may take out some mods, add new ones, etc.

The current method you are using for your libraries is unsupported by the Ace2 community as it kinda goes against what they were written for and forces them to load all the time. Either leave them embedded or do standalone libraries the correct way. For more information on how to use standalone libraries check out the wowace.com site.

Again, having only one copy of each lib will *not* effect performance - WoW only loads the latest copy of each library. The only thing it will effect is initial loading time (when you first log in) as that's when WoW sorts through the libs and picks out the latest versions. But it does that so quickly, you may not even notice a decrease in loading time. The main benefits to using standalone libs is to have more control when debugging a library issue, see proper memory usage of your addons, and to minimize file size (like for compilations).

Most of the mods in the mod pack were using many of these libraries. Especially Ace. So I deleted all the libraries out of each individual mod, uncommented out the libraries from the toc files and let all mods share them out of the Ace2 folder.

Hello - I saw your compilation on the recent uploads list and I always take a look at new compilations.

I was just curious what you meant by "unifying all the libraries, meaning that this modpack is very light on memory"? I see that you have Ace2 installed as a standalone, but no other libraries. Also, having one copy of each library does not have an impact on memory usage.

I was just curious what you meant, is all.
