Sunder Tracker (on name plates)

Version: 1.0.1
by: Shadowd [More]

Note that this is no longer being maintained or updated.

This is a work in progress to make Warriors life easier in 5 mans when you're trying to manage 3-6 mobs at once per a pull, this still is being worked on and the displaying is not perfect.

Thanks to Gello for the idea of accessing name plates and Kaso for the original code to do so, and everyone in #wow-interface for listening to my rants while I tried to get multi-mob support working.

A screenshot would be great.

If this addon does what I think it does (shows the sunder armor debuff on nameplaets) it would be great for mage's living bomb, dk's disease etc..

Not going to happen unless I get incredibly bored, this was mostly as a proof of concept.

Please continue & update this

Yes, the concept for this mod is terrific. Still in WoW 2.3.3, Sunder Tracker v1.0.1 works reliably and without errors.

The mod used to save a boatload hassle trying to keep tabs on multi-mob pulls. But one major issue, though, which makes this mod no longer useful as it is now. In WoW 2.3.0, the Devastate talent was changed. From the patch notes: "Devastate (Protection) now combines the effects of Sunder Armor into its effect. It is also now affected by all talents and items that affect Sunder Armor."

Unfortunately, Sunder Tracker can't detect & show when Sunder has hit the target after using Devastate. As this patch change allows the warrior to build more threat than they used to, no prot warrior with a clue applies Sunder any more.

I keep my eye on mods and have not yet found anything comparable to this that allows you to see number of Sunders/Devastates on a target on the nameplate bar. Tooltips, sure, but switching your view to the tooltip during multi-mob pulls is as much hassle as looking at the Sunder icon on the target frame. Aloft offers a lot of nameplate bar options, but not tracking Devastates.

So asking/requesting/begging that you update Sunder Tracker to handle Devastate please, Shadowd .

Great mod idea for warriors

I want to encourage you on your work with your mods, I've use every single mod you've created and they have always proved to be very useful. Hopefully you'll be able to complete your work on Sunder Tracker since it would end up being the most ressourceful mod for multi tanking warriors.

Right now there are no real methods to keep track of how many sunder debuffs are on multiple targets without needing to switch targets. This becomes a real issue when your group is assisting the tank and get confused when the tank multi targets to maintain aggro on multiple mobs.

There is Tipbuddy which can display on the tooltip if a mob has been sundered or not, but it doesn't show the number of applications. Tinytips, at the moment, isnt able to show debuffs on the mob tooltips.

I see Sunder tracker as being a great solution to this issue and hope you will be able to complete your work on it to give it the functionality you envisioned as a multi tanking tool for warriors. Good luck!

As far as I know, the only way it's possible in terms of detecting same name/level mobs would be to scan the party/raids target, i'll see what I can do but wont be able to make any promises.

Very interesting concept! Congratulations!

What would be really, really cool for a tank, is being able to recolor the nameplates of the mobs depending if they are targetting you or not. The tank would then see at a glance which mobs need to be taken back on him. I suppose this is something difficult to achieve, since you don't have real means of checking the target of each mob around, if this mob is not already targetted by someone of your group... but if you have an idea, it would be a really wonderful feature!

Thank you for work
