Quick Auctions 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v3.1
by: Shadowed [More]

Quick Auctions is an auction tool to help speed up auctioning large quantities of items, especially canceling. While primarily Quick Auctions is built for large quantities of items, it can work fine for a few auctions as well. A bit of tweaking is required to get optimal settings, but it is very flexible and smart enough that you can use it for more than just mindlessly undercutting auctions by 1 copper every time. Summary window and craft queues are included so you do not have to memorize every item and quantity you need. Shows total materials required to craft as well as allowing you to click from the craft queue to craft so no searching through everything.

Slash command: /qa (/quickauctions)

Donations
A lot of time went into Quick Auctions, donations are appreciated but not necessary. And it's cheaper than buying gold while not being against the ToS!

Groups
Groups are how you manage what items should be managed by Quick Auctions. You can set auction settings either as a default, or per group giving you flexibility over everything without having to duplicate your settings 50 times. There are no limits to how many items can be grouped, see the configuration in /qa config to set them up.

Mail
Includes a timer in the top left of the mailbox indicating how much time before new mail data becomes available, and if you are not using Postal then QA provides its own auto looting for mail. The auto looter will work with the timer on the mailbox cache so it will loot everything, wait until new mail is available and then keep looting.

Auto mailing can now be done per item or per group to any character you want. For example, you can setup your banker to send uncut gems to your jeweler and you can setup your jeweler to send cut gems to your banker. The auto mailer is intelligent in when it sends mail off, and works best when using QA mail looter. If you are trying to loot herbs from your mailbox while auto mailing them to your scribe, it will send mail off whenever it sees your inventory is full. Basically, if you have 4 open slots it will auto mail/loot with only 4 slots, no more clearing out your bags to loot mail anymore!

General options

  • Smart undercutting - Instead of always using the undercut value, it will round it to the nearest gold piece if possible (10g99s -> 10g, 5g -> 5g - undercut price)
  • Smart cancel - Cancels auctions a bit smarter than usual, will cancel an item if you can re list it at a higher price and won't cancel it if items are below the threshold
  • Cancel with bid - Lets you choose if you want to cancel auctions with bids on them

Item options
  • Auto mail - Automatically mail items directly to your banker that are managed by QA
  • Post cap - How many of an item can be up at any one time (If you are undercut this number is reset)
  • Post time - How long to post an auction
  • Undercut - How much to undercut by
  • Bid percent - How much bid should be set to as a percentage of buyout
  • Threshold - Cap on how low an auction can go, if it'll be posted below the threshold price it won't be posted
  • Per auction - How many items to post per an auction
  • Fallback - If no other auctions are up, how much should it list an item for
  • Fallback cap - How high above the fallback an item can go, helps prevent posting a single Frostweave Cloth at 100g if someone sets it at an extraordinary price
  • Auto fallback - If the market price is below your thresold, QA will automatically post it at the fallback price
  • Maximum price gap - How much of a price difference is allowed between the lowest and second lowest items before QA undercuts the second lowest, this will also cancel your auctions if the price gap gets too high
  • Ignore stacks over - Allows you to ignore any auctions with a stack above X when determining price, useful if you want to post against the market price of 1 Abyss Crystal rather than the market price of posting 20 at once
What changed between 2 and 3?
While the configuration in QA2 was an improvement over the original QA, it still wasn't good enough. QA3 has a rewritten configuration and should be much easier for people to understand and use without having to learn to use QA through trial and error.

Scan speed has been increased quite a bit again and has been tightened up to reduce the chance of conflicts. In previous versions, QA would Query -> Wait 0.50 seconds -> Check Data -> Either parse it or wait 0.50 seconds, this made sure that whenever auctions were scanned all data was available including who posted them. The problem is, most of this data becomes available instantly after your initial 1-3 seconds. In 3 it's been changed: Query -> Check Data -> Wait 0.50 Seconds -> Parse or wait 0.50 seconds. Best case this means you will save 0.50 seconds per query (50 seconds/100 items), and worse case you won't see any speed increase.

Mail has been improved to make life easier for people, both a mail scrapper and a smarter mail sender were added. See the mail section above for more information.

Setting scope was improved, most basic options in QA including group settings have been moved to the global profile while server/faction specific settings can still be changed per profile. Letting you setup different profiles of how QA should handle different groups, without having to duplicate all of your group list over and over.
QA3 isn't done yet, and I have more planned still like summary improvements and easy buying of items.

Shadowed:
- Fix positioning of tradeskill frame
- Fixes for 4.3
- Fix tradeskill button positioning
- Should make canceling work again with hardware events
- Make open all work again, add posting back with necessary hardware event work, some initial work on canceling
- Initial conversions to WoWAce, nothing should actually work yet

Yes, all of your profiles will have the same item groups, although they can have completely different settings.
Go to the item you don't want to sell, on your new profile, and set the post cap to zero. Fixed.
I can't get it to go to zero. The slider only goes to 1 and if I type in 0 it reverts back to 1. I'd also like to be able to turn off groups per profile, but if that is out of the question then being able to put the post cap at 0 would help.

Another suggestion: I would like some sorting options for the items in the add/remove item from group screens to make it easier to find items, or at least for the whole item name to be listed so I don't have to mouse over each one to find out what "Glyph of Sh..." is

Stack Size Issue

I apologize if this question has already been answered, I've been reading everything I can find and can't seem to get a clear answer. I'm trying to use QA3 to post several different types of flask, in varying stack sizes. For instance, I'd like to post:

(10) 1x Flasks of Endless Rage
(10) 2x Flasks of Endless Rage
(15) 4x Flasks of Endless Rage

I can't seem to find a way to create a group for this item that will do that. Have tried creating multiple groups, different profiles, with no success. Is my only option to create a profile on a toon other than my AH camper, and switch over to post each group?

Thanks in advance.

I would like to comment that although using the cancel button to cancel undercut auctions does not cancel auctions with bids, the /qa cancel and I believe /qa cancelall do not check for bids.

I often do a cancelall to refresh my glyphs to 12 hours in the morning before work or at night before going to bed. I would very much like for this to not to cancel my auctions with bids like the cancel button does.

This is a wonderful addon and I thank you very much for making it. I am certain I would not be in the glyph market without it.

I'm not sure what happened Jim, but somewhere between the date of my reply and your reply, I too became unable to set the post slider to zero. That's what brought me here today, attempting to find a way to create profiles to post different groups of items (chant mats for ex.) without having to do "something" (like remove unwanted items) that damages other profiles.

Having used this for several months, I must compliment you on the ambitious work you have done on this mod. It is a very useful mod, one which quickly becomes a staple for anyone who works the AH. I wish to report a couple of quirks that I've found.

The General setting 'Enable auto fallback' behaves as expected when you go to an item group and examine it's settings.
Whichever the General 'enable auto fallback' is set to, the individual group setting's 'override auto fallback' allows the inverse of the General setting.

However, the General setting 'smart canceling' is confusing.

The toggle description reads ["Disables canceling of auctions with a market price below the threshold..." However checking this box does NOT in fact disable auto-canceling of items.
Nor does un-checking it.
The only way to disable auto-canceling of an item is by setting the individual item's 'override cancel setting' to 'disable auto canceling.'

This would be much less confusing if this General function behaved in the same manner as the General 'auto fallback' function does, enabling or disabling the function globally and allowing the individual settings to apply the inverse.

Next is the apparent inability to set up a profile to only handle 'some' of the groups out of the master list of all item groups.
I thought the ability to set the post count to zero would help me to post only enchant mats for example from a profile, and it did, however tweaking the lua to allow this revealed the problem that the mod continues to auto cancel based on the entire master list.

When I toggled the General 'smart canceling' I was chagrined to find this had no effect, the entire list was still subject to cancellation.

In order to effectively build a profile to only work my enchanting mats then, I need to go through every single item on my master list, set the post counts, and manually toggle 'disable auto cancelling' for each item that is not an enchanting mat.

If we expand this scenario to cover a profile for flasks only, I now have to manually toggle 96 items off, to allow the 4 types of flasks on my list to be handled.

I would like to see the global cancel function's behavior changed, this would facilitate the ability to set up varying profiles for different item groups. I imagine you have other improvements in this area planned however, so let me thank you for allowing me to detail the only thing I really find lacking in my usage of this mod. Keep up the great work!

I'm confused what you're asking, it sounds like you want the smart canceling option to be moved from a global to a global then overridden per group?

It looks like you ultimately want a way of setting profiles so you only manage a certain set of items from each profile, and for all intents and purposes the other groups don't exist? So you have a profile for enchanting and for glyphs, but they have no knowledge of each other when you're on either one.

Sorry, I was hoping to avoid any confusion, thus the length of my post

You are absolutely correct in your understanding of my desire to manage only certain sets of items from a given profile. That is exactly what I want.

Now, as for the canceling function...it appears to me that it makes no difference which way I have the global cancel function toggled. It doesn't stop the mod from canceling an auction I have been undercut on in either setting. Perhaps my understanding of the global toggle is incorrect.

In my prior post what I said about "auto fallback:"
It behaves as expected, you change the general, and the individual allows you to set the opposite.

As far as the cancel function however, it sure looks to me like the only way I can stop a cancel is to set it in the individual settings, the global doesn't stop cancels from happening.

Thank you for your time.

Smart cancelling won't disable canceling, I think you are confused on how it functions. If you set a threshold of 10g, you post an item at 12g and then someone posts it at 8g, it won't cancel the 12g item.

The auto cancelling option will only stop canelling but not posting, I'll see about adding a simple page that let's you enable/disable groups by profile, which would hide a group completely.

Thank you for the clarification. You are correct, I was misunderstanding the global 'Smart Cancel' toggle.
Thank you again for your time and efforts, your mods rock.

've been getting the message "Increased buyout price due to going below thresold" thresold is the way it is spelled. No matter what I do it just keeps setting my items at the threshold. So if I have an item threshold at 10g and there lowest auctions is 100g it won't under cut to 99g(my undercut setting is 1g) It will display that message and set it at 10g. I've cleared my settings, reinstalled it, and disabled all other addons it still happens.

Is it possible to add back in how many items were posted?
After mass posting my glyphs only "Scan finished." popped up, not "Finished posting x items." as before.

Thanks.

A few questions, comments and suggestions. Love this addon!!

Enchant Scrolls
  • Right now you can add enchant scrolls to the tradeskill list, but you can't see them from your enchanter. I presume this is because it is stored in your data as the scroll item.
  • Related but different, it would be nice if the tooltip in the Summary window shows the enchant instead of the scroll. Sometimes I'd like to make a crafting decision based on what the mats are. Seeing the scroll isn't so useful.

Global Tradeskill List
  • It would be super-nice if you could view the entire current tradeskill list from any toon. In fact, having this would help deal with the Enchant Scroll problem.

Since the last update, I have trouble posting multiple items. It just queues them and sits there doing nothing. Today I looked more closely and noticed what happens. I use QA3 to post glyphs, gems and bags for me. I had 8 bags. QA tries to post 9, I get an error message that I do not have enough items, and everything else is just queued.

Manually posting the bags, then reloading UI fixes it. Doesn't matter how many bags I have, QA always tries to post one more than I actually have.
