OPie  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lime 6
by: Foxlit [More]

OPie is a radial action-binding addon: it lets you group actions into rings which appear when you hold down a keyboard or mouse binding. When you release the binding, OPie will perform an action based on where your mouse cursor is.

Use OPie to reduce the amount of clutter on your action bars: rings can contain your abilities, items, professions, battle pets, equipment sets, macros, and raid or world markers. Some rings for common class abilities and professions are included, as is a special quest items ring which automatically makes all of your quest and quest-starting items easily accessible. Other addons may add additional rings; for example, Spade uses OPie rings to let you chose the seeds you want to plant on your farm.

Download OPie today; configure to your liking (/opie), and customize your rings (/opie rings). For more details, see the OPie Guide, the screenshots here, or a YouTube video of OPie in action.

Ring snapshots and tutorial/gameplay videos
You can create snapshots of your custom rings to share with other players; if you like, you can post them in the comments section on this page. Likewise, if you've created a video showing how you use OPie, I would very much like to hear about it.

Bug reports and feature requests
If you encounter any problems while using OPie, or think of useful functionality to add to OPie, use the OPie ticket tracker if possible, or leave a comment here.

# OPie Lime #
* You can now snapshot your custom OPie rings to share them with other players.
* Changes made in OPie configuration panels are now applied immediately (outside of combat lockdown), and can always be undone entirely by clicking Cancel.
* New, configurable "Selected slice (keep ring open)" binding allows you to use the currently-selected slice without closing the ring (Bindings → Slice Bindings).
* Slices can now be hidden based on a macro conditional evaluated when the ring is opened.
* Improved support for spells with automatically recharging charges, e.g. Roll.
When some, but not all, charges have been expended, OPie displays a semi-transparent cooldown spiral and a spinning spark around the slice's border to indicate the time remaining until the next charge is available.
Added a separate "Show recharge numbers" option to display time until next charge is available as a number.
* You can now adjust the position at which OPie rings are displayed through the configuration UI.
* An Extra Action Button slice can now be added to custom rings.
* OPie can now automatically select matching slice colors based on slice icons.
* The Quest Items ring now includes the Cooking School Bell and Blingtron 4000 if you have not yet completed those daily quests today.
* Cooldowns are now displayed for battle pet slices.
* Slices that are unusable due to being out of range now have a red stripe in the upper left corner of the icon.
* Slices that are unusable due to a lack of resources now have a blue stripe in the upper left corner of the icon.

## Changes ##
* Custom rings limited to other classes or characters can now be modified through the Custom Rings options panel (Inactive rings sub-menu).
* Changing a ring's binding through the Custom Rings configuration panel now changes both the default and active profile's binding for the ring.
* Ability names in custom OPie macros are automatically converted into spell links when the macro is saved.
You can temporarily revert links to text representations by right-clicking or alt-right-clicking them.
* Many bundled rings have been updated.
* Improved custom macro parser to support {{spell:id}} tags in castsequence/castrandom macros, /cast !{{spell:id}} syntax, and preserve empty clauses.
* Improved default mount detection for {{mount:ground}} and {{mount:air}} tags in OPie macros.
* Deleting a ring now also deletes the related per-ring options.
* Removed the option to display an icon at the center of an OPie ring.
* Removed Challenger's Paths ring.
* Masque is no longer supported.
* The various overlay dialogs now shroud OPie configuration panels from mouse wheel events.
* This update changes slices using the pre-Lime default slice color (e5ff00) to use icon-dependent colors.
* Non-/cast-like custom macros are now always considered usable.
* Unusable slices are now dimmed rather than faded.

## Bug fixes ##
* Fixed an error that occurred when navigating away from slice detail view when the macro box is focused and modified.
* Fixed an error that occurred when the Unbind button was clicked.
* Fixed an error that occurred when resetting per-slice bindings for a specific ring to default values.
* Fixed an error that occurred during slice selection when ring scale was set to low values.
* Fixed an issue preventing unbinding a ring from releasing the binding to other rings.
* Fixed an issue preventing correct macro feedback for /castsequence macros with a single spell and a specified reset condition.
* Fixed an issue causing the ring contents column in the custom ring configuration panel to not be updated correctly when slices were deleted under some circumstances.
* Fixed an issue causing all battle pets to appear twice in the battle pet slice category in Patch 5.2.
* Fixed a graphical issue in the cooldown animation.
* Fixed an issue causing nested ring slices to overlap in some circumstances.
* Items on cooldown are no longer indicated as usable.
* Fixed an issue causing the "Show recharge numbers" option to be ignored (in favor of "Show cooldown numbers") when performing Spinning Crane Kick.
* Fixed an error that occurred when saving custom macros while playing a class that has a spell flyout ability.
* Fixed an issue preventing nested ring rotation from being saved.
* Corrected slice icon display for non-active /cast {{spell:id}}-like macros in the custom rings panel.
* Fixed an issue preventing OPie slash commands from opening correct configuration panels on first use in Patch 5.3.
* The "Make rings top-most" option is no longer disabled when "Activate on left click" option is unchecked.
* Fixed an issue preventing the overlay dialog used in the option panels from being cleared correctly in some circumstances.
* Fixed an issue causing option panel descriptions to be truncated incorrectly.
* Fixed incorrect ability out-of-range feedback for self-cast abilities and actions.

Those work for me. [/b]
Not sure if we're using the same scenario to test, then.

I have Opie set to "Activate on Left-Click". I have created a macro as follows:

#showtooltip
/cast [button:2, target=player] [] Flash Heal

In my regular action bar, a left-click lets me then click to select my target. A right-click automatically casts Flash Heal on me.

In the Opie ring, a left-click lets me then click to select my target. A right click simply exits the ring as if I had hit the keybind again, or escape; it does not cast on self. I believe that Opie is not registering the right-click as a valid clicking event for the purposes of executing the ring option selected.

I've tried using both a blizzardUI macro, and a custom Opie macro; neither works.

Awesome addon!

No complaints or problems here just wanted to say that its an awesome addon! Any paladins looking at using this I was able to replace all the following (each in its own hotkeyed ring) on my action bars with this and improved my gameplay tremendously:
- Auras
- Seals
- Judgments
- Mounts
- Heals
- MORE!

Seriously, this is probably THE best addon I have ever downloaded. It is simply amazing and can be integrated into nearly every and any situation for any of the classes I have. Keep up the great work!

It was an indication-only change; the behavior is unaltered. If you were to release Shift-P, even in an older version, you'd cast a teleport rather than a portal -- indication is now aware of the effect bindings have on macros. You can use any modifier key that isn't a part of your ring binding to cast a portal.

None that I care to support at the moment. There's possible solution involving /click further back in the comments, but it's more of a hack than a feature.

I'll likely add an option to display tooltips instead of captions in the near future.

2. In addition to activation on left-click, activation on right-click to automatically target self (handy for heal/buff rings).

(I did confirm that the macro worked as expected from the action bar)

Thanks

It's a great addon, so useful, Just one thing, Why can't we see tooltip? For example for quest items, I hover my house over them. No tooltip? I tried to find an option for this, and couldn't find, Thanks.

First, luv this addon, this has enabled me to vastly reduce my UI Thank you for your work

Small request, if and when you get a chance, is it possible to have the text for the selected item as a configurable frame, if thats the right way of expressing it. Due to my vision i often need to enlarge text, however i foresee that if you enlarge the text for the ring you may get ugly overlapping, so to be able to have the text come up somewhere else or even in the default tooltip location would be kewl.

Having said that just to be able to enlarge it a bit would be a boon as well.

I know you can scale but its not optimal, by the time the text is somewhat larger the ring ends up quite large

Anyway to access from /slash command?

Is there anyway to access this by making a macro or /slash command? I was thinking I would like to stack the menus, having one button access a menu of the menus. Is there a way I could possibly do this? (e.g. Alt-M brings up the menu, the options are all macros to open the different menus/rings I've created)

I was thinking it would be easier to access one menu than to try and remember the key for all the different menus. Plus I'm having a hard time getting the bind keys to work, Alt-S and Alt-P both refuse to work. Thanks in advance for the help. I really like the mod, I just wanted to some alternate functionality.

Re: Tradeskills ring

I can confirm that the deDE Client changes the following trade skill names for Northrend ranks:

Cooking: Kochkunst -> Kochen
Alchemy: Alchimie -> Alchemie

Which are exactly the ones I'm missing now, so your theory appears to be correct.

Tradeskills ring

Some partial confirmations on the trade skill rings issue: engineering is not (and never has been) included -- that's an easily fixed oversight.

I've also managed to find what I think is causing the other tradeskills to disappear when you learn Northrend ranks, and that's going to be a bit more difficult to fix.
Problems stem from the assumption that the trade skill name does not change as you rank up -- thus, OPie only stores a single spell ID, fetches the name of that spell, and checks if you have any spells with that name (but not necessarily rank) in your spell book. This held up to Wrath (as far as I know, English Wrath also works) -- but some localizations decided to change spell names. The deDE client, for example, calls the apprentice rank "Alchimie", and the grand master rank "Alchemie" -- name mismatch drops the skill from the ring.

If you're experiencing this issue, I'd like you to post the locale of your client and check whether the trade skill name changes between apprentice and grand master ranks (see your spellbook), if only to verify that my theory about what's causing this is correct.

The new version fixed all of my errors. Warrior ring works now!

Trade Skills still don't.
Cooking and First Aid show up -- that's it. I'm also an engineer and miner. Grand Master (that's the new Northrend rank, right?) in all (except fishing -- artisan).

Hot Keys / Right-click

Any chance of either of the following happening?

1. Binding hot-keys to individual ring elements that override main keybinds when the ring is visible, to allow for 1->1,2,3, 2->1,2,3, 3->1,2,3 (etc.) sub-bar functionality.

2. In addition to activation on left-click, activation on right-click to automatically target self (handy for heal/buff rings).

Besides that, I really like this mod. Been looking for a solid way to condense my pally judgements/seals, and this is it. With the 2nd-level keybinds, it'd be 100% perfect for what I had been looking for.

Thanks, and keep up the good mod.

Hey, hunter's get a new aspect in WotLK which is not available on the aspect bar. Wowhead link. This new aspect combines the old aspect of the hawk and aspect of the monkey, so once you get the new you will never use the old ones again.

Sadly with the new version trade skills still fails on my druid. Only showing First Aid and Leather Working, not showing Alchemy and Cooking.

On my level 22 Druid OPie shows all trade skills (besides skinning, but I assume this is intended behaviour), so it might very well be a problem with Northend ranks.

With the mage travel ring, holding shift causes portals to be displayed instead of teleports (just stating this so my comment is in context ). I have had this ring bound to Shift-P. Previously, pressing Shift-P to show the ring shows portals, and letting go of the shift key would show teleports. As of a recent version (I just noticed it tonight, but it may have happened earlier), behavior has changed for this. Pressing Shift-P shows teleports instead of portals, even though Shift is pressed (though it is what the ring is bound to), and I cannot get portals to display (as Shift is already down). Is there any way to get the old behavior back that I used to see, or am I stuck getting used to a new binding?
