Recipe Radar  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.403
by: kernighan, ladenedge

Recipe Radar assists players in finding recipes. It knows about vendors who sell recipes in the current region or by profession. It has a number of filtering options and can even locate vendors on the world map.

Classic version available at: https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info25229-RecipeRadarClassic.html

Tips:

  • There are two "tabs": the main "radar" tab and one that searches by profession!
  • You can bind a key to Recipe Radar through the main menu!
  • There are lots of filtering options - use the dropdowns to customize Recipe Radar!
  • Some internal maps are inaccurate at this time, it is currently a work in progress to fix these up.

Hey, love this addon(saved so much money because of it) and had a thought that might help improve this a bit.

I've noticed when you look up for one certain skill, it shows all for that one, yet you might not be able to learn it due to the fact you picked a certain one. For example, I decided to be an Armorsmith, but it still shows me ALL blacksmithing plans (even the weapons which i can't pick up of course).

Basically, i was just wondering and thinking if it's possible if you can maybe branch out those tradeskills a little more so you can only look up those that apply for them.

Thanks for the time and thanks a lot for this addon, really love it.

Iirc RR used to filter recipes not available to you due to tradeskill specialisation. Did you update this to the 2.0.3 changes?

and with regard to season recepies: date() and time() are your friends http://www.lua.org/manual/5.1/manual.html#pdf-os.date

Yeah, didn't notice that all the specializations disappeared. Thanks for the heads up, and a big thanks for the note about date(). I'll try to get that in there very soon (lots of complaints about the seasonal recipes, heh).

BC recipes should now be complete, by the way - let me know if you have any trouble!

Sure does!

PS. I get weird problems with the foglight on the areas of the Bone Wastes and Auchindoun in Terokkar Forrest. What it does is not display all of my discovered areas, instead they are still shaded as if I have not been to them. It's very odd and only occurs in the Bone Wastes.

I've been using this mod for a long time, but I never could figure out one thing... how do you change the profession listed in the "by profession" tab? It's always Cooking for me, and I don't see any options to change it anywhere... I checked the FAQs and stuff at the radar homepage website too, didn't seem to mention it there

First click on that tab (looks like a cooked chicken), then select a new profession from the professions drop down menu.

Don't worry, it took me a while to figure this out (sometimes curiosity and boredom combined are a good thing!)

RecipeRadar also somehow turns off gathering addons like Cartographer_Fishing, Cartographer_Herbalism, Cartographer_Treasure... You enable them back from cartographer menu, but next herb, or changing zone makes them disabled again...) Great, if it is fixed...

move the button?

is there any way to move the reciperadar minimap button? i've tried everything i can think of and its still stuck in place on the bottom right i use all the available game UI bars for buttons and they cover up the icon where its sitting now and i can't move those, they are part of the default UI

PS. I get weird problems with the foglight on the areas of the Bone Wastes and Auchindoun in Terokkar Forrest. What it does is not display all of my discovered areas, instead they are still shaded as if I have not been to them. It's very odd and only occurs in the Bone Wastes.
i get that too alarius... any idea what causes it?

Very odd! I must admit to having no idea on this one. I accept patches, though, if you find out what the problem is!

Yes there is. Open the main RR window and click on the 'Options' button at the bottom. Inside the frame that pops up, you should see a slider. Moving this slider should cause the minimap button to move around the minimap border.

Updated version?

I love this add-on and with the new patch making it out dated I was wondering if there is an updated version coming out?

It lives!

It turns out I don't have a sweet excuse for being so late on this release, though I did have a number of technical difficulties in the last few months. Part of the problem was a reluctance on my part to release a new version when the Spanish and Chinese translations were so incomplete. They really needed their own automation apart from my scripts that hit AllaKhazam because AllaKhazam is so incomplete on those two fronts.

So the good news is that I finally got around to writing those new scripts - one for Spanish which hits WoW-Lista, and one for Chinese which hits Alfred's. For Spanish and Chinese clients, I hope this means you will have nearly full availability checking from here on out. For the rest of us, it means my releases should be much less work and, consequently, that I should be able to be a bit more timely.

(Well, it can't be any worse, right?!)

I hope you enjoy the new version - if anything doesn't work, please let me know!

(BTW, I'll try to respond to some of the recent comments ASAP - right now I just wanted to get this release up here before I get lazy again..!)

Brilliant mod, i wish i found this one sooner. One thing tho, when i learn a new recipe, the recipe window doesn't update with the new information that i have learned it, i.e. it still show the recipe as green, not until i have closed and reopened the window does it correctly display it as gray.
