Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Patch 4.0.1

So the new patch is on the PTR which means we'll be seeing it live very soon. I'm really interested to know if you'll be using the new/default "holy power" bar or just a bubbles option.

The default will look amazing on my UI considering I keep it in the realm of WoW look and feel.

Good luck getting the coding done in time. Thanks for the amazing addon.

That's unfortunate. Myself and a few other people I talk to on various UI forums (I'm sure there's more) would very much like the option to control player frame transparency while injured (not at full health + out of combat).

Its an incredibly useful feature while questing/grinding mobs/PvP'ing etc. that you might be underestimating.

Is it possible to add a border to castbar icon? I could be just blind but can't find the option.

Thanks!

status update

Hello. If someone in my party goes afk, offline, etc and im out of range like in another zone the status doesn't update. im using [maxhp_ifnot:afk][solid_if_afk:afk].

I have also tried a new text with [solid_if_afk:afk] only and with an backdrop. but that also doesnt update if im not in range.
My question is if it's supposed to be like that?

Can the configuration for the shaman totem bars be expanded? It would be great if you could individually move each element's bar, like you can for circular combo points. In addition, the ability to set bar colors, icon placement (including hiding the icons) and vertical bars would help.

Cataclysm beta

Stuf has a few bugs on the Cataclysm beta (which I fully understand and expect).

- Power doesn't display properly on the player frame. Stays at 100% always.
- The frames won't display when you login unless you pop up the config and display the "test" frames.

Other than that they work fine.

It's not really 0. If there is not set value, zero is shown; but I think default is 12. Change it to 1 or completely hide it.

1. No, but I plan to add an option to make the bar empty if HP is full, for example. 2. It seems like you're making full health too important. Making features based on that is not what I want to add.

No.

It's like the only thing I can do now. Stuf mostly works already. I just need to add some major stuff like the new shard counters, bar options, etc.

Absolutely love these UFs. I only wish there was an option to have the buffs and castbar push from the DEBUFFS (more like the default blizz frames), instead of the debuffs and castbar pushing from the buffs.
The push feature was copied from Blizzard's frames, except for the order of the castbar. Blizzard is buffs -> debuffs -> castbar. Stuf is castbar -> buffs -> debuffs.

Really? I mainly see other UFs featured over there.

Still hoping someone can answer my target string question down a couple of posts, but I have another question. Is there a way to hide Player frame when you are in a raid?

This code will show a player name, but the realm name will not follow. I've found this code useful for BGs and LFD.

I am wondering how I can add class coloring to that custom Lua?

I know that "cache" can be used with infotags, but "cache.class" will not work in the previously mentioned function because "class" is a colortag rather than infotag. From what I understand, a colortag has to go alongside an infotag. If I try "cache.class:name", no text is shown whatsoever.

Thanks for reading!
As a follow-up to this post, I was able to receive assistance and instruction. The code to utilize to attain this functionality is as follows:

Code:
function(unit)

	local colorTable = CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS or RAID_CLASS_COLORS

	local colors = colorTable[select(2, UnitClass(unit))]

	return ('|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r'):format(colors.r*255, colors.g*255, colors.b*255, UnitName(unit))

end

I'm working on my interface, and stuf is a great addition to it. However, I'm trying to keep the information displayed on-screen limited to a minimum at all times, especially out of combat/at full health, so I was wondering whether you would consider adding the following features:
1. Letting a bar (health, power, etc) fade when out of combat+full.
2. Letting the player frame fade when out of combat+at full health/power.
Those are the only features I miss in stuf, aside from this it is an awesome addon. Thanks for making this, and keep up the good work!
