Mostly because i want to be able to have normal mobs really small, elites bigger and so on, but i would love to be able to have player nameplates the same size as elites.
There isn't really a way to determine a player nameplate from a normal mobs nameplate so this isn't doable without a massive chunk to your memory and a lot of UnitID's.

- Would be cool if the 'neutral' mobs did not include elites and bosses. Or have an option to exclude them in the neutral scaling, or extra options for scaling of neutral elites, etc.
I don't find it necessary since there aren't that many neutral elites / bosses anyway.

- The ability to remove the Skull from Boss mobs, or move it to another spot or even have it in place of the mobs level, like the default UI.
I'll be adding this later on when I'm able.

- For overlapping Nameplates, it would be cool to have target take priority over the rest on the strata so that it appears on top and easier to see. As well as having elites overlap normals. So an option to configure the strata of nameplates would be excellent, if at all possible.
You'll have to ask danltiger for that one. I'd love that to happen as well. The target art was probably the only thing I could have done.

I am actually a fan of Clean Plates except it doesn't quite have the options this one does but couple things I found really interesting about that one is:
- Having the Totem Icon above the totems, which is pimp for pvp. And possibly the ability to change the sizes of the nameplates for totems separately.
- Faction Champion class Icons and spec indicator.
In fact it would be awesome if you merged the 2 add-ons since they are both by you and very similar in style.
I'm currently remaking Clean Plates to have all the options that Threat Plates plus all the totem / faction goodies.

Also one last thing is that its possible its not implemented yet but cast bar spell names aren't being shown. I've tried to turn the option off and on and its not working for me.
There was a typo in the conditional * mentioned below * and there's also a problem in the Tidy Plates code that makes cast bar text stick after a cast is done. I'll update it soon regardless of the cast bar text bug on Tidy Plates.

This is a consistently awesome mod thus far I've been using it for almost two months now.

One I didn't find mentioned in the thread (or I'm just blind) is this disposition of the name plate background layer. See here. Has anyone encountered/fixed this?

It's been known for a while now that skinner conflicts with Tidy Plates. However there is an option to remove nameplate skinning(in skinner). Just disable it and reload ui.

Hi,

I'd like to put in my 2 cents for how features are implemented / feature requests on this great mod.

1. The mod currently makes the non-selected target have a lower alpha value. This has the effect of making non-targetted mobs really difficult to see / target. Please add an option to control this behavior so that we can adjust it manually. I like the idea of having non-targetted mobs a different alapha, its just a bit severe.

2. Allow us to set the text color for mob names. Currently mob names go through white text, yellow text, red text and I can't for the life of me figure out the rhyme or reason. Combined with #1 above, a 40% alpha nameplate with red text is EXTREMELY difficult to read to target the correct mob in a pack of nameplates.

Thanks a bunch.

If you've not updated to 5.9.1 there was some drastic alpha changing which wasn't intended. I was going crazy too. I have no control over that kind of alpha changing so you'll have to ask for that to be available through danltiger's portal. I agree that alpha seems a bit low as of late.

I have however noticed quite a difference between the beta alpha difference and the live version:

Have you updated to 5.9.1? With 5.9, I tried something [silly] to allow users full control of the alpha. It didn't work so well. 5.9.1 reverses that "feature".

Edit: I can confirm this solution, since I just downloaded Skada, and tested it with 5.9. The revision fixes the layering issue.

I'll allow changing of the text colors sooner or later. I'll have to make my own text layers and completely remove the styled name's.

This addon is lovely, but I'm totally confused with all these double options...

Under Nameplate Options, there's a bunch of scale, alpha and color settings. But under Threat Options, there are more scale, alpha and color settings... Do these settings add up, or are they multiplicative? Or does one override the other?
For example, if I choose pink as "Low Threat Color" under Nameplate Options, what effect does that have if I have green as "Low Threat Color" under DPS Threat levels?

Furthermore, I noticed that when you select a target, all unselected nameplates become almost completely transparent. Can this be adjusted somewhere? They are hardly visible now. Also, how does this transparency work together with the alpha threat settings? Does it fade even more if I have low threat on that unselected target? And does it become opaque when I'm about to aggro it?

Lastly, what do the sliders under "Unit Type Threat Offsets" do?

If you're not using the threat system, you're out of combat, or the threat system is ignoring a particular mob type, the scales and alphas you'll be seeing are from the Nameplate Options or as what I refer to them as "Normal" nameplates.

If you set say Normal mobs to be ignored from the threat system via the "Threat Options" and you changed the "Low Threat Color" to pink, any Non-Elite / Non-Neutral mobs that are low in threat would have a pink threat glow.

If you didn't set Normal mobs to be ignored from the threat system, and you were in your DPS role with "Low Threat Color" under DPS Threat Levels to green, any Non-Elite / Non-Neutral mobs that are low in threat would have a green threat glow.

This would also swap if you were in a Tanking role with particular settings for Tanking Threat Levels.

There is currently a bug in the code and Danltiger will be changing it soon. The unselected nameplates shouldn't be as transparent as they are * look a couple posts down for a comparison to the beta vs live version *. Unselected mobs will always drop in opacity however so there is no way to override that * yet *.

As for the alpha settings, If you're in tanking mode and you have high threat alpha set to 30%, any mobs you have a high level of threat on will drop to 30% alpha. If you have low threat alpha set to 100% they'll become opaque when you've lost threat.

Originally posted by dracula Lastly, what do the sliders under "Unit Type Threat Offsets" do?
In these threat settings, you can set how much scaling difference there is between say normal / neutral mobs and elites that are already affected by the threat system. These are cumulative with the DPS Threat Levels and Tanking Threat Levels depending on which role you are. These do not effect the Normal scaling settings.

I'm planning to make a diagram kind of explaining all of the settings since there are quite a lot of them. I originally didn't want to confuse new users with all the complexity of the options so a diagram will definitely help.

I dont know if i missed this somewhere but are we expecting the threat widget to be available on the threat plates and not just on the grey plates? Keep up the good work.

The hide neutral plates options for threat and normal dont seem to actually toggle anything.

Please disregard-
For those others having problems with settings getting shown, go to the regular tidy plates options and select the right theme... doi!

Would be nice if the name space width for both mob name and spellcast text would scale with the "overall" plate scale. I currently make minor manual adjustments to the Y position of the health text and cast text, and the width of the name.
