Locotech

Version: 1.1
by: Warlocomotif [More]

I made this UI at first in photoshop, I didn't expect I'd manage to port it into the game as well as I did and frankly it came out better then I had expected. Anyway, I made this UI for myself; some people asked if I would share it and so I figured I would- just keep a few things in mind:

* The window in the bottom panel for EventHorizon is a constant size, for some classes/specs it might be too small or too big.
* This is the first UI I upload, I might've messed some stuff up.

I would really like some feedback on this UI, and hope you all like it.

Installation:
Change the folder names "[Account name]", "[Realm name]", "[Character Name]" to whatever is right for you- some addons will then work out of the box, for others there should be a profile called "Locotech" that you can use.

Addons included:
- Bartender 4
- ButtonFacade
- ButtonFacade Serenity
- EventHorizon
- kgPanels
- Parrot
- pError
- pMinimap
- Prat 3.0
- Recount
- Recount-threat
- Satrina Buff Frames
- Simple Runes Bar
- Stuf
- Tiptac

1.1
* Should now work on more screen resolutions.
* Removed some unneeded files.
* Moved textures into a separate directory.

1.0a
* Corrected a typo in one of the folder names.
* Added a readme.txt

1.0
Original release
Optional Files (0)

I'm currently planning to release an update for this in cataclysm, there will be 3 possible layouts that (if everything works out) are swapped between automatically.

[1] Solo / 5 man
[2] 10 man raid
[3] 25 man raid

The solo / 5 man layout will look mostly like the current, the 25 man will look roughly like this:
http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/2...2110203339.jpg

The 10 man version is yet to be designed, but it'll look like something in between. Also a viewport addon will be included by default as to make sure you keep a good portion of your screen free.

I'm thinking of releasing a new version soon-ish, likely using oUF or something alike.

Wish this could be updated for the new lua changes, Anyone got a working copy when I install I find everything messed up and in some cases no profiles to change to.

Problem installing.

I was wondering if it could be made any clearer on how to install this addon, or am i just nubbing it up?lol I'm just confused when it says

"Change the folder names "[Account name]", "[Realm name]", "[Character Name]" to whatever is right for you" When i try and change to folders it gives me an error saying a folder with that name already exists XD a lil help would be appreciated i like the look of your addon, and want to give it a try ^^

Hey, you might remember me from mmo forums, but I have played around with it myself.

Regarding the raid frames, I have gone back to grid, and have put it down in the bottom right hand corner. With profiles I have kept grid at the top for my healer. I did this by going into the stuf options and disabling the party1-4 (i think) frames. I'm not so sure about the whole package, I am guessing the unit frames for the health/mana bar and target/focus are all stuf as well.

With mouseover macros the clickable frames shouldn't be a problem, but for healers generally I would say Grid is one of the most favoured frame addons. It does suck a little having a seperate addon, hogging space, might not be the best option for those with older PCs.

I'm trying to think of an alternative to Grid and stuf that actually has grid and unit frames both in one, so your own health/mana bar, and the party frames can be configured to fit exactly the same into your panels as stuf does. I'll have a look around and see if i can find one that can be configured to the same level.

Good job though, great ui and I now love Event Horizon, even though i promised myself I wouldn't change dot timer again. I'm not sure what the 'vitals' part you mentioned actually is, though i haven't noticed any problems with it.

I'm going to take another screenshot very soon to show you how this looks. I won't be raiding again until sunday but will try and get a shot then.

A few notes;
1] I found that I messed up on the raid frames, the visual frames are a little bit below the clickable frames- resulting in some incredibly annoying play for healers. This is fairly simple to fix, but a gigantic pain in the ass.
2] I included EventHorizon Vitals in the package, I didn't really intend to and it most likely won't be in the next version.
3] The 2nd 'SavedVariables' folder (not the global one) is still typo'd up with a space too many in the name.
4] I'm strongly considering adding a viewport so you don't lose a portion of the bottom of your screen to the bottompanel.
5] I'm not really sure if stuf can really do what I'd like it to do for healers in terms of raidframes. I haven't spent a ton of time on this, but I can't really find much that would help in displaying important raid debuffs in a non-annoying way. I'm also not sure if I actually want to have a separate raid frames addon.
6] On some resolutions the center pottom panel has some weird lines at it's ends, I should be able to fix that by changing where the transparancy starts.

I'd like to get some feedback on those 6 points.

On another note: the buttonless bottompanel textures was updated and should work properly now.
Though I enjoy your Ui, the Raid Interface you put in I did not like. I got rid of it and instead put in Grid. No offense to your work, it just irritated me to see small Name plates.

Saying "everything" is not erribly useful when half the addons don't even support profiles.

Stuf doesn't use profiles, default configuration is used.
kgPanels profile is included.
EventHorizon doesn't use profiles.
Parrot is default profile, I'll separate it to a custom profile in a future upload.
pMinimap doesn't use profiles, all settings other then x/y coordinates should be included in the included settings.
Prat: No profile included, since it mostly pertains personal preferences.
Recount doesn't use profiles as far as I know, I'll see what settings I can include.
Simple runes bar doesn't use profiles, not sure if the default coordinates for it are appropriate ones.
Tiptac doesn't use profiles however default settings should be included.

If you don't tell me which addons specifically you are having problems with there's not a whole lot I can do for you.

I thought I was pretty clear, all of them besides the two I mentioned. and these are addons I use quite regularly and they all work with the other custom UI's I've used here (the last one being LeeveUI 4.4)

@ Angrysteel:
I've uploaded a file which should show up under optional files once it's approved. Let me know if it works and what you come up with

@ Danda:
I'm contemplating adding a small "Locotech" addon in some future version that makes configuring the whole lot a lot faster. I'm not sure if I will do this, if it's even a good idea; and if it would be a good idea when I would end up doing that- but I thought I would give a heads up about it.

I like the look of the package, but I tried to configure it, but there were no Locotech profiles for any of the addons besides the Actionbars and buff bars, the rest had their profile options grayed out.
