Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

It's possible but not in StufRaid. StufRaid is optimized for raid only, so no use for just in party.

Making text capitalized with pattern tags.

Is there a way to capitalize text with a pattern tag? I didn't see anything in the pattern tag help, and trying different modifiers didn't work. Thanks.

Thanks for your tip regarding cooldown pies and aura timers on focus. That does work indeed.

My problem now: I increased the size of pets buff icons and focus aura timer. Afterwards I wanted to increase the font size too (from 1 to 2). Result: The numbers (of a stacking buff, still doing that Kaltarra dragon quest) were completely gone. On the Aura timer it looks as if they are somewhereto the left and right of it. I changed back to one and they stayed gone ... a bug? or did I do something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your work and support.

Edit: I copied stuf.lua from my backup and the numbers are back ... but still it should be possible to change font size.

"1" is just the default value shown if the number is not set. "2" is very small and barely visible if at all. Think of your word processor when it comes to font size.

Grid in party

Hello. First of all, I like design of this addon and addon itself. Thank you very much for it. I have just one question. I was usually healing with "Grid" addon also in 5-man instances. I have stuf and Stuf raid, but I cant find how to setup that these quarters (like grid) with players HP/Mana will show also in 5-man same as in raid. Is this even possible? If yes how? Thank you very much.

You could make your party look the same as your raid, and have it hide when you are in a raid.

Deficit HP bars

I have searched all through the thread here to find this info but couldn't:

Is it possible to get the HP bars to show as deficit bars, sort of like what Grid does? i.e. there is no bar at all until you take damage, then it grows from the right to left to show how much health you lack.

Using the basic setup of Grid as an example, just make the health bar color a custom black and change the background color method to class.

What complicates things is that i want the HP bar to be transparent and the deficit chunk to be opaque. So the HP area will be completely see-through when I am at full health.

Already denied that option since it would double Stuf's already large bar orientation table, and it would not fit in with the fade loss option.

yup fair enough :-)

I've gone for a Grid type appearance (no transparency) using the method you described (black HP bar Class Coloured background).

Fantastic addon btw. I thought Pitbull was the ultimate UF addon for a long time... but yours manages to be both more flexible and easier to use. Keep up the good work! :-D

I notice that if I enable 3D portraits for targettarget the animation is all stuttered. Any way to fix this? Thanks!

There's a tooltip warning that tells you this. No way to fix this unless you do not care for the portrait to update when the unit's model changes.

You're welcome. I believe you're the one who requested latency in casting bars, and you're not using it? Heh, just kidding. As long as people don't bother me to put all of Quartz features into Stuf, it's all good.
