Early Beta with Dungeon Locations moved to a separate plugin AddOn.

"_Utilities" Plugin for display of locations with Flight Masters, MailBoxes, Repair facilities on Zone maps;
And extra info on City maps of Banks / Auction Houses and Anvils/Forges....

"_TravelAgents" Plugin for displaying Flight Masters/Zeppelin Towers/Sea Ports/etc. on Continent maps - click on to see destinations.

Waypoint arrow support for Cartographer/TomTom via Right clicking on world map POIs

Fix to Carbonite support which 'tricks' other AddOns in to thinking TomTom is installed !

Update to MobMap Support + fix(es)

Update to MobMap Support (ad nauseum).

I don't understand this - you can't actually have them both installed at the same time. If you install the early Beta, then it overwrites any of your current AlphaMap files.

If you re-install the original AlphaMap, it will overwrite some folders, but will leave the "..._POI_Utilities" and "..._POI_TravelAgents" folders in place - so you should probably delete them or make sure you uncheck them.

What is "Alphamap_beta_instance_POI"? And what doesn't appear when you're in Naxx?

Just delete all the AlphaMap related folders from your AdddOn directory, and then re-install the main version.

Sorry. I was confused, too. I was using Alphamap, then downloaded this beta, and extracted it, not realizing that it overwrote the previous.

I think it's working, I just didn't activate the "instance" module.

This Time no error messages shown but if you are in an instance the instance map is not loaded e. g. in hdb it showed the map of northrend and so on. It's impossible to switch to the instance map manually because alpha map switches back automatically to the worldmap. This issue occurs in all early betas.

Another issue is if flight map is installed alphamap shows both icons for flightpoints. This is not very stylish because the icons are overlapping

This is usually caused by another AddOn that is changing the map - for example MobMap can cause this type of behaviour but I did try to resolve the issue in the latest AlphaMobMap...
You can use the AlphaMap Pause button to pause auto-updating, and then you 'should' be able to select any map you like....

I've tested a lot and found out that the automatic map update is caused by a setting in the atlas options. If this setting is disabled also the automatic map updates of alpha map are ending.

And yes i meant Dhask's Flight Map addon. Only his flightpoint symbols and this one of your AlphaMap_POI_TravelAgents are overlapping. So i disabled AlphaMap_POI_TravelAgents.

Last but not least i found another issue with AlphaMobMap. If i try to locate a npc with mobmap the marks shown on alpha map are not shown on their correct place. I've double checked this with the marks shown on the worldmap.

Yes, depending on accurate zone naming in AlphaMap - which language client are you using?

Yes, the Pause Button helps, but is not necessary if the option in atlas settings is disabled

I'm using the german client. It is still happening with the Atlas Option disabled. But not in all inis. I'll test this with the non Beta version if i have some spare time

I will try and investigate this further in the next couple of days...

AlphaMap uses the following 'type' of script to check where you are when you enter an Instance :

/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage( GetRealZoneText() )

And the returned text needs to agree with what AlphaMap has in its localisation.de.lua file.

For example, to display the correct map when you enter "Gun'Drak", then the above script should say :

GunDrak

(i.e. no apostrophe)
If GetRealZoneText() returns "Gun'Drak" or "Das Gun'Drak" or something else, then AlphaMap won't be able to display the correct map...

So for correct localisation I need to know what text is reported by the above script inside all the different Instances on each different language client. It needs to be EXACTLY alike, including special characters like 'umlauts', and making sure to include prefixes like "Das..." or "Der...", etc.


I will try to double check the German localisation file from the information available to me, but any localisation help is always welcome

You can take a look at the german atlas localisation file to get the correct spelling for the instances. I've never had problems with automatic instance detection and atlas.

I'm thinking I'll just have to put AlphaMap development on hold for a while


(Anyone who wants the new plugins of the Beta with the old version of MobMap support can unzip AlphaMobMap separately from the main line version of AlphaMap)

Maybe it's not an alpha map problem and the atlas option works in a way which is not correct?

Attempt to correct positioning of MobMap dots...

I don't think Atlas is changing the map at all (unless using Right-Clicks to open the WorldMap), so I'm left wondering if it is a more complex incompatibility involving AlphaMap + Atlas + something else...
(AlphaMap_MajorCities?)
i.e. is the error still happening with only AlphaMap and Atlas enabled?

[Which Atlas Option are we talking about anyway?]

We're talkin' about "Auto-Select Instance Map". If this option is selected, also alpha map begins to auto select maps.

The other problems we were talkin about have nothing to do with that.
