Arcana's Calendar Broker

Version: 0.2
by: Arcana [More]

Arcana's Calendar Broker is a LibDataBroker addon that allows the player to view pending calendar invites and access the in-game calendar. It was designed to be extremely simple.

This addon requires a LibDataBroker Viewer (such as ChocolateBar) so the user can see the information.

I wrote this addon after finding no LibDataBroker-compatible addons that allowed me to access the calendar quickly and easily without having to install other modules. This is essentially a feature-light version of FuBar_CalendarFu.

Is there any way you could change the text from "No Invites" to "0", or add an option to do so? It takes up a lot of space on the bar, a lot more than it does when you actually have an invite on your calendar.

It would be nice to be more consistently spaced, I haven't found a way to change this text or hide it yet.
You can do that yourself pretty easily:

Go to:
WoW>Interface>Addons>Arcana_CalendarBroker>Arcana_CalendarBroker.lua

hit Ctrl+F and type "invite"

hit enter twice, and replace "No invites" with "0" or whatever you'd like it to say, and voila, that should work.

I second the audio alert. With SharedMedia support if possible!

Re: Re: Re: You know what would be nice?

Edit: It seems as though what's happening here is that the tooltip it's producing in Button Bin is positioning itself right over the data object, blocking any clicks to it. As soon as I disabled tootips for that Object I was able to click on it.
Since I didn't really plan on building this for people other than myself (oops!) I didn't test this with too many other data broker viewers, I'll grab Button Bin and make sure that it works there.

"Panel" or "Pane" seems to be the generic reference term for most windows in WoW. In any case, I'd tried clicking on it but it didn't seem to open the Calendar.

Using Button Bin as a Display, if that matters at all. I'll double check this...

The audio idea is nice, I'll consider that
It would really mark this out from it's peers, and would really help me to keep track of invites.

Another thing that wouldn't be half bad is if I could open the Calendar panel by clicking the Object.

You know what would be nice?

An addon like this that has an Alert sound for either when you've been invited, or for when you have pending invites waiting- similar to LDB mail objects/feeds. I'm actually using a Broker Calendar feed and it doesn't do this. In fact, I don't know of any Calendar Objects for LDB (and there are few) that do. As I have my Minimap and most of my UI Elements completely reconfigured, I depend a lot on my Broker feeds to let me know when things happen.

I tend to forget to open the panel otherwise.

Another thing that wouldn't be half bad is if I could open the Calendar panel by clicking the Object.

I'll keep an eye on this.
