PerfectRaid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v90001-1.0
by: Cladhaire [More]

PerfectRaid is a whole new look on raid frames, giving you as much information as possible in an easily recognizable format that's easy to place. Show as much or as little as you're interested in, and completely customize using the each options editor.

Use /praid to open the configuration GUI.

  1. A preliminary frame editor is in game. It can be kind of complex at the moment, but it comes with a nice set of defaults for you to use.
  2. Added a pre-made buff dropdown to the buff editor screen

Re: Debuff Notifications

The debuff is just called, "Iron Roots" and make sure you check the "All" check box. I currently have perfect raid setup to display this debuff and it works great. You can't go wrong with these raid frames.

Re: Debuff Notifications

As the previous poster says, you can definitely configure PRaid's buffs to work like this. In addition I hope to make it easier in the future, by showing a ilst of the spells you have encountered.. saving you some typing.

Ahhh k. Yeah, since the mini-boss' debuff is Iron Roots (which means your macro must be /tar Iron Roots) when you're fighting him alone, but during Freya HM with him up it becomes Strengthened Iron Roots (which means your macro must be /tar Strengthened etc etc).

So I thought that I would have to type the name precisely as you must do for the macro and as seen on many other addons when adding a custom filter of any sort.

Ok, I should be able to give it a go in our 10man run this weekend and then implement it for Sunday's raid.

Ok, so one question though. Say I add this debuff, will it then start to show up in the drop-down list from then on out?

But for future reference, how would I have known to name the Strengthened Iron Roots debuff "Iron Roots" in order to get it to show up in the frames? I ask because since there is no 'Demo Mode' with PRaid, its important to be 100% confident you entered something important like this correctly Prior to combat. And I'm sure there are others out there that will be similar to this and I need to teach everyone how to automatically know how to enter it ahead of time.

But again, thanks so much. This really is an A+ addon.

No, you'd have to add it to the code of the addon. The ability to share configurations is something that I've wanted for quite some time now, but have never had the time to implement.

There is no way to know, other than to test yourself by comparing the name on the buff with what you've typed in. When hovering over it on your player, you can see the name of it.

Again, debuffs and buffs would ideally be listed in a "buff catcher" that helps you easily set up Praid buffs, but again time is my enemy.

Re: Time

I'm with ya there. I'm spread so thin I (insert lame analogy).

But yeah, this is a great addon nevertheless. You know what I think would be cool and would give you some leeway as to plugging these options into the addon is to compile some sort of database of buffs/debuffs through the use of your forums or something like that (haven't really thought it through too well, but you get the idea).

That way, you could have the users sort of do the work for you. Anytime someone is on a boss or something and needs to add a custom buff, they add it to a thread and you collect them into a sticky. Beyond that, you could package that information in the form of a text file or something that users could fall back to.

Just brainstorming here

Nevermind that - we ran into a problem last night. Around 6-8 members downloaded the addon before raid and could not move the frames properly. When they dragged the frames, the mouse would not let go and would continue moving the frames around the screen until a /rl ui.

Many of them either raided last night with the frames in the middle of their screen or not at all due to this issue. How do we fix this?

This should only happen in bizarre circumstances.. but clearly you had them if everyone encountered it. They should be able to stop the frame with:

/run PRHeader1:StopMovingOrSizing()

and I'm sorry for the issue.

a little request...

I've got a question concerning the HoT display preferences... would it be possible to alter the code to only display the buffs/heal over time spells you casted yourself?
Would be awesome

(and another thing... what about the bars if you enter a vehicle or a dragon... for example at the eye of eternity it's qute annoying if you have to switch to old blizzard frames in phase 3 to see the health bars )

1.) Yes, just click the "Mine" or "Show mine" or whatever option it is in the buff configuration.

2.) I hope to release a vehicle friendly version rather soon, I'm just not sure that I'll get a good opportunity to test it.

Ooh, updates.

With r192, if someone is riding a vehicle, and you click their button in PerfectRaid, it accurately targets the vehicle rather than the player driving it.

However, the health continues to reflect that of the player (not the vehicle); no change from previous behavior.

If I run into anything else I will post here

Hrm, okay I'll play with it a bit more and see what I can do.

I've had a recurring issue with players being displayed under different names in PRaid (e.g. "Bob" will show up as "John" on the nameplate, with the real "John" in a different group), and players showing up "Dead" even though they're alive (this only applies after they have previously died and then returned; e.g. their status doesn't update). Usually it's only one or two people affected by this. I've just upgraded to 192, so I'll report if the issue still exists, but so far I haven't for the life of me been able to figure out a reproducible scenario for this.

It doesn't happen with 5 or less people in the group from what I've seen, so it might just be a freak glitch with numbers getting thrown around oddly in large raids; a /rl fixes it reliably in every case, but it seems to be most prevalent in crowded battlegrounds like AV. I've tried it with PRaid running standalone, so it's not another addon interfering with the process.

Will add more (actually useful) information to this as soon as I've run 192 for a bit. Thank you once again for making one of the best raidhealing addons there are out there.

Question own buffs...

do I have to check another option aside from "display only own buffs"? because if just check this one (on any spell, no matter what) the buffs of the others are still displayed
