Gem Quota  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: r20090805
by: Shadowed [More]

Gem Quota gives you total number of gems you have in the character screen by color, along with total stats gained from each gem color even does rating -> percentage calculations! Also shows meta gem status and requirements including how many gems you require (and currently have) to meet the activation requirement.

Thanks Beladona for helping with the tooltip scanning and general ideas.

For bug reports or feature suggestions
From now on I will be using the portal WoWI provides for bug reports, as it is much easier for me to manage with a lot of addons and limited time. You can find a link below the download button, or at http://www.wowinterface.com/portal.php?id=269

Date: Mon Dec 17 22:56:55 2007 +0000

* Fixed an error for people using meta gems with a requirement of at least X gems.

* Improved gem stat scanning, not 100% fool-proof but it should break a lot less from new gems being added and be more resilient in general

Date: Thu May 31 22:54:05 2007 +0000

Date: Thu May 24 20:44:44 2007 +0000

Hang on, I just noticed this is in the beta category; is it supposed to work on the Public Test Realms only? That would explain that it won't work for me with live WoW (already tried removing the old localization files)...

Let me know if it should work with 2.0.x too, and I will dig into it and try to locate the problem

No the beta category is mods under development that may not be stable yet, the current code works in both 2.0 and 2.1, and while theres some code that exists for 2.1 inside it's not currently in use.

Are you possibly using a different localization besides enUS?

Quite peculiar: I can get it to work on my bank alt, but not on the mains. Locale is enGB, and obviously the bank runs on a somewhat limited addon set, I just haven't figured out what addon is conflicting. It's just like the addon isn't running, none of the / commands work.

It's just like the addon isn't even running.

Try typing

/script ChatFrame1:AddMessage( "ENABLED: " .. tostring( IsAddOnLoaded( "GemCount" ) ) );

On the account thats having trouble, if it says "1" then try typing /script GemCountDB = nil; and then a reloadui and see if that fixes it.

The only mod I could think of that would cause conflict is one that modifies the textures of gem icons on the item tooltip.

Example of what the screen will look like once 2.1 is out, http://ctscreens.net/6327

For hybrid gems like Glowing Nightseye (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24056) it'll split the stats to the correct color, meaning 6 Stamina will be listed under Blue gem stats and 5 Spell Damage under Red.

Nope, still nothing. I don't even get the dropdown.

Either way, I've managed to track down the conflicting addon: Clique.

Hope this helps. Clique to me as a raiding pally is slightly more important than Gemcounter :P

Unable to replicate this I just downloaded the latest Clique and it's working fine.

Try updating Clique and try again.

0.3.0 up, this will only work in WoW 2.1 and includes some new features like better gem information and counting.

No 0.3.0 only works on 2.1, you could download 0.2.4 but if you're US you'll be on WoW 2.1 tomorrow, and if you're EU I believe they get it in a day or so.

Nice idea. But v0.3.1 (you really should have the version number in the TOC and/or the ZIP file name) produces an error mousing over socketed items in WoW 2.1 live (USEng). First time I have installed this.

"GemCount\\GemCount.lua:209: table index is nil\nGemCount\\GemCount.lua:304: in function `ScanGem'\nGemCount\\GemCount.lua:349: in function `ScanItems'\nGemCount\\GemCount.lua:116: in function `ScanAndUpdate'\nGemCount\\GemCount.lua:73: in function <Interface\\AddOns\\GemCount\\GemCount.lua:68>\n<in C code>: ?\n<in C code>: in function `Show'\nInterface\\FrameXML\\UIParent.lua:1077: in function `SetUIPanel':\nInterface\\FrameXML\\UIParent.lua:876: in function `ShowUIPanel':\nInterface\\FrameXML\\CharacterFrame.lua:20: in function `ToggleCharacter':\n<string>:\"TOGGLECHARACTER0\":1: in function <[string \"TOGGLECHARACTER0\"]:1"

In the process of getting everything setup for SVN, revision numbers will be used then.

Looking into it

Unable to replicate, could you list the gems (armor doesn't matter) that you're using or give a link to an armory profile thats causing this issue.

Here's a profile where it doesn't work with. It just spits out errors,

http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#c...renden&n=Jesse

and here's the error

Identical errors that I recieved and posted about below (this poster is using Stubby while I'm using the Ace2 BugSack/BugGrabber to record the errors, though).

The errors happen not only mousing over the character frame, but also non-armor things in the character's backpacks.

The character I tried this mod with on before disabling it has a single meta gem (released with BC, its not new: Swift Starfire Diamond ) & several Uncommon quality gems (also released with BC, nothing new) such as Runed Blood Garnet.

GL on getting this to work.
