BlkUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.3B
by: Blacksad [More]

RESOLUTION: 1920X1080

A sleek looking, minimalist, all purpose Rogue UI.

Everything is set to track buffs/debuffs/procs/CD times in PvE and should require next to no setup.

Although this is set up to be Rogue specific, you can simply use any character class.

For PvP target defensive cooldowns are tracked via Weakauras, and personal CC abilities via icons above nameplates.

Let me know if you have any questions.

(Ctrl click Skada button to reset data)

Directions:

The person who downloads this has to unpack everything using an application which can unzip folders (Winzip, etc.), and then put all the folders in his / her World of Warcraft folder.

Copy your current WTF/Interface folders to your desktop to back them up before installing.

You then place the downloaded WTF/Interface folders into your Wow directory in their place.

When you download this, edit the folders to rename them from the generic "Account Name", "Server", "Character" to your actual accountname - the same goes for the server- and characternames. Do this first, before you even load up the game. Otherwise, the settings for everything will not take, and you may have to do it over to get everything working properly.

Upon entering game, make sure all addons are enabled! Make sure "Load out of date Addons" is checked!!!

Once loaded with all addons enabled, you will get a pop-up asking if you want to install BlkUI. Choose "Yes", and you should be pretty much good to go.

If any profiles for specific addons have issue loading, you may choose the Blk_UI profile for said addon.

You can then copy your bindings-cache.wtf and macros-cache.txt in from your backed up desktop folders, and keep your previous macros/keybindings.

Don't update Sharedmedia or Sharedmedia: Additional Fonts, as they it will overwrite the in-game font settings.

Addons Included:

Aurora, Bagnon, Bartender, Gnosis, Raven, Fonter, VuhDo, HideBossFrame, HideRaidFrame, Stuf Unit Frames, Reflux, SharedMedia, WeakAuras, Phanxchat, SexyMap, Skada, KgPanels, Tidyplates, Tiptac, DBM, HideBlizzardRaidFrame, Rogue Spam Reborn.

Changed loader to work correctly. (Thanks to Real of RealUI!)

Added in the option to toggle most of the UI on/off at will.

Redid boss frames to look better and have a castbar.

Lots of odds and ends.

Hello again.

So, this thing is driving me fucking nuts (apologies my french). How on earth can you make Raven to show the god damn debuff tooltips? I've tried enabling ANYTHING with the word tooltip in it, NOTHING is working.

Some Q's

Wanna try this just wondering if I am able to use it ONLY on the rogue and keep all my other addons and settings the same.

Also I checked screenshots. Do you have a seperate stun section for STUNS only. I like to differentitate stuns from the other things like wound poison on a target etc...

Lemme know

Thanks!

Whenever I do the reflux command it does not seem to have any affect on Vuhdo for me. I go into the options get it set up to how I like, not a big deal. Now, when I go into a raid, I get a raid frame layout of everyone in the in the raid right above my name plate.

I have gone through and deactivated each add-on individually and I still get the raid grid above my name whenever I am in a raid group.

Not sure where this is coming from or perhaps it is a skinned version of Blizzard raid frames. I really have no clue and am at a loss.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks

Turn of Aura tracking in Quartz and Stuf. Disable Stuf raid.

Re: Some Q's

You can, create a new folder and create a symlink of your data folder.

For example:

create C:\Rogue

run cmd.exe and put

c:\> mklink /D C:\rogue\data ..\path\to\your\main\warcraft\folder

This should create a symbolic link of your data folder (saves HD space) All you have to do is copy all the files (excluding folders) in your main warcraft to c:\rogue and install this UI. Create a shortcut to your desktop and it SHOULD only have that UI setup. When you wanna swap to a character, exit out and open WoW normally.

Quest tracking issue

Hello there, first of all thanks for an awesome UI!

My problem though seems elusive, I cant seem to get the errors and quest progress to show in
"blizzard UIErrorsFrame" or any of the other frames available for Errorfilter.

If I use /script UIErrorsFrame:Show() it will show the errors and quest progress for a few seconds but then stops showing them. Dunno what is causing this behavior since I tried deleting Errorfilter without any change. Not that worried about the error messages not showing naturally but the quest progress is kinda a big deal for me.

So my question: Is there any of the other addons in the UI that supresses
"blizzard UIErrorsFrame" or is it some other issue?

Probably "Addon Chat-message hider". Either that, or because I have LUA errors turned off by default. Just turn them on under the Help menu.

Hey, I feel like a moron. This is the first time I have used something like this, I have always tried my own ui. I guess a step by step is in question for me. Again I feel so stupid for not understanding how this works.

So I did everything up to the /reflux switch Blk_UI part correctly. My question is which addons do I need to set the profile to what you use? My resolution is the same (1980-1080) yet when I go /bt and select Blacksad from Kilrogg, the things dont fit in the boxes like they should. I am thourohly confused maybe i shouldnt be doing something like this.

Currently I have it so /reflux switch Blk_UI resets it so theres nothing on my screen but the black lines and skada attached to it. I just want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong.

Any help would be appriciated. I would really like this get this to work.

EDIT: So I figured most of it was just hidden after doing /reflux switch Blk_UI and you put CDs on the mid bar. Cool. My next question is that I use the razer naga mouse for keybinds. Is that hidden anywhere on the screen so I can drag abilities on and off it?

Press the little bar down on the bottom right of Skada's window and your action bars pop up.

For the Map, choose Load Global Profile, and the map should pop into place.

Thanks after messing around with it it is really coming together. Thanks for doing this.

I just did an LFR to see how it handled in a raid enviroment and I have a question. The boss button that comes out when special mechanics happen, (Garajal spirit realm, twin emps oppertunist strike, etc) did not appear anywhere for me. I can't find where that would be located. Can you please direct me to where that is set?

The extra action button will pop up to the right of your normal Cooldown bar if it's available, directly between those and Skada.

You can load it up for your Warrior the same way you do by loading it up for any other character. Just /reflux switch Blk_UI and it should take. I've been leveling a Warrior actually, and it works fine.

To update the UI from a Previous version, you'll have to do a full reinstall, unfortunately, as there's no way to update specific pieces of it without it being a mess.

I aplogize for being completely new at this... this is my first run at a custom UI though.

Because I am playing on a different resolution I know I need to move some things around, and I have almost everything set but two things.

There are two, for lack of a better descriptions, squares with brackets facing the center of the screen coming off of them. I don't know wht they are, but they are definitely not in the right spot. I can't figure out how to move them. What add-on are they a part of? The one to the right side of the screen contains the DPS tracker. I can move that but it doesn't take the frame/bracket with it.

There is also a rectangular frame tha sits under the micro buttons (about half as wide and twice as thick), I can't figure out what it is or how to move it out from underneath.

Could someone please point me to a screen shot of this UI in action to review and offer me some suggestions on it?

Those are all KGPanels, which is a program which imports artwork or borders which you can code to attach to any frame or castbar, etc. You can move them easily. Just /Kgpanels config and look through the "active panels". If you "unlock" any panel and mouse over it, it will light up blue, so you can help tell which is which.

At that point, instead of moving them with your mouse, id mess with the X/Y coordinates that are listed for each, as you can make it exact to what you need rather than eyeballing it. When you're done, lock panels.

So, in the center of the brackets are where your cooldowns go. Not buttons you press, but the abilities whose times you want to keep track of. There's an empty bartender bar there, and you put stuff on it.

The little button by the micro menu is for poisons.

The one on the very far right is for Mounts/Professions.

There's a photo on the main page which I've typed out what everything is.
