lolTip  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.2
by: Lolzen [More]

Explanation
Once i experienced Lua for the first time, i've ever since dreamed about making my very own tooltip.
Someday i really did it, and i've learned much trough this addon. It has grown very much since the release back then.

What can lolTip do?
lolTip features following Stuff:

  • Unitnames colors in class/reactioncolor
  • Level displayed in difficultycolor
  • Own Guild Coloring
  • Show GuildRank, GuildRankName next to the Guild
  • Target on the topright if exists
  • RaidIcon
  • Anchor changeable to follow the mouse
  • Hides Playertitles in Tooltip
  • Nicer Style if PvP is activated on mouseoverunit
  • ItemQualitycolored tooltipborders
  • Healthbar inside the Tooltip
  • Modifiable HealthBar-values in different Styles
    -percentage (37%)
    -numeral (3489/5000)
    -shortened (42.3k)
    -diff (-29399)
-They also can be mixed up like diff and shortened (-37.4k)
  • de/activateable modules
    -Talents
-disable fading, and hide tooltip instant instead
    -Dont popup Actionbartooltips inFight
    -Buffdisplay under the Tooltip
  • Easy changeable colors
  • Support for ManyItemTooltips (Skinning)
  • Support for Class Colors (Custom Class Colors)

Modules Q&A
Q:So what are this modules, and why are they there anyway?
A:The modules are tiny additions to the Tooltip not everyone might wants to have activated. So they are deactivatable.
Q:I want module xy.
A:You can a) Request it, or b) make it you own and send it to me per PM, and i'll add it in the next Release. Personally i prefer b, because i want to focus on the main Addon, not the modules, but also want to give the users the chance to habe a customable, yet not bloated Addon.

Other
To modify the border and StatusBartexture, you'll have to replace the blp's. (Also tga's possible)

Configuration
The configuration will be done through lua only.
You may open tip.lua and at the very top you'll find the configuration
Also there is a little config in lolTip\modules\buffs.lua
There you can modify the maxumum auras displayed, the size of them, the x & y offsets and add filters (no worry, a small text from WoWWiki should describe it fairly easy)

Thanks to
Aezay, Cargor & Seerah
You! for Reporting bugs, and suggestions

Hope you enjoy lolTip as much as i do,
Lolzen

Yes, this issue is well known by me, i even wrote it in the "toDo & Known Issues" part ;P
First i wanted to fix this before an update, but then i changed my mind. In the past days i couldn't fix this right, and to my bad, i don't have much time these days :S
Because this is only a small bug (i think), i thoght it would be the best to share my work so far, and leave it like that until i've got a solution :>

Anyways, thanks for the hint ;D

I've noticed a thing with the latest update. The target-line update is awesome, but have a small flaw... (Used myself to test it out), when i hover myself (no target), it shows as normal, but when i target myself (still hovering my UF), the target-line appears behind the statusbar for some reason. When i hover myself again while still targeting me the line moves back to its original spot.

Hope you can resolve this issue. =)

When does it appear? like, when somebody hushes through your screen?
I'll sure look into that, but as is see you're using the SVN version. Is there another error beside of this one, and the healthbar one? (i think i fixed the healthbar, testet on a full ab yesterday)

If you take the time to actually look inside it you'd see one image named 'UI-StatusBar' and another named 'UI-Tooltip-Border'.

Hopefully you can imagine that these are for, the status bar, and the border.

First go to Interface/AddOns/lolTip/ and open core.lua (at least) with notepad, i recomment notepad++ (yeah there are much others out there, don't start a war whats better, or whats worse, mkay? )
Then the stuff you qouted should make sense =)
I you decided just to open the file with notepad, get nifty!
*do "strg + f"
*type "tooltip:SetOwner" without quotes. Enter
*you will jump to the text. replace the text in the lua file with this one here.
*search for "tooltip:SetPoint" with the same method as before.
set two "--" without quotes before that, so it should look like "--tooltip:SetPoint"
Save & close file and have fun playing in the World of Warcraft =D

Working heavily on new version.
Very much improvemments after my bud was checking my mess there.

I was wondering how to do that...I have no programing or mod creating experience at all myself. or was wondering if you could set up a options menu so we could decide to anchor it to the mouse or not?
thanks

hmpf, i'm defently doing something wrong :S
One time i had the Errormessage myself, but after /rl it wasnever seen again. Hopefully the next update will fix this, i added the "if (not unit) then" everywhere i thought it would make sense.

anyways, I Started to work up updating for the targetline the last two days. Progress is fine as i'm learnig much, but didn't get it to work right now. I feel there is not much space between the fuction is now and the finish.
