DockingStation (Display)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.5.26 (Beta)
by: Vrul [More]

A display platform for LibDataBroker (LDB) based plug-ins. The display is provided through panels, each having sections (Left, Center, Right) corresponding with how a plugin is justified within it.

All plugins are disabled by default and you must turn on the ones you want to use. This is to avoid the complete mess that results from all plugins being on with the first use. The only plugin on at the start is the one provided by this addon to access its options easily. Just click it to start changing settings.

With plugins unlocked you can drag and drop them to other panels/sections and have them automatically adjust to their new location. There are no limitations on the drag and drop capabilities other than the new location for a plugin must be within a panel. You may also change the location of a plugin through the plugin options menu.

Almost all sub-sections of settings have a default option. The defaults follow a set pattern. First plugins check their settings, if default, they next go to their panel's settings. If the panel is also set to default then it defers to the addon's global settings. Finally, if the global settings are still set to default, then the hard coded defaults are used.

Note: It is recommended that you delete the folder(s) for an existing addon when updating to a different version. This is to keep files that are no longer used from taking up space.

Translators: To submit a translation please just edit existing files (example: DockingStation\Locales\deDE.lua and DockingStation_Config\Locales\deDE.lua) and send them to me.

port your fubar plugins

Thank you very much for Docking Station, i finally moved away from fubar because of it. Coincidentally enough the fubar plugins that I miss the most are the ones you made. They don't appear to be compatible with fubar2broker either. Please consider rewriting these plugins as a native LDB object.

Only other option from fubar I miss is how fubar would move blizzard default frames slightly to make room for the bar. Any way you can add this to docking station? Thanks for all your hard work for the addon community.

I'm finally converting from FuBar. Thank you for making the config LOD; AceDBOptions-3.0 should also be loaded with the config.

For the list of available plugins, please show them in a scroll list instead of a dropdown to improve user friendliness.

Bug when using 2 different LDB displays

I've noticed a bug when I have 2 different displays loaded (such as Carousel). In the Blizzard Interface Options panel, Carousel has a sub-category for each of the plugins (unlike DS which has a dropdown menu). As DS has it's own LDB plugin, the options to control the panels and plugins for DS is appearing under the DockingStation sub-category in the Carousel category, instead of where they should be. The interface settings look a bit like this:

Code:
|
 - Carousel
| |
| -DockingStation -> Carousel's Settings for the DS plugin.
| |
| - DockingStation's Panels Settings
| |
| - DockingStation's Plugins Settings
| |
| - DockingStation's Profiles Settings
|
 -DockingStation -> DockingStation's Main Settings

I was planning on splitting BagBar into two seperate addons when I ported it over to LDB. One would cover the bags as a plugin and the other would be all the options for the containers when opened. I'll look into splitting the container portion off sooner than planned.

another request :)

thx for that - found it yesterday and changed from FuBar to DockingStation.

After looking at many LDB Plugins theres only ONE FuBar Plugin I really miss and dont work with FuBar2Broker:

Fubar - BagBar....

today i looked around a bit - and.. you are also the author of BagBar?!

I dont care about the display of the bags on the bar itself - that would be nice - but I really care about the positioning of the bags.

i'm using 3 monitors - and to popup the bags on the right side of the right screen (Blizz defaults) is far away from the area where the bank, vendor, trades etc will popup (middle screen). So i love the option in BagBar to move the bagpack - and ALL bags follow them.

Other MovingFrameAddons dont handle the bags - or i have to position them manually - with the problem, that on different chars with different bags the layout is... terrible.

So just a petition from an old man: bring BagBar to LDB

Bug Report

Latest version I can no longer control individual plugin display options or general options.

Can only choose what panel the plugin resides on.

I love it.

After trying a few other display addons such as fortress and buttonbin and barrel. I have to say, this is my favorite.

One request though, would be to add a setting to change the size of the tooltips like buttonbin has.

i have a fix to get around the bug i reported on below (see screenshots). please note i have 4 bars all tweaked to precise settings, so if your setup is not as advanced as mine, you may not even encounter a problem. first thing i did was set up the main global defaults to be as close as possible to the needed settings. next i went to the individual panel and plugin settings to touch up everything perfectly. what i did not do was set any plugin defaults from the individual panel setting. i believe this is where the issue is located. hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.

So, I apologize, but I am a bit confused. I had these minimap icons before I installed the databroker core (Was statblock, now trying DockingStation). It's not like I had another program create them for me. The addons themselves (Like Grid, Dr. Damage, etc) have their own minimap icon functionality built in.. to my knowledge. I had MM icons for those two addons in particular until I installed DockingStation... then they suddenly disappeared.
Are you using FuBar2Broker by any chance ?

Both Grid and Dr. Damage are still using FuBarPlugin-2.0. As I mentioned before, if you load these plugins without FuBar being loaded or even present, the library itself will create minimap buttons for you. The only time this won't happen, as far as I know, is if you have FuBar2Broker enabled.

You don't. Contrary to FuBarPlugin-2.0 and LibFuBarPlugin, LibDataBroker does not provide the code/option to create minimap buttons as an "alternative" of having bar/block data objects. There is a library called LibDBIcon that some broker plugins use, in order to provide this functionality but not all authors use it/include in, in their plugins.

So, it would seem that many of these data broker display cores (DockingStation, Statblock Core, etc) give you the option of creating blocks for various other addons. Problem is, if I don't want blocks for those and I just want to keep those addons on the minimap, I can't do that. I disable the Databroker plugin part, but my minimap buttons appear to have been eaten.

DS made "plugins" for Grid and DrDamage, for instance, and even after disabling them, I can't get the minimap icons for those two addons back. How do I fix this?
