Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

SBF 3.2 with clickable buffs

* ha filters should behave a little bit better now
* Vehicle buff frames will update and clear when you exit a vehicle

Noticed it this morning as well:

Also noticed they flickered in combat as well as changed to the nearing expiry color and back.

++edit++

Thinking back, the issue may have arisen after a UI reload... I was working on something at the time and doing a bit of reloading. Also, the ButtonFacade settings don't always load correctly after a /rl - instead of the medium blue in the pic I'll get a cyan. Had said because I rarely reload under normal circumstances and it's purely cosmetic

The weapon enchant is being funky at the moment, it keeps going to it's normal time and then spending the majority of it's time on 00:00

Never used the 'to' filter (don't play a shaman), but this should work,
just make a whitelist filter "my&!to"

performance related questions:
I use CPU profiling, to see what addons use the most resources (25man raid FPS is a real issue for everybody and CPU limited), and up there are PowerAuras an SatrinaBuffFrames (many days ago, it was DoTimer dominating all addons, it is really bad written).

So first question:
In game, when one types "/sbf throttle", it says range is 0.05 to 1.0. I can set it to 1.0, but when i log out and back in, it's set back to 0.2. If I set 0.5 (given as maximum on the HP), it remembers the 0.5 after logout/-in. A bug? If not, please make 1.0 possible and usable in the long run.

Second question:
I have a normal player buff anchor, and a second player buff anchor for special buffs (a subset of the first anchor). Is filtering out a buff in the first anchor via blacklist and n="...." filter less CPU heavy than showing the buff, and thus having a shorter filter list? (I assume the first case)

I keep getting an error with SBF and buttonfacade. I use the normal frames and create two others for target buffs and target debuffs.

However, when I have it finally working, and I change anything in buttonfacade under the main options of SBF options, nothing changes for one frame. It used to be target debuffs I was having problems with, but now its player debuffs.

The backrop is still showing, even though the general buttonfacade, SBF, and player debuff options all have transparency set to 0%.

If you aren't a shaman, the to filter won't do anything useful for you (as noted in the documentation on the SBF site...)
[/b]
Thank you very much for your answer. The Show Tracking unchecked might be the case. Shame on me if it is. Did not read the full documentation I am sorry to admit. However I will just make one frame set to whitelist a (auras). If I understand you correctly, it will show, auras, tracking and totems.

Thank you for a great addon and taking your time answering noobs like me.

its still a bit bugged with Button Facade borders. I'm using Dek addon for BF and more times than not the boarders are bugged. (not showing up correctly)

I also have 1 suggestion. Make filters its own profiles setup. That way i can set up a universal layout for all my characters and not have to change everyone's profile settings when i change one little thing on my layout or have to redo my filters on all my characters. Because right now I have a ton of filters set for each of my characters but It will be a huge pain when i want to rearrange my layout for all my characters.

EDIT: So I'm thinking its not the borders thats the issue, its the glossy feature from BF. It seems the boarders get a brighter boarder from the gloss feature with Dek. So if there's any way to fix the gloss to work 100% of the time with SBF that would be awsome.

Also another suggestion: Allow the showing of vehicle buffs/debuffs for all custom frames, not just the default player buffs and debuffs frames.

Just popping in to say that my SBF also reset when Ryan7395 posted. It's happened 2 or 3 times since I've started using it. It's a bit of a headache to rebuild it from scratch, but I have no idea what's causing it. But it's certainly not an isolated incident.

That being said, absolutely amazing addon, keep up the great work!

SBF 3.1.18 - Ran into a few little things that need fixing while raiding last night, but have been in meetings all day so far. Should be able to get it done and out a bit later this afternoon!

JStresse - There is no technical reason why negation can't be made to work with any given filter, and negation will be made to work with my in the next filter revamp. The main problem with the ! modifier is that almost everyone makes whitelist frames, and of course every buff will match that sort of filter unless you make a compound filter like n=somebuff&!my.

The problem with just going ahead and making it work is the immediate influx of people going I used !my in my whitelist frame and it shows every buff, SBF sucks/is bugged/you suck!, when in fact we have a case of PEBKAC. However, I still get a huge increase in posts here and email that needs to be dealt with, so these things take time to get right. Changes like this require extra code to validate what the user is inputting to save them from themselves, or at least ask if that's what they really mean to do.

In any case, making the totem filter work correctly for non-shamans is on the list of things to do, and may get done for SBF 3.2
