WeightsWatcher gives you an easy to use way to compare gear based on the actual stats, not just the item level.
Currently, all base stats, gems in non-crafted sockets, and enchants should be handled properly. Also, gems are suggested based on the weights you have enabled. Note that crafted sockets and other "stacking" enchants are not currently handled, because they are not detectable through the WoW API.
All weights can be changed as you see fit, and you can create and enable as many or as few as you would like.
The default stat weights are provided by AskMrRobot.com, with their consent. Everything else the mod does is of our own creation, and does not use the AskMrRobot.com optimization formulas.
Endgame players will probably want to create hit- and/or expertise- capped weights, which is easily done by copying an existing weight and setting the appropriate values to 0.

Interesting. Can you check the FrameXML.log file for me? It should be in the Logs subfolder of your WoW installation. I could also use the output of /ww version in-game. |

I'm not receiving any errors, but the addon doesn't seem to be allowing me to show the weights by using a key modifier. No weights show up when the option is set to "Show Always" either.
I have updated to the latest version of the addon as well, and have also tried playing with just this addon to see if other addons are interfering with it. So far, it just seems to -not work- in 5.0.4, with no errors popping up (for me at least). |

Version 1.6 Released
The main change is MoP support. I think I got everything that worked before 5.0.4 working again, but I'm happy to look into anything that looks funny.

First of all, I apologize for the delayed response -- I was on a work trip this week. Yes, you will need to translate or replace the patterns that allow WeightsWatcher to read the tooltips before anything useful will happen. If this is something you are willing to help with, I can get you started with instructions and some helper code. I will issue my standard "this is bigger than you think" warning -- you will have to do a lot of work to get WeightsWatcher working even partially for esES (or any locale). --IQgryn |

Hi,
I have made a copy of locale enUS to esES, add esES to locales.xml, replaced all enUs to esES strings in locale\esES files, and WeightsWatcher load without errors, but just shows 0.000 in every field at tooltips. I need to translate every file in locale\esES\*.lua to proper working??? Thanks. |

Version 1.5r4 Released
The main change is a nil error fix on some items (thanks to Faüst for the report and enough information to track it down), but there are a few other fixes as well. I also bumped the TOC to indicate WW is 4.3-compatible (though it always has been). See the change log for details.

Version 1.5r3 Released
I am sorry that it took so long, but 1.5r3 is now released. The major change is moving to using Mr. Robot's weights by default. Thank you to Daagar for the suggestion, and Mr. Robot for allowing us to use their weights.
You will need to restore the default weights to see the new defaults. See the change log for full details. As always, feedback is welcomed. Post it here, send me a PM, or e-mail [email protected].

For decent default weights, ask the folks at askmrrobot.com if you can embed theirs. Granted, some classes (hunters) will still yet at you that they aren't perfect, but they will typically be closer than wowhead. For some classes (spriest) they will be about as accurate as is possible.
Another alternative is to use the weightings that are generated and posted at simulationcraft.org. Also very accurate and almost always up to date. |
