Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

I'm talking about those buttons that are supposedly come to lower middle of your screen (above default cast bar I think) when you have, let's say, the hammer during Hoptallus fight in the brewery instance. I can see the counter (how many are killed out of 40), but can't see the button to smash the bunnies during the Hoptallus encounter and I found it to be an issue with unit frames, yet I can't find what makes it hidden.
Aren't you talking about the extra action button? If so, that's action bars, not unit frames. Check out BEAB (better extra action button) addon and that might get it back for you.

Issue with Data tags

Hi,

I am currently using your add-on for a number of frames, namely:

Player
Target
Focus
Target of Target
Target of Focus

I have this issue where some of the data elements are not loaded, but instead the text contained in the element instead.

For example Player --> Text 1 I currently have in the text pattern field [name]

Now pre panda this used to load my characters name, but now about 70%+ of the time it just displays the actual text name.

In the Text 5 field i have [perchp]% but again it usually just shows perchp%

I usually get around this issue by reloading my ui multiple times until it works, but as soon as I enter an instance and the screen reloads I am back to the same old problems. This often means before we engage raid bosses i have to reload several times (it's pretty hard to tank the stone guard without knowing the name of the mob im targeting).

I have ensured that the add-on is upto date, so I don't believe this to be the issue.

If you need more information please let me know.

Thanks for your time looking at this and providing an awesome add-on which I have used now for a very long time without issue.

Chi, Shadow orb etc

Would it be possible to enable the chi orbs, shadow orbs...etc bar to be flipped. so i can have the orbs above the unit frame without looking out of place?

* For buffs/debuffs moving around, check the "Push" settings.
* Yeah, sorry, do this for Monk colors:
Code:
/run StufDB.global.classcolor.MONK = {r = 0,g = 1,b = 0.588,a = 1}; ReloadUI();
* Settings are that way for a reason. We know what to call when we get picky with texts and indicators.

Thanks for Stuf... I recently switched to it from X-Perl (which I really like but has has some buggy updates in mop). I have a suggestion and a question...

1) I think the Stuff config would be a little simpler if it were possible to create set of "named styles" (aka "main-left-justified", "main-right-justified", "mini")... and then each specific frame (player, pet, etc) would just have a "named style", "scale", "position".

Stuf currently has a totally separate style-config for every frame (i.e. party 1, party 2, etc.) where I think 99% of users only need 2-3 unique styles for everything. Right now we have to "tweak" things in every single frame-type-config to adjust them. For example, I want to adjust the offset of the LFG role icon, and I have to do it in (player, party1, party2, party3, party4), and I'd prefer to just do it in a single "main-style" config.

2) Is StufRaid working for folks?

I grouped by class and adjused width and now I have a pile of boxes all laying over the top of each other (even after restart). Is this not ready for prime time?

My debuffs keep swapping places on my targets unit frame. Seems like every other mob they swap positions. Any help here would be great!

How would I go about changing the default LFG role icons to text? I.e. '+' for healer, '*' for dps, "#' for tank

No Phased Indicator

The one thingt I noticed missing off the player and party frames was a phased indicator. Is there any chance of having that added sometime soon as it woulld make life so much easier in some cases.
Thanks

@WickedJinx

The combo point display is controlled by the target frame. Have a check under that header, it is the last option called "Combo Frame"

Goodluck!

How can i make target name appear grey if is not tagged on me or red if it is. I have used reaction_if_npc:name and class_ifnot_npc:name so i see NPCs red/yellow/green and players with class color but i need this option about greying if not aggroed first by me. Thanks

I'm having issues with moving or even hiding the combo points for my feral. I looked under player and I see the other shapeshift stuff for mana bar and eclipse and such. I swear I looked everywhere and there is nothing stating combo bar.
