Total RP 3: Extended

Version: 1.1
by: Ellypse, kajisensei

This add-on is an extension for Total RP 3, version 1.2.0 and above. Please make sure to always have the latest version of Total RP 3 installed.
Check out our YouTube channel for video tutorials on how to get started with Total RP 3: Extended!

World of Warcraft has a strong community of players with a lot of talent when it comes to role-playing, fan-fiction, and other artistic creations. One major problem is that all these original creations can only live outside of the game as we can't have any impact on the game itself. Total RP 3 Extended is aiming to change this.

Total RP 3 brought you the best way to customize your characters and companions (pets and mounts). Total RP 3: Extended brings you the best way to create new content in World of Warcraft: campaigns with quests, customized NPCs and dialogues, items, documents (books, signs, contracts ...) and much more!

  • Create highly customizable items and share them securely with other people. When you receive an item from someone, the new security level system will warn you about potentially harmful effects and you can authorize them or not.*
  • Place items on the ground to get them back later or place them in stashes that other players will be able to find and open.
  • Total RP 3: Extended gives you a brand new*RP inventory to place items on your character visually. People with Total RP 3: Extend will be able to see the items you are wearing and you can inspect them too.
  • Create rich campaigns with multiple quests and steps, customize in-game NPCs to fit your needs and create immersive 3D dialogs with multiple choices.
  • This is a separated add-on, we don't "force" any Total RP 3 user to use it. That was a reason why Total RP 2 was considered really heavy for casual roleplayers. If you want Total RP 3: Extended, just get it in addition of Total RP 3. But Total RP 3 alone will stay lightweight.
  • The interface is clean, pretty and easy to handle.
  • We provide different levels of complexity for the editors' interfaces (Quick / Normal / Expert). So you will have a simple UI to quickly create simple items, but when you are ready to go to the next level and have the full unchained experience, you can use the tool in "expert mode". All these concepts will bring this addon to the saying "Easy to learn, hard to master".
  • The add-on is separated in two sub-add-ons. One contains the inventory management and a roleplay quest log. The other contains all the creation tools to create your items and quests.

Version 1.1

This version of Extended requires Total RP 3 version or above.

New chat links support

We have added support for Total RP 3's chat links system. You can now insert links to Items and Campaigns in chat by Shift-Clicking them. People will be able to see the creation's information, and even import them if you set the links to be importable.

Shift-Click on an item in your inventory, on a campaign in your quest log or in the database list to insert a link inside the chat frame. Make the link importable if you want the other players to be able to import the creation and use it, or make it viewable if you just want them to see the information. When sending a link from your inventory or quest log, the campaign progress is visible in the tooltip and variables in the text fields are resolved so that the tooltip looks exactly like what you see at the moment you created the link (if the variables change, the link won't be automatically updated).

Note: You can already send links to player who have Total RP 3 version 1.3 or above, but they will need Total RP 3: Extended 1.1 or above to import the content.

  • Added workflow effects to stop sounds, local sounds, and local musics. You can either stop a specific sound/music ID, or all sounds/musics you've triggered so far.
  • Inventory effects can now parse variables, meaning you can now add ${amount} of an item.
  • Added a Trade button on the target frame to initiate a trade with another player (only shows if the target is using Extended).
  • The Restricted Lua script effect has now access to new functions to access variables from workflows, objects and active campaign. [Learn more](https://github.com/Ellypse/Total-RP-3-Extended/wiki/"Execute-restricted-Lua-script"-effect))
  • Added a button to create an expert item directly from the database.
  • Added an optional field in the dice roll effect to store the result in a variable.

  • Numeric variables are now displayed with 2 decimal values by default. You can manually choose how many decimals to display on a variable by using ${variable#X} for X decimals.
  • "Next step index" has been removed from the bottom of cutscene dialogs, replaced by "Choose an option" when the player has to make a choice.
  • Trying to input an inner item ID with a space will now result in a warning popup.
  • Creating an inner item by copying another item will now upgrade the inner item mode to match the parent's mode.
  • The TRP3_KILL event arguments (to track kills from player & party) has been changed to return the killed entity type, and different info in case of a player killed. Learn more
  • TRP3_SIGNAL now gives the sender's name as 3rd argument.
  • New stashes will now set the current character as owner of the stash. Its name will be shown on scans even if you're playing on another character. Existing stashes can set or change the stash owner by using the "Set ownership" option in the dropdown shown when clicking the stash icon.

  • Fixed incorrect colors after using item links variables in item descriptions or use text.
  • Variables in item descriptions will now be resolved in the item browser.
  • Quest progress percentage doesn't try to show decimals anymore. (It would just show "..." at the end)
  • Containers and sounds history now close when pressing Esc.
  • Fixed a bug that wouldn't display the prompt window if the effect was called in the callback workflow of another prompt.
  • Fixed a bug that would show incorrect stash icons on the map after a scan.
  • "Loot all" now properly loots everything it can without asking for permission when reaching a stack.
  • "Loot all" won't show "Received: [Item] x 0" when loot fails (because of full inventory, unique item...).
  • Fixed a bug that would add a condition to a player choice in a cutscene even if "Condition" was exited without saving.

We actually had the same kind of feedback on Curse a while ago and I updated the description there a few weeks ago (but I forgot to update the project it here because Wowinterface is losi— err… nothing, scratch that).

I have updated the description here to reflect the one on Curse. Thanks for the constructive feedback.

"Even if World of Warcraft is losing subscribers month after month, it still has a strong community"
It isn't.
Even if it was, why start with a negative? Rather,

"World of Warcraft has a strong community" or
"Over the years, World of Warcraft has developed a strong community" or, if you absolutely must mention numbers (you really don't need to)
"Irrespective of subscriber numbers, World of Warcraft has managed to maintain a strong community"

Opening up with a negative doesn't help your cause. I'd choose the first or second of those three options.
