Minimap Button Frame  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.10f
by: Bachlott [More]

This little addon will gather up all of your addon minimap buttons and put them into a movable frame.

Features

- Minimap Button Skinning (Square Minimap Buttons)
- Add or Remove almost any minimap button
- Multiple Sorting Options - Including Custom!
- Collection of Blizzard Buttons
- Collect only the buttons you want
- Background Color can be changed from the config screen
- Hide most of the Blizzard Minimap Icons
- LDB Support
- Key Bindings
- Profile Support
- Basic Localization in English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)

Future Features

- Full LDB version of MBF

Known Issues

Metamap minimap button is incompatable due to the way it is handled in the addon.

The addon does not grab button that do not have a name currently.

Currently discovered addons that are this way are:

Enchantrix (Part of Auctioneer Advanced)
onRaid

The Blizzard buttons that only show up under certain conditions, (battleground, LFG) will only display on the Frame when they are shown normally and active scanning is enabled. Otherwise they will apprear on the minimap when they are shown.

The Add feature is a little more powerful than I originally expected. So you can accidentally grab things that you didn't expect to be able to. (Other Addons) I've tried to protect the blizzard interface features and a couple other things, but let me know if you can grab something that you don't think you should be able to. If you do accidentally add something to the bag you can always remove it.

I've added a lot to the Localization, so it's another quick and dirty, horrible translation. Thanks again for the crazyness Google. So if you can do a better translation please help me out and submit it to me so I can add it to MBF. Hopefully Google didn't make them too funny or offensive.

Note:

The ability to add minimap icons to the table can be a general or partial name of the icons. The button override table add should be the exact name of the button that you want to override and collect.

As always your feedback is more than welcome!

Okay so you have another addon that has assigned Ctrl-R, so you'll have to put the cursor over the gametime icon and type /mbf remove. Right now you're pulling the icon off of MBF without actually removing it from MBF. Once it's truly off of MBF it will behave like you expect.

Okay I have MBF working in WOTLK. But the button skinning isn't working correctly atm. Everything else is ready to go. Hopefully I'll have that last little bit worked out before the 3.0.2 patch goes live.

Re: I get this error when i Leave a BG...

Yes that is what the lastest beta was supposed to fix mainly.

But I messed it up a bit. Going to post another version in a few days.

@jgomberg

Yeah I've seen this before. It's caused by what I did to fix one of the previous bugs. It only seems to happen when one of the buttons doesn't want to cooperate for a long period of time. My fix basically waited for the buttons location to be able to be read before grabbing it, but I think I can go about it a little better way than what I did.
Latest version, active scanning on, here's a SS:

Yeah I missed hiding the new drag bar frame when I finally got the rollup functionality working. I'll have it fixed and a new version up by friday.

Heya - I'm getting the following error every time I log in:

[2008/10/16 14:39:52-45-x1]: MinimapButtonFrame-2.0\MBFTitan.lua:63: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)
Interface\FrameXML\UIDropDownMenu.lua:51: in function `UIDropDownMenu_Initialize':
Titan-4.0.0.30000\TitanMenu.lua:8: in function `TitanRightClickMenu_OnLoad'
<string>:"*:OnEvent":1: in function <[string "*:OnEvent"]:1>

This a Titan error? Or something with MMBF?

It looks like a MBF error with the titan pluging part. I haven't been able to get titan to work correctly at all on my machine. Guess I'll have another go at it and see what I can do.

Edit: It's definately something that has changed in TitanBar I'll try and find out if it's something I can do to make it work or if TitanBar is just broken.

Hi, I like this addon, and intend to use it as one of the components of my new UI.

If wishes were horses*, I would add or change two features:
1) Option to remove the text tab currently used to toggle the show/hide state of the button frame. I'd be ok with a /cmd to toggle show/hide states if the bar and bar text were removed.

2) Scaling the bar can be improved by ensuring that the text scales accordingly. In my testing, it appears that the default 0.8 scale is the most proportionate and correctly sized option. Scale to 1.0 or 0.6 and you'll see an indication of what I mean as the text overflows the boundary of the text tab frame (for example). If this is potentially a system-specific issue (though I am not sure that it is), I should probably then point out that I run 1680x1050 with a Blizzard WoW UI scale of 1.0.

If you need more info about these requests, please let me know and I'll try to be clearer, or mock up a screen shot of what I'm looking for. Thanks!

* then beggars would ride

If you select the locked option the tab goes away. And there are /mbf show and /mbf hide options.

I'll check that. Hopefully an easy fix. I usually run at .8 scale so thats probably why it looks the best.

Hanging during load?

I'm hanging at the loading screen and when I disable MMBF, it doesn't hang.

I'm on a Mac if that makes a difference.

Yes, of course within (literally) 10 minutes of posting I discovered that what I was asking for was already in place. Reason I didn't notice it over the past days of use was that I was still editing/moving/changing various addon options and was repeatedly moving the MMBF through the process.

Thanks for the responses.

Delete your saved Variables for MBF and it should fix your issue.
