SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Sent my SavedVariables to your earlier.

I've been meaning to ask, although it might've been asked already, but are there any plans to include raid pets?

That and the ability to use different layouts depending on 10/25 man raid or if it's a BG raid is what's keeping me from dumping Grid.

Apologies if this has been asked already.

EDIT: Also noticed tonight when doing the Gunship encounter in ICC10 that the Boss-frames didn't update the health. I also had the Blizzard ones showing (lacking an option to Hide them), which did get updated. Didn't get any errors or so.

SUF not working

I'm still using the old 3.2 version of suf because all the new ones fail to work.
What seems to be different is there is now a shadowedUF options folder at addon folder level, when before it was underneath the main suf folder.. am I doing something wrong?

Ailae: Interesting, I never got to test boss frames and mostly was guessing that they worked, if the boss units work with the Gunship fight I'll see about getting into a 10 man this week.

Raid pet's I might add, but different layouts for 10/25 mans or battlegrounds isn't something that would happen mostly because it's a pain to add since SUF isn't setup to handle it.

Problem with pet frame

I love your addon, but have a small problem. I use Feed-O-Matic for care and feeding of my pet with my hunter. FoM will not work with the unit frames, so I thought the solution would be to UnHide the Blizzard pet frame and turn yours off and that would solve the problem.
But now I don't get any pet frame. Am I missing some setting?

Hi. I tried switching to Shadowed UF from Pitbull last night - and really loved it. The one problem I did have was I wasn't able to get my own fonts to show up in SUF. I tried all sorts of combinations of placing fonts in the SUF fonts folder, I tried SharedMedia, Lib-SharedMedia, all I could get was the default one and the one that comes with the addon (myriad....or something).

Is anyone able to tell me exactly what I need to use my own fonts? Really great work and I'm impressed so far having been a long time Pitbull user.

Still getting it. However now I am always show up in party.

I am not able to get your frames for the enemy raid players, I do not have the old raid frames addon you had, and am still getting the raid grid on top of my party frames during arenas aswell. Otherwise working perfectly. Thanks for the nice changes to the highlights.

link so you can see what I mean. Sorry I had to take it in windowed mode. since patch my FPS has been nill in fullscreen.

Also I was wondering. When in a raid group can I just have my party show if there are less than 6 people in the raid? I tried going into the zone config section to try and work it out but nothing is changing.

Klime: You can hide your party automatically if you are in a raid with 6 or more people through Party -> Party -> Hide in 6-man raid. You cannot have it group everything thought, meaning it won't show 5 people in your party if everyone is spread out between groups 1 - 5. #1066 error is something I'm looking into.


shigsy: You need to add the fonts, I would suggest putting this inside SharedMedia as you are a lot less likely to update that, you want to add a line that looks something like this:

SML:Register(SML.MediaType.FONT, "<In-game font name>", "Interface\\AddOns\\<Path to font>")

I'm not sure why you're having the Defend issue, I just checked with your SavedVariables and it worked fine for me, I take it this is quite easy for you to duplicate? Could you try it without any mods except SUF.

Tried it again with only SUF enabled (and SharedMedia, which got loaded by SUF methinks). Here's how I tried it, putting it here for completeness:

Accept quest "Among the Champions".
Initiate combat with a Champion.
Fight, keeping count in my head on how many stacks I should have.
When the fight is over, check buffs at corner against buffs on Target-frame (with myself targeted).

My target had a stack of 1 while my buffs at the corner again showed 3, like in the screenshots I proved earlier (only displayed in a uglier manner :P).

Tried dumping UnitAura("player", "Defend") which gave:

IIRC, the 4th return is the count or stack. Seems pretty weird though that it works for you.

EDIT: Okay, also tried deleting my SavedVariables and install a fresh copy of SUF (3.0.2 from here). Still the same issue, had no other addons enabled.
