Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

I was pondering about whether it's worth it or not for the average user to have profiles. Profiles either drastically increase the memory usage (especially for the huge variables Stuf has) or increase user frustration, and this is for the few who uses profiles. Plus I no longer want to depend on libraries for the normal operation of the addon (events, hooks, database, etc).

I've added a defaults button, but I'm waiting for some more feedback before I release a new version.

Ah, I forgot about disabling the castbar; I'll add that for next release.

As for class symbol in portraits, I was thinking that one would use the info icon instead, but it wouldn't be circular. I would have to provide image files for each class to do this, something I most likely would not do.

I spent some time with these frames last night and they look very promising. However, I wasn't able to see any kind of debuff visual on the DK I was testing with. Do they show only cureable? If so, I would love an option to see debuff visuals regardless of whether they are cureable by you or not. Maybe I just overlooked an option though.

Great frames though, best I have seen post-3.0 so far.

Now if it only had a built in visual heal, and we'd be perfect.

Anyways, as to profile support. I do believe it'd be wasted with the implementation of the reset button.

These frames don't appear to be click-cast enabled (at least my Clique doesn't seem to work with them). Major deal-breaker if true.

Blah, I did add Clique support, but I guess the frames need to have a name. Should be fixed in the latest version (same version number, though).

I've just tested mods with built-in Visual Heal and the standalone version of VisualHeal. I recommend the standalone. Also, Visual Heal may only be useful to some, and its resource requirements does not seem worth it for just the few who'll use it. Of course, Stuf does have developer support if someone wants to write a separate mod for it.

Do you mean the dispell icon? It suppose to be a visual for someone friendly who has a spell to remove it. I haven't fully leveled a DK, so I don't know if they have a cleanse spell. If they don't, why would you want to see it (shows only one debuff at a time) compared to seeing some or all of the normal debuff icons with type color?

Sometimes I like to bark at people who are falling down on the job. Honestly though, this request is more for on my wife's behalf; it barely affects me since my main is a Paladin and I can cure most things and can usually spare a GCD for a cleanse or two even while tanking (which is what I do 99.9% of the time). I hadn't noticed the color type on the normal debuff icons though.

Looking forward to the Clique fix, and thanks for the responses.

I made the default layout in Stuf to be identical to that in StellarUF. Everything works and looks the same until you look at the options menu. Let me know if something is missing.

Me again on the Dispel Icon. Can you enable it for Warlocks? They can dispel magic with felhunter, and I don't even see Dispel Icon in the menu options on my lock, so I assume it's just disabled or enabled on a per-class basis?

It is based on class/abilities. Showing the dispell icon for warlocks with felhunters is reasonable, and I'll put it on my to-do list for the next release. However, I do not have a warlock to test this.
