BlessingBar  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.4.0-0.1
by: Cilraaz [More]

BlessingBar is an adaptation of CRiSPyToWN's AspectBar for Paladins. It creates a bar consisting of each of the available Blessings for the Paladin. Credit for the vast majority of code goes to CRiSPyToWN.

Change Log:
v2.4.0-0.1 (TOC 20400)
-- Updated TOC
v2.3.0-0.2 (TOC 20300)
-- Fixed BlessingBar.xml to use Buttons instead of CheckButtons, which fixed the issue with hilighting
-- Cleaned up some internal button code
v2.3.0-0.1 (TOC 20300)
-- Updated TOC
v2.2.0-0.2 (TOC 20200)
-- Cooldowns are now fixed. There are no numbered representations (a la OmniCC), but the visual representation is back!
v2.2.0-0.1a (TOC 20200)
-- To stop the errors the mod was producing, I've temporarily removed the global cooldown timer from showing on the buttons. This is only temporary until I figure out how to stop the errors. Otherwise, this is identical to v2.2.0-0.1.
v2.2.0-0.1 (TOC 20200)
-- Updated TOC
-- There may be potential issues in this release, but I saw none upon testing (no updates from v2.0-0.4)
-- I did notice a LUA error when clicking a spell. I am working on a way to stop this, but it appears something in the code is conflicting with the FrameXML LUAs, which are programmed by Blizzard. Until then, if you have no method of capturing LUA errors, it might be a little annoying.
v2.0-0.4 (TOC 20003)
-- Modified Blessings order
-- Added Config option to toggle Blessing of Protection on to and off of the bar (requires UI reload)
-- Added Config button to reload UI
v2.0-0.3a (TOC 20003)
-- Whoops! Uninitialized variables are fun! There shouldn't be any errors referring to GameToolTip any longer.
v2.0-0.3 (TOC 20003)
-- Added a handle to the SealBar to prevent accidental casting of Blessings.
-- This handle will not require a control-right-click any longer. It will take a simple left-click to move the bar using the handle
v2.0-0.2 (TOC 20000)
-- Fix to stop errors relating to protected functions
v2.0-0.1 (TOC 20000)
-- Initial Release

The biggest problems I have right now is that I have no Paladin, Warlock, or Warrior that I can access in beta to check out spell changes/additions (and also to test code with). So I'm doubting these will get updated until 1) WotLK goes live, 2) I get a testing partner (or partners), or 3) Blizz allows premade characters.

Thanks
Kneeki has a WotLK compatible mod called "Class Buttons" that basically does the same thing as Blessing Bar, but for all/most classes. You may want to check that out until I can get this up and running.

Also, I may concede my bar mods to Kneeki's Class Buttons. I'd like to hear some opinions on that.

I have no errors when loading or unloading this addon. It's not an Ace mod, so I'm not sure why you'd get AceDB errors relating to this addon.

/blessingbar config works perfectly fine for me with a fresh copy of the addon in WoW v2.3.2.

The bars are moveable. Just left click on the anchor on the end of the bar and drag to move it.

Thumbs up New Version

I updated BlessingBar to a new version 2.3.0-0.2. This version includes some minor button code cleanup as well as (finally) a fix for the hilighting issue that's been plaguing my bar mods. The mod will no longer leave a button hilighted until clicked again.

Temporary Version

For the time being, I removed the visual representation of the global cooldown. This is where the errors are stemming from. This is only temporary and will be re-instated as soon as I can get the errors to stop. If anyone sees the error below and wants to pitch in a friendly word of advice, I would not be opposed to it.

That did in fact get rid of the errors, but now it's throwing another:

Interface\FrameXML\Cooldown.lua:4: attempt to call method 'SetCooldown' (a nil value):
<in C code>: in function `CooldownFrame_SetTimer'
BlessingBar\BlessingBar.lua:302: in function `BlessingBar_UpdateCooldowns'
BlessingBar\BlessingBar.lua:182: in function `BlessingBar_OnEvent'
<string>:"*:OnEvent":1: in function <[string "*:OnEvent"]:1>
<in C code>: in function `CastSpellByName'
Interface\FrameXML\SecureTemplates.lua:276: in function `SecureActionButton_OnClick':
<string>:"*:OnClick":1: in function <[string "*:OnClick"]:1>

Once I get this squared away, I'll post a new version.

[edit: Helps if I post the error for the right mod.]

fixit

If I remember right, the fix for the errors is to change line 7 in BlessingBar.xml:

Code:
       <CheckButton name="BlessingBarButtonTemplate" inherits="ActionBarButtonTemplate" virtual="true">
to:

Code:
       <CheckButton name="BlessingBarButtonTemplate" inherits="SecureActionButtonTemplate" virtual="true">
I assume the same thing can be done to fix the newest release 2.2.0-0.1, since the line is the same, but I haven't tested it yet.

Well, I've returned to WoW. While I'm not playing my Paladin any longer, I suppose I could keep this mod updated. I logged in and saw that basic functionality appears to be working in 2.2.0. I did notice an error whenever a button is clicked, but this will take some work (as the error I'm getting only refers to a LUA in FrameXML, which is coded by Blizzard.

Let me know if anyone is having any other errors.

That link to how to change the bug with this mod, no longer works because that website has been redesigned. Can you maybe post how to fix the bug here?

WoW 2.1

As anyone who tried it knows, this AddOn is broken with WoW 2.1.

Good news: a temporary fix for an identical problem with ShamanBuffBars
http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=2967
was posted by charlierocks. I tried the same changes on BlessingBar and SealBar
http://www.wowinterface.com/download...8-SealBar.html
and they work perfectly, at least so far for me.

Look for the charlierocks post at the ui.worldofwar.net URL above, if interested in trying the changes.

Add cooldowns (support for OmniCC?) , keybindings, an option to lock the bar and config-screen on right-click and you're done Same goes for SealBar ofcourse.
