Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.8
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Slash commands: /shadoweduf (/suf)

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Party Frames Anchor Problem

I was trying this addon which looks really nice but I'm having a problem.
I like to have my party frames laid out horizontally at the top of the screen.

But i use Titan Panel and if I anchor to the Top Left of the screen the frames end up behind the Titan bar and when i change the offset the frames stay stuck....

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hi there,

Silly question for ya. I enabled my rep/xp bar, but there are no labels for it. I can mouseover and it will tell me everything, but I was wondering how to get that displayed on the actual bar.

I went into general->text management and created labels for left and right bars for the XP/rep bar, but I'm not sure how to create the tag to display my xp or to show my tracked rep. I don't see a default tag for that.

thanks for your time,

~T

Since 4.0 my raid and party frames are gone..no matter what i do, enable, disable they wont come back. they dont even show when u unlock the frames!

ive been using this mod for an insanely long time and would hate to get rid of it due to such a small problem. Any information would be great.

Dark colors

hi,
after reinstalling my SUF version, I tried to change the Energy-Color of my Powerbar to a more brighter yellow because it seemed to me as if it was very dark
That didnt work and so now I think theres kind of a color problem because it doenst work with white either:

Picture

The white space between the bars is the background which I set to white as well and it works for that feature but not for the bars :/

tried it with many different bar textures, video settings, monitor settings etc

thanks for any helpful responds,
ciao

Combo points (really dumb question)

I can't for the life of me see where to turn on or manage the display of combo points.... Where are they?

[Update: found them, under Unit Configuration -> Target -> General -> Combo points]

I've been a long time user of PitBull, almost since I began playing the game. However, in implementing my newly designed UI I found the inability to place text absolutely the reason to find a new addon. Shadowed Unit Frames was absolutely perfect. It does everything I need, except it has one downfall which requires me to currently use BOTH PitBull4 for bars and SUF for text (gogo memory). The health bars are not implemented in SUF the same way they are in PitBull4. When a unit is at, say 45% health for example, the health bar is squeezed/resized which absolutely destroys my bars visually. If it could be fixed so that a simple configurable color overlay is used like in PitBull4, or at least the option to display bars as such, then this would literally be the perfect unit frames addon.

Is there a way to move separate party member's frame around? I want to configure it so that frames are displayed horizontally and even after clicking 'unlink frames' I can't move party frame 1/2/3/4/5 separately.
Thanks in advance.

Is there a slash command to load profiles? If not, I'd like to feature request this! I want to have a different setup for my druid's restoration spec and another for my feral dps spec. Currently I have to go into the options and load the profile through the drop down (omg, this takes sooo much time ). It would be great if I could just add "/suf load druidheals" or somesuch to my spec changing macro!

Re: WoW lockup in configuration!

So, I downloaded SUF and started configuring it. While configuring the raid frame, I wanted to set it up so it keeps things in rows by group, so 5 columns and grow right then down.

Twice now, in the process of adjusting that configuration, my entire client has locked up and required me to go to the task manager to kill it.

Obviously, this is a bug in Blizzard's lua engine, since it shouldn't be possible for any addon to crash the game client, BUT... you might want to look at how you're doing things too, since this is (for me at least) reproducable, and only seems to happen when configuring the raid layout in this addon.

Just a heads up, in case nobody else had run into it before! Thanks for the excellent addon!
I had(have) the same issue, /suf just to open the menu can take 30 seconds after this happens. Trying to configure the raid frames into rows by group the same as you gave me this very strange staircase pattern (sometimes). Seemed worse trying to configure it with the panels unlocked to see a preview. Weird bug, really love this addon though!

Hello!
Thank uou for making this addon!
Does anyone else have the problem where the buffs/debuffs goes over the top of the second party member? Do I need to manually lower them or...? I'm sorry if this has already been answered 500 times...
Thanks

Not seeing Holy Power?

Any idea how to turn on Holy Power? I had my frames heavily customized and I don't see the options to configure this anywhere.

Thanks

Lua Error.

Hello,
First of all thanks again for picking up the project.
I'm running the latest version from Nov. 16th and keep getting this error.
If I opt to hide lua errors then everything is good except after playing for 30-40 mins, notice the error count below, the game will start to slow down noticeably.
Any idea how to fix would be greatly appreciated.
