FaceShooter is a shot recommendation addon for hunters.

Based on your resources like cooldowns and focus it tries to recommend which spell should be cast next.
It is a complete strip back to basics of the former version of FaceShooter, with the new and changed features developed from there.

Horde should now be able to use Faceshooter while riding a Frostwolf War wolf. I don't have a Horde char so please test and let me know.
Survival focus dump now changed to Arcane Shot

Still an issue is the glitch where Explosive shot gets stuck. It's reproducible but still investigating the root cause.

FaceShooter will correctly disable itself if not a Hunter or lower than level 90
Kill Shot now improved. You must however have one of the following on your Action Bars:
- The Kill Shot spell, ie dragged from the spell book to your Action Bars

If neither of these are on your Action Bars, Kill Shot is disabled and not recommended by FaceShooter

-Faceshooter does not check specifically for which Dreanor Perks are active, so only enables them when your level is 98 or greater.

Chimera Frame is not supposed to show you any shot suggestions thatīs what the main shot frame is for. It should be enabled by default but if you accidentally turned it off at some point you can reenable it with the "/fs shots toggle" command.

Can you make it so if the Serpent Sting is red, let it show the other parts of the rotation? Since it's not worthwhile to use it, then why won't it show the rest of the rotation? It's kinda defeating the purpose of showing the red multiplier if it won't stop showing it for the other shots that are suppose to be more worthwhile.

In order to make the ammoDPS work I have to remove the space appended at FaceShooterFunctions.lua

For most part those are the words as they appear on the ingame tooltips



and



CRIT_META, T8 and T9 each contain a string that distinctively identifies the tooltips of Relentless Earthsiege Diamond, T8 and T9 Hunter sets respectively.

For the mobtypes itīs whatever the api function "UnitCreatureType(unit)" returns. So you can just target a beast for example and type /run print(UnitCreatureType("target")) and whatever the client prints in the chat should be in your localization.lua.

Hello,

After tweaking the addon a bit, I was able to try the addon on zhTW with a hunter at level 76. Although personally I would prefer to see more than 1 "next skill", but it is very amazing. Thank you for the addon.

Iīll check if I can reproduce the problem with those settings and also retrace exactly what I changed between 0.7.12b and 0.8.0b which you told me was the first version that exhibited that behavior.
It can be rather complicated to fix issues that canīt be reproduced though and I canīt really check if a change solved the problem.

edit: Oh and about that tooltip bug - does it consistanty happen as soon as you target something or did it just happen once on one occasion? I did get the message once or twice since the last fix to it myself so the problem isnīt completely solved yet but it happens only very rarely and a reloadui or unequipping and reequipping any item should fix it. If it still happens to you all the time than I guess itīs got something to do with the non-ascii characters in the names which I hoped were solved by using utf-8 encoding.

As for when I said I knew people having the same lag issue, I do not know these people personnaly but can only remember reading about a lag issue in this thread (can't seem to find where though).
I use as few addons as possible: tukUI, Skada, Dxe (sometimes switched to DBM), rangedisplay, track-o-matique, spam sentry, azcastbar, powerauras and that's it. Will try a completely addon-free (except for FS) configuration as soon as possible and will report if anything changes.

PS: still having a localization bug with french client: ammo is not recognized.

Thatīs strange. You only delete the cache folder, not the savedvariables for FS? You said youīve seen other people having the same problem - the thing thatīd help me a lot is if you could find the similarities between yourself and them. Maybe itīs a certain other addon that conflicts with FS (even though I donīt know how). Also could you please post your FS savedvariables here, maybe itīs a certain combination of settings youīre using.

1. Yes you got that one right. The Percentage tells you by how much percent your sting is better now than the one already on your target. Red means itīs not worthwhile using a GCD to reapply it whereas green means it is worthwhile - assuming you can keep up until the target dies. So FS doesnīt account for phase transitions like sindragosa taking off or putricide stunning you and where your sting is certain to fall off.

Ok, im confused about this chimera frame..

1. Sometimes the %age will be red. Is this when its not worthwhile to refresh, but there will be an increase for serpent?
2. Does chimera up the damage of serpent to your current AP level when it refreshes it, and does it up the damage when you have a % damage increase?

Or am I right in thinking that chimera will up SS when you have a flat attribute upgrade, but it wont if you have a % damage upgrade?

Hey Crowfeather,
I've been using your addon for a while now (0.9.5b3 with a French client at this day) and needless to say I'm a huge fan (though it doesn't hurt to say) so keep up the great work!


Now about my concern:

The real problem I'm having (and it's been for a while now) is a lag problem. This problem occured first when I upraded from 0.7.12b to the next version. Since then, anytime I focus an harmful target (meaning FS is calculating) I'm having a huge ips drop (from 120ips to 10 ips) with an obvious jerky display. First thing I did was to stick with the 0.7.12b version (which stopped working with 3.3.3 being out). Upgrading to 0.9.5b3 I realized that the problem does not occur after the first (and clean) install of FS but only aftewards: each time I log in the lag is there.
Eventually I found a solution: by deleting the Cache folder the lag doesn't appear on log in but only after a /rl or disconnect/reconnect.

I've seen that other people had this problem but couldn't find neither a fix nor an explanation. So if anyone out here have one, please let me hear it.

Aside from that I'd say your addon is perfect, I'm particularly fond of the new SS-reapply thingy.
