Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

SBF 3.2 with clickable buffs

* When changing SBF profiles, the list of frames shown in ButtonFacade setup will update correctly

* You can now reset the profile for the current character by using /sbf reset

* SBF will no longer allow you to try and flow buffs for different units. (There's no way to make that work without a major code revamp)

* ha filters should behave a little bit better now
* Vehicle buff frames will update and clear when you exit a vehicle

* Added vehicle to the list of units for buff frames on the general tab

Is there a way to copy one character's settings to another? I might just be dumb, but if it is I can't seem to find out how.

Aferny - Log out and delete your SBF saved variables (http://evilempireguild.org/SBF/help.php - "I tried everything and it's still messed up!"). When you log back in it should be good, though you'll have to reconfigure sadly.

Psychophan - Flowing "physically" moves your buffs into the destination frame, so they will obey the rules of that frame. 3.2 will bring sticky frames where the the child frame will simply be positioned after the last buff in the parent frame, and will use its own display settings.

Question about buff flowing:

I have my main buff frame set to Name[of]. I have a second buff frame for Name[short] (for buffs that won't fit the [of] rule). If I flow the buffs from my second frame to my main frame, then will the moved buffs be subject to the [of] or [short] rule?

Use the Frame unit dropdown on the General tab to select target for that frame

First, thanks for a really really great addon.

Second; I have a question.

I use SBF for buffs / debuffs on myself, but I started to think It would be good to use it on the target aswell, but it doesn't work for me, I made a new frame, named it target, choose it to display targets buffs/debuffs, but when I change the settings, the frame never comes up, Ive tried to reset the frames and so on, so what do you think I should do? It works along with xperl I guess?

Thanks!

Count[(normal)] (refer to page 2 of the in-game name help frame)

I really should add all of that to the SBF site - thanks for the reminder

Is there a way to show the count in the name format only if there is more than one?

ie. Tidal Waves (2)

Currently the format "Name[full] Count[(always)]" always show a count even for single buffs/debuffs which I do not want.

Thanks!

Thanks Wiky, I'll look for them to arrive for 3.1.5

Echobravo - hrm, I had thought that was finally dead. Blearg.

Tentfox - seems like your spell data has got corrupted somehow. I should put a button somewhere to let users reset that. Try this:

/run SBF.db.global.castable = nil
/console reloadui

(Velcrow, you might be having the same problem)

Crashing the client seems fun, will check into it!

I have been experiencing strange behavior with the bar length for new buffs (and debuffs). When this occurs for both player and target buffs, new bars will start out at approximately 125% the length I have specified in the config, but the existing buff bars stay correctly fixed at 100% length. Shortly after, the new incorrectly sized bars resize to 100%. I typically notice this behavior while in a BG or raid where my or my target's buffs and debuffs are quickly changing.

I am having the filter c show things like essence of wintergrasp.

Also found a way to crash the client by having a filter to edit and then switch the frame you are working on and then press enter.

Great addon Satrina and thanks for all the hard work you have obviously put into it.

I seem to be having a problem with the "class" filter. I have a dedicated bar to show warlock curses. No matter what I try (e.g. the "c" filter or "hc"), I cannot get it to exclusively show warlock debuffs - other classes are showing up too.

Vague description I know but any ideas?

Blackwater - The ha filter is pretty simplistic. There is currently no way to ask the game client "can I actually dispel this?", so if you get an effect that is of a type your class can normally dispel, it will fit the filter. One of my longer term plans is to generate a database of effects to make that filter smarter, and allow other cool filters. I've also suggested to Blizzard that being able to ask the game client that would be really handy. Maybe they'll add it for me As for dispellables showing in bar 2, that may be a little bug - will check. Thanks!

wiky - I will do that for 3.1.5, sure thing. I will use the naming scheme you used (FILTERS1 and FILTERS2) so you can just email me the locale files to [email protected] or PM me a link to download from and I will just drop them in the release

Phetus - Yeah, I figured someone would want that eventually =) Can do!

Pseudopod - Adding specific code to work around a game client bug isn't something worth the time to do, sorry. That would likely take more effort than some new features I plan to implement.
