All click-casting code has been removed. Anyone who used WatchDog for it should instead use Clique, which is much better, cleaner, and based entirely off the WatchDog click-casting code. (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...php?s=&id=5108 )

I repeat. WatchDog is no longer a Click-Casting mod. It is purely a set of unit frames.


Watchdog is a highly customizable set of UnitFrames first and foremost. When logging in for the first time, you'll see a single UnitFrame towards the center of your screen. It will display some information about your character, and windows will pop up as party members, pets and targets show up.

You can open the configuration menu by typing /wdog, /wd or /watchdog, depending on what other addons are installed in your system (/wd conflicts with Wardrobe type addons). There are a number of options available on this screen, and I won't explain them all since they'll be changing quite soon.

The format strings (Target Format 1, Player Format 2, etc.) are what defines what is seen on each frame-- and can be customized per type of frame. Format strings are entered using a system of [tags]. A full listing of the tags is available in the readme.txt file within WatchDog.

Problems

Just downloaded after the most recent patch - overall really like this mod but have run into two particular problems:

The function key display <fkey> sends back the wrong information about party members i.e. First party member is listed as f1 when they're f2, f2 should be f3 etc etc

With pet frames on, when leaving a group the pets remain on screen so long as the player remains online or until you camp out (or i assume until you join a new group) which is kinda irritating

I don't use large numbers of mods so the likelyhood of a conflict causing this seems low, help!

The second issue has always existed, and I've never been able to fully track it down =(. You might want to try enabling and disabling watchdog in the watchdog menu to see if that fixes it in the meantime.. The first is an issue, and if you submit these both as bug requests on my portal, they'll g et looked at. Thanks.

First of all i using those frames for a quite long time(3months or so) and Watchdog are very good unitframes i have there almost everything

Mising things in Watchdog:
1.above player frames should be number raid group that You are in
2.there should be combo points for target frame. Thats for rogue and druid
and thats the most needed things in watchdog for me :-)
less immportant:
3.I would like to have some stamps in frames: leader of group, master looter
4.and it would be nice to have separate scaling, WIDTH, LENGTH of pet frames because i dont need to have as big frames for pets as i have for players

Thats all, beyond above, Everything its great! Keep those unit frames alive :-)

WatchDog isn't really about displaying things outside the frame:

1. I can add a tag for raid group that you can use in the player frame, but its not straightforward. I toyed with the idea of using the "raid group" graphic that is used on the player frame.. maybe i'll look at that again.
2. [combos] and [combos2]
3. [leader] and [leaderlong], master looter isn't easily available, but I'll look into it.
4. I know, I'd like this too, but I have to find time to code it all

Thank You Cladhaire for quick respond and correcting me. I see i didnt examined carefully "readme" file my bad soz
Thanks for take care of futures. Especially this group tag would be nice because in Onyxia or BWL or in lots of other situations its useful to know in wich group You are, without checking in raid panel and pissing off Your raid leader

ps. im also using Clique :-)

Watchdog and Clique

I am having two issues with watchdog and clique.

1) It seems i can only get a 'clique' to register on the right 1/2 of a watchdog unit frame. Clicking on the left 1/2 doesn't seem to work. I have not assigned anything to left click in Clique. I am also unable to click on the left 1/2 of the unit frame to select that player.
(EDIT: I have the default party window hidden, but this wierd clicking behavior seems to occur when I have the WD party window near where the default party window would be. If I move the WD window closer to the middle of the screen everything clicks fine)
(EDIT2: It actually seems to be the coolDown mod which I have above it. I have just moved the coolDown mod away from it on the screen and can click fine now. Part two still applies)

2) This may be more ignorance than anything, but how do I set up so that right click will perform a default WoW right click and bring up the menu for trade/follow etc?

Thanks for all of your hard work on this mod!

Clique:UnitMenu() as a custom script, as noted in the FAQ/Intro and help screens =)

Will you be porting WatchDog to be BC compatible at some point Cladhaire?

I know you are hard at work on Clique which is fabulous, I was just wondering what I'm gonna do for my unit frames if you aren't

Yay! Thanks, that is all I needed to know. I've been using Watchdog so long now I'm not sure what I'd do without it hehe

Since the 2.0 patch is destoying my UnitFrames of choice, I have been looking for a replacement and WatchDog seems by far the closest to what I want.

My only request is this..... is it possible to have the health/mana color bar have the opacity changed? I run with pretty much solid black background for the unitframes, and also use the reverse option to have grow with depletion. I am finding that as the health bar fills up, the text is hard to read on top of the bright color. All I need is a tint, and if I could lower the opacity of the bars, that would fix all my problems.

Apart from this little annoyance, this mod is great.

You could change it manually, but I don't have plans to make changes like that at this time.
