Tourguide Speed Guide for Icecrown Dailies  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.11
by: Isidian [More]

Now includes both Horde and Alliance versions.

You will need Tekkub's super awesome Tourguide addon for this to work. http://www.wowinterface.com/download...674&so=&page=2

I originally created this guide to help me do my speed run. With it, I completed 25 dailies in 1 hour and posted the vid on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq8MSzvLSfs

Since then, I received a number of requests to post my guide online, and after a warm reception from everyone, I felt compelled to keep it updated.

My goal here with this guide is only to do as many dailies as fast as possible, basically for the gold, and this might not be your goal. If you're looking for more flexibility, you might find Flawlessa's Guides to your liking.

The fun for me here (and the reason I post the addon) is the race and the challenge. If you're interested in a little friendly competition, record your best run and we can have a little go back and forth.

For those that are curious: the whole circuit generates about 400 gold.

A few notes to avoid confusion:

The guide is designed to do 25 quests in approximately 1 hour. There are a few things that might cause you to fall short of all 25 quests:

a) If you have not done any argent tournament stuff, the guide will prompt you to do the appropriate dailies for how far you've gotten, but you won't get all 25 until you've championed at least one faction and reached exalted with the Silver Covenant or Sunreavers.

b) If you are not revered with Sons of Hodir, you will have to skip 1 or more quests until you get the rep (again, the guide will prompt you to do some of the daily quests to gain that rep)

If either of these applies to you, you'll still benefit from following the guide -- you just might do 20 quests in under an hour. It's still a win. You can supplement with Sholozar quests or some of the other Icecrown quests if you want. If you still choose to follow the guide, over time you will gain the rep and titles you will need to complete all 25.

Odd that it won't even show on the addon list. >.<
It's listed in the addon list as Stradlater's Addons for Tourguide - that's probably why you weren't seeing it.

Ok, I've updated the addon to include a horde beta version of the guide. This should solve all the problems that people are having with the guide not appearing.
Thanks! I'll give it a test-drive!

And yes, my 80s are horde although I am leveling an alliance toon now

I'm just going to say this now and you can all assume that it applies to all similar posts that are going to happen later in this thread.

If you don't like the route, change it. The files are right there. Or you can just skip quests by clicking them in Tourguide. It's not hard.

...but I want to do the group quests...

...I can't get the champion quests yet...

...I don't like jousting...

...my computer runs too slow to do that quest...

...I'm not revered with Sons of Hodir yet...

...but I can't do Assault By Air DID YOU THINK OF ME WHAT ABOUT ME AND ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO CAN'T DO THAT QUEST HOW DARE YOU INCLUDE IT IN YOUR GUIDE

I shed a silent tear every night for you folks. The next morning, it's still your job to change it to fit your picky lifestyle, not mine.

P.S. Thanks to the folks who are showing genuine interest.

Highly uncalled for. People posting their questions/concerns/problems doesn't need to be responded by such callousness. Although I've already overlooked the self-ego-boosting "I challenge you to beat my 58min time!", this just puts it over the edge so now I respond appropriately:

Get over yourself.

It's self-absorbed authors such as yourself that give the rest of us bad names. Sorry this isn't complying with your "give me compliments to make me feel better" begging at the start of the desc. Feel free to not continue projects like this if this is the way you plan to treat your users. I'll shed a silent tear for you.

Congratulations on the 58 minute loop. That is an impressive optimization, and shows that Blizzard did make gold easy for people to earn. Makes one wonder just how much higher the purchase prices will get on items come next xpac.

It is a fairly easy format, but not everyone likes to tinker.

And some people have problems just installing addons.

I have to echo ChaosInc's sentiments: not everyone is able to do this. No reason to bash them.

Yep, that is not the aim of your guide, so I can see how you can get frustrated over such questions. Perhaps state the requirements somewhere to aid the users? (e.g. Requires: Sons of Hodir Revered, Argent Tournament Champion's Phase, Oracle alignment, Fishing 375", etc. This way they know whether to even try your loop or not.

Good suggestions -- I've added these to the main page.

As a more flexible alternative to my guide, I wanted to post a shameless plug for Flawlessa's guides.

I especially like how the author has maximized options -- so if you're looking for more flexibility but don't want to edit the source files, I can wholeheartedly recommend the hard work Flawlessa has put in.

Let me see if I remember. You have to right-click the tourguide bar and choose "Guides". Select a different guide from the list, then Shift-Click the guide you want to reset. Then go back to the guide and it should be reset.

I've thrown together a route for patch 3.2 which now includes the crusader dailies if you've gotten that far. It took me 1:03:08 on a casual attempt, so this is going to be the route I practice on from here out.

Awesome guide. Just about to try out the updated version. Altho I wasn't able to some of the Tournament quests, I did notice I got nearly 400 gold.

Just a couple suggestions;

1. Could you add way points to all of the Suggestions, including quest hand-ins.
2. Taking Battle to the Enemy (Killing 15 cult members) can be very easily done while doing Drag and Drop (Killing Bitter Initiates for Orbs of Deception and using them against Dark Subjugators)
3. The Valiant's Field Training has been changed to kill Converted Heroes at the Valley of Fallen Heroes at around 42,47. Although the QuestID's been updated the guide text hasn't.
4. A suggestion for co-ords for Leave Our Mark would be the combatants at Savage Ledge (38,24). There's plenty of guys there.

I should get around to doing this. Usually I just rely on Tourguide to automatically import coordinates from Lightheaded, but it gets wacky sometimes (especially with the airship and Assault By Ground).

2. Taking Battle to the Enemy (Killing 15 cult members) can be very easily done while doing Drag and Drop (Killing Bitter Initiates for Orbs of Deception and using them against Dark Subjugators)
I usually finish or near-finish the 15 cultists at Drag and Drop, but since you have to kill 10 more cultists for retest now, there's no reason to spend extra time finishing the quest early.

3. The Valiant's Field Training has been changed to kill Converted Heroes at the Valley of Fallen Heroes at around 42,47. Although the QuestID's been updated the guide text hasn't.
I didn't notice this on account of having crusader title already. There were a lot of changes and I missed this one. Thanks, I'll fix that. I have a fresh 80 that I'm doing the preqs with and I hope to catch any more mistakes like this that might be in there.

4. A suggestion for co-ords for Leave Our Mark would be the combatants at Savage Ledge (38,24). There's plenty of guys there.
Makes sense to me. To be honest, the guide automatically assigns a different quest for rogues to save a little time, so I don't do this one on my main.

Oh, Not a Bug and Retest Now quest suggestions need a little work. Can't TG detect things like buffs, or inventory?

For Retest Now you should probably have the Cauldron Colours in the note, or delete the note altogether. It's a little hard to explain, Next time I run thru the quest again, I'll pop my ideas in another post.
