Quiet That Pup!

Version: 1
by: Decabah [More]

Mutes the recently amped-up effects of the Core Hound Pup (and the Perky Pug). Simply extract to your World of Warcraft \ Data \ Sound \ Creature folder.

If you wish to hear one of these pet's effects but not the other, simply delete the relevant folder.

Huge TOS violation.
According to Blizzard, adding sounds (even "blank sounds") is perfectly kosher and as a result we (WoWInterface) do not have any issues with it.

"Interface", "Fonts" and "Sounds" are perfectly valid and accessible to players to modify, The folder that is the WoW UI equivalent of a third rail is the Data folder. We as players cannot modify nor add to any file with-in that folder.

Again, adding to the Sounds folder is fine. Again, here is the relavent quote from Blizzard with emphasis on the subject:

While we are currently allowing Add-Ons that remove or replace existing sound files, keep in mind that it is illegal to distribute copyrighted materials, in this case in-game music and audio files, without authorization. One of the primary goals of the user interface is to allow players to customize their game experience and we hope to avoid making any modifications in the future that will prevent this.

Thanks!

I'd been thinking about whipping something like this up - put together a few similar hush kits myself - but now I don't need to

Emphasis mine.

It may be just a sound file and therefore not a "proper" addon, but it is allowed.

Glad others find it useful.

Edit for your edit: It's for both the Core Hound Pup and the Perky Pug. The "CoreHoundPet" folder name is probably a little confusing given that core hounds are tamable now, but the files inside apply only to the vanity pet.

This one (not mine) should do it:
http://www.wowinterface.com/download...etChopper.html

There's also this for a couple mounts including the choppers (again, not mine):
http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ietMounts.html

I tested the first one, and it appears to mute all sounds apart from the "summon" noise, but it does work for idling / riding.
