Live 7.3.5: Download

Plater is a handsome and light addon for nameplates!

Features:
- New nameplates for friendly characters.
- Unlock configs to modify the new personal health bar/power bar in the middle of the screen.
- Allows to change the size of the resource indicators such as the runes for Death Knights.
- Indicates when a npc is an objetive of a quest.
- Highlight detector npcs inside Suramar city.
- Color change by aggro and by player role (tank or dps).
- Dynamic sizing allowing to have two sets of size, one for combat and other out of combat.
- Allows full modification of textures.
- Allows to modify the clickable area of the plate.
- Unlock separate config for each type of unit: Friendly Player, Enemy Player, Friendly Npc, Enemy Npc.
- Show your buffs and debuffs, allowing to black list some of them.

Important: by default the health bar of enemy nameplates has a height 2 pixel when out of combat, but do not be fooled by that, each nameplate has by default 45 pixels of clickable area (vertical) and both the health bar and the clickable area can be modified.

Thanks for replies

Let me donate some bfa dungeon strings:

you have to import the raw data for it to work

Scripting

Spellstealable Buffs (Magic) - Glow
https://pastebin.com/hVhNf3sy

Interruptible priority casts: - Castbar flash
https://pastebin.com/xn6u3e9a

Buff Tracking (manual)

If you want that only spellstealable (magic) stuff shows on nameplate:

Nameplate visibility related

Is it possible to make the nameplate only show if it's attackable? Sometimes a unit is visible in dungeons but you can't attack it cause it's below you or whatever and it gets me confused at times-- as in me switching to it thinking that it's a closeby mob.

Basically show all nameplates and in combat hide the ones that you can't attack.

Buff Settings
It would be cool if we were able to make buffs grow to the right and make them keep their position.
right now the behaviour is like this: https://gyazo.com/d0e2d6b70c1bef2a90064fbb06a9069a

really cool addon btw! like it a lot -- the scripting has so much potential!

edit: I'm getting this error with v18, it was fine the version before.

Thanks for the feedback!

1) The overlap trigger check is bugged. Triggers only overlap within its type, so a spell added as a cast trigger in one script won't overlap with the same spell added as a buff trigger in another script.
2) Yes, I'll add this information on the tooltip. The script only triggers with what is the currently selected in the trigger dropdown box.
3) Yes, the script can only be of one type anyway.

About the visibility, there's not much what can be done, you may decrease the View Distance in the options or enable the "No Combat Alpha" feature which will decrease the alpha of unit that isn't in combat with you.

The grow direction is a little tricky since we just modify the default buff frames from blizzard and they enforce the grow that you see on Plater, we may write some anchoring code to override their position, but might not happen soon.

You may just use v17, v18 only added integration with Details! to show damage done directly on the nameplate.
For the visibility of nameplates across floors i like the plater feature where if i just set the CVAR "occludedalpha" to really low like 0.2 so plates that are LOS across rooms and floor have low alpha and less annoying.
V18 seems to be completely broken for me the healthbars are not moving at all even when mobs are low hp and they are not showing %hp and health amount - i switched back to V17. Also one slightly annoying bug i noticed in V17 that is working fine in live is that both healthbar and castbar backgrounds are not accepting texture/colors. Also healthbar and castbar background alpha is behaving weirdly even on live - when mobs are not the target the castbar background alpha seems to get lowered(even if you set it to 100 in color) so if you put the mob name below the plate like me it shows the name through the castbar background which mixes with the spellname. The alpha on healthbar behaves opposite where if the mob is the target it lowers the alpha regardless of color chosen.

I have set friendly player nameplate width to 130 but in dalaran and orderhall friendly player nameplate show up like this - they dont accept the width setting , they work fine everywhere else. Also the npc minion nameplates get resized and are much smaller than regular nameplates.

1)The target indicator is getting removed on pressing escape and removing a target but doesnt get removed when you target a unit without its nameplate visible , also gets put on random nameplates sometimes when you have no target
2) Friendly npc "name only" not visible have to turn of friendly npc nameplates to see the name
3) Friendly npc section not accepting font settings for name and castbar when nameplate is shown
A few suggestions/requests -
1)Add checkbox for enemy minion and friendly player nameplate in dalaran/order hall resizing so we have option to disable since it messes up things like health % fonts
2) Enable health amount for player nameplates also similar to npc nameplate along with health % for open world pvp so can tell how geared players are.
Thanks for reporting these issues.

I know you can disable them but I'd rather like to see a 2h or 1h on the flask buff than for example 2077 seconds.
Or that we can disable specific durations, like the flask duration but the rest of the buffs still has their timer enabled
This is a issue on our track, eventually it'll get fixed, thank you!

Tooltips on Nameplate Auras

First of all, thank you for providing this insanely good addon, which i used all throughout legion.
But now switching to a multidot-spec (balance druid), i encountered a big problem i cant find any fixes on. There is another post on this issue below, but not any answers or solution that would fit me, because disabling all tooltips in combat is not a solution for me.
So, is there any way to remove the tooltips when hovering over nameplate-auras?
Screenshot:https://i.imgur.com/he0ApRQ.png

Thanks in advance, Nola

Edit: I fixed my problem by adding some simple lines of code to the plater addon:

hooksecurefunc(GameTooltip,"SetUnitAura",function(self,unit,index,filter)
--local caster = select(8,UnitAura(unit,index,filter))
if InCombatLockdown() and string.find(unit, "nameplate") then
self:Hide()
end
end)

Cast Bar Color not applying properly

Just thought I'd mention that in v2 of the 8.0 addon, "Cast Bar Color" is not being applied, for spells that can be interrupted, it is using "Cast Bar Color No Interrupt". I guess UnitChannelInfo and UnitCastingInfo have been changed, as both are affected.

In case anyone else is wondering, you can't skin friendly players nameplates in dungeons etc. Blizzard disabled that feature. Only works in the open world.

Party/Group Nameplates?

I believe at this point I've touched every single setting I can find in the options to address this issue. No matter what I click or change, the Party & Group Nameplates refuse to reskin/style the same way as all the other nameplates in the game using Plater. Is there something I'm missing to get Plater to apply to Party/Group Nameplates?
