LilSparky's Workshop  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 119release
by: lilsparky [More]

LilSparky's Workshop adds auction-derived pricing information for trade skills right into the trade skill recipe frame. Each skill is evaluated for material costs and potential value of the item created. These two numbers are listed next to each skill in an easy-to-read format.

Supported Auction Scanners:

* Auctioneer
* AuctionLite
* AuctionMaster
* Auctionator

Trade Skill Interfaces Supported:

* GnomeWorks
* AdvancedTradeSkillWindow
* Skillet
* Blizzard's Standard UI
* Doublewide Tradeskills
* Tradeskill HD
* MrTrader
* Jobber

Optionally Requires:

* Informant
* LibPeriodicTable
(these mods will assist in identifying vendor sourced items)

Auction pricing models can be selected by right-clicking either the value column or the cost column (each can have a different pricing method attached).

The Value column can be left clicked to cycle through the different valuation methods for the resultant item: Auction Value (a), Vendor Value (v), Disenchant Value (d) or the greatest of the three different values (the default). Any instance of an item Value being greater than the Cost to create it will have a highlighted Value entry. Optionally, the Value column can be displayed as a percentage of the Cost column.

The Cost column simply sums up the costs for each reagent and reports the total.

Both columns can be combined into a single "Profit" column which simply reflects the Value minus the Cost.

Tooltips for each column give more details about the price breakdowns LSW is considering.

Right clicking on the cost column will bring up a menu offering the ability to override item price and vendor availability on a per-reagent basis.

Did you do this somehow or is it an other version of ATSW ?
that's an old version of atsw -- before enchanting was folded into the normal tradeskill api in the 3.0 wow patch.

hey sparky,

would it overly complicate things to add a "LSW:<cost>" line to every item tooltip? in the same way that Auctioneer adds a "Market Price : <value>" line.

the way your addon calculates costs of things is as fundamental idea as auctioneer's determining server norms for values.

right now when i want to see the cost of an item i have to log in the crafter and open up his skillet (i've switched from ATSW because of your great skillet version) window. luckily i can have my AH alt open on a second account while i have the crafting toon on.

i'm guessing the main complicating factor would be knowing the materials required on non-crafters. how persistant is the price cache data? could it be made more permanant?

once again thanks for all the effort you put into these addons.

Anti

ps - i have had issues with the most recent versions of your addons and AckisRecipieList . its possible the version i have of Ackis needs updating. currently i have disabled it and will investigate a newer version tomorrow.

i've been considering something like this -- including the connecting prices to recipes. so you could look at a recipe you're thinking of purchasing and see what it costs do craft and how much the item might be worth.

but you're right when you wonder about the caching of recipes. lsw doesn't really save much of the data it caches... but you could fill the cache manually by examining the skills you're interested in, and then they'd exist for tooltip insertion.

but for now, since you're using my version of skillet, you don't need to log in your other toon, you can access their crafting directly from skillet. left-click the name of the character on the skillet frame and you can select the crafter toon and trade for browsing (and even queue manipulation). and for that matter you can also view the entire list of all skills via the "all data" entry in the alt selection menu.

edit: yeah, update arl. i think we discovered a problem recently that should fix the issue. at least, if it's the one i think it is.

Alternatively, you could use Altoholic to browse through your toons.
It also has a feature to syncronize data on different accounts.

Cost info not lining up!

Hey Sparky

Thanks for this addon. Still on a learning curve with all this. I am having problems with the addon lining up the cost info with the items in the standard wow trade window.

I have tried both version 09 and version 08. With 09 it has problems seeing a vender price list. If I delete version 09 and install version 08 that works fine again. But both have problems lining up information, sometimes its out side the frame altogether.

It also does not work with other addons like Enhanced Trade Window. Which it did for some time. Tried a few of these and at best I can make out an 'a' just on the outer part of the trade window.

I hope you can sort this out.

Question...

Is there a way to get the addon to show how many of an item are in the AH as of last scan?

Would make it much easier to know which items are saturated in the market at that time.

If not how hard would it be to add in something like that?

the version at curse has that feature. if you hit alt, it'll show you the # of auctions (and the number of items in your current inventory).

i haven't uploaded that version here because it's still got some issues... tho maybe i should cuz i swear people download from one place then post on another. it makes things really confusing when they're commenting about a different version!

edit:
okay the r72 revision is now here for downloading.

When Auctioneer finished scanning AH, LSW exploded... don't know why. None of the crafting windows was open.

Hey lilsparky, love the addon and thanks for your work on it. Given the confusion of different versions at different sites issue, what are the official sites that you have designated to host your addon? I often update through Curse and will adjust my settings to ignore updating from there if wowinterface is where we should be getting your stable releases.

Thanks again for a great addon and keep up the fantastic work!

i develop at wowace.com those versions are generally alpha quality -- might have some bugs fixed and might have new ones introduced. curse gets the beta. once it's stable, i'll fire it over here.

with this mod, i changed up my versioning numbers to do revisions based on the svn commit instead of trying to come up with arbitrary number designations...
