PocketPlot 3.0!

PocketPlot has gone through a much needed, and long-awaited, rewrite! See the change log tab for a list of all changes in 3.0, including why I removed custom blip textures.

Features:
  • different shapes for your minimap (now 25!)
  • thin, black border (customizable color/alpha/thickness)
  • border and clock/coords have options to be colored by class
  • optional support for !ClassColors
  • moved and streamlined mail/bg/voice/LFG icons
  • moved zone text
  • option to hide zone text
  • hide tracking button (use shift-right-click on minimap to open menu)
  • SharedMedia support for fonts
  • zoom with mousewheel
  • hides map button, zoom in/out buttons, etc.
  • moved and streamlined clock
  • option to disable the clock
  • coordinates display (click coords to toggle world map, shift-click to send coords to chat)
  • "smart" coords/clock display (change positions depending on what's shown), can show below or above minimap **now with offsets
  • ability to move other frames related to the minimap (durability, vehicle seat indicator, instance difficulty/guild flag)
  • can also move WorldStateAlwaysUpFrame (top-center of screen status display)
  • right-click the minimap to toggle showing the in-game calendar (default flashing ? still shows for new calendar invites)
  • can change the alpha/transparency of the minimap
  • option to hide the minimap in combat and/or pet battles
  • option to display cursor coordinates on the world map
  • each character has a choice of using either a global or character specific profile

Looking for something to move and/or modify the quest tracker? Check out Who Framed Watcher Wabbit?

FAQ:

Is there a slash command?
/pocketplot and /pp

How do I move the minimap or other frames?
In the PocketPlot config window, enable the mover for the frame you wish to reposition in the movers menu. Drag it wherever you wish. When finished, select "None" from the movers menu to get rid of the blue anchor. You can use the "Nudge" buttons to move a frame by one pixel at a time in any direction.

Where can I find more fonts?
For further font choices, I suggest the SharedMedia addon. Have a font you want to use that's not in there? Read the "Instructions for MyMedia.txt" file in the SharedMedia folder.

How can I move the tower capture bars?
I have opted to not support moving those, as it's a PITA to do so. I suggest the mods Capping or SSPVP3 for all of your pvp needs (including moving the capture bars and score frame).

How can I give feedback?
Feel free to leave your comments/questions here, but all bug reports and feature requests need to go to my portal if you want me to remember to do them.

Can I use your code/blips?
All use of my code and custom blips separate from PocketPlot must be for your own personal use and they may not be redistributed separate from the addon. You may use snippets of my code in addons you intend to distribute only after receiving permission, and credit must be given.

Can I redistribute your addons?
My addons may only be redistributed in UI compilations, and any mention of the addon must point to its download page or my portal, both on wowinterface.

- little code/options clean-up/rearranging

v.3.2
- fix for tracking menu
- updated for Torghast's new Hybrid Minimap
--- as a result, settings for frame strata and frame level have been removed (since the Minimap, Hybrid Minimap and the PocketPlot background have to sandwich with each other)

v. 3.1.3
- update for 9.0
- fixed backdrop errors

v. 3.0.2
- update for map API changes in BfA

v. 3.0.1
- fix bug with moving frames

v. 3.0
- PocketPlot 3.0!

- options now split out into separate Lua file
- added option to hide minimap during pet battles

- fixed bug with calendar invite texture

------------------------------------------------

- re-enabled the feature

v.2.18.2
- update TOC for 7.1

v.2.17.1
- fixed lib issue

v.2.17
- updated for Legion
- 2 new minimap shapes
- added shortcuts and optimizations to the coords frame
- temporarily disabled custom blip textures (had the textures all updated, then realized the UI was using a different file now - will be fixed up soon)

- updated minimap blip textures
- added new minimap shape: "Half Round"

v.2.15
- updated TOC number for 5.4

v.2.10
- Updated for Cataclysm!
- new minimap blip textures, supporting all icons
- font preview in options, using AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets

The background and border on the mail icon are already hidden. In fact, the mail icon is changed to a different texture even. Methinks you should look at whatever is interfering with it.

Feature Request

Hi, I love your addon, it's exactly what I want in a minimap addon The only thing I'd like to change is the fact that I prefer the Blizzard icons to the default ones, so every time PocketPlot is updated I have to go back in and re-change the icon path.

Is there any way you can record the icon set preference somewhere so that the changes stick?

I'll still use this addon if this change doesn't happen, it's just a nice little feature I'd love to see in it ^^

Just what I need in a minimap addon. Thanks! <3 <3

This isn't really an explicit feature request, more of a general question, so that's why I'm not submitting it. Have you thought of adding the ability to move the zone text and clock/coords vertically?

With pMinimap (which is now dead) for example, you were able to move the zone text so it could be inside or outside the map itself. Since I prefer outside, I turned off the zone text in PocketPlot, so it's not really a big deal, just wondering.

Also, was it the moving of the quest tracker that was causing the bugs? I noticed that specific one is gone in the newest version.

I've thought of it... But never really felt the need to add it. It's occasionally in the back of my mind, though. I'll consider adding an option to have it above the map if clock/coords are at the bottom.

I'm not sure what bugs you are referring to. The two noted as fixed in the changelog? PocketPlot hasn't touched the WatchFrame since Blizzard added the movable quest tracker in patch 3.1. When Blizzard further tweaked the quest tracker to its current incarnation, I created Who Framed Watcher Wabbit? to handle it, which is linked on the description page of PocketPlot.

Thanks for such an awesome addon, it's the best I've found so far that has everything I want in a minimap without having to configure through a lua file and that's still up to date.

Also agreed, a way to move the zone text and clock/coords would be lovely.

Great Simple Addon - one Feature Request

Would love to be able to move the coords and clock onto the map bottom. Maybe you can put in a Y slider that adds the option of positioning these items to overlay the map instead of outside the map above and below? Great mod.

A few issues have popped up for 4.3. LFDSearchStatus was renamed to LFGSearchStatus (line 314, easy fix for the LUA error), and my colors/settings were all wonky. Deleting all of the SV files for a quick reconfig seems adequate to fix that though.

Yep, I have a fix for the LFGSearchStatus, but was fixing up the blip textures before uploading. (Blizz added enough new textures that now the blips require a larger texture size, changing all the texture coordinates and requiring new textures.) Will be up sometime tonight.

DurabilityFrame

I use the PocketPlot mover for DurabilityFrame to reposition it in my UI. It worked since months but today I realized that the frame doesnt show the damaged armor parts anymore. UI reload didnt fix it. Is this a known problem? What can i do?

I'm pretty sure that it worked for me the other day. I logged into my bank toon after the patch and her robe was at 0 durability for some reason. The durability man was showing, and I thought it showed the chest as being red. Disable all other addons but PocketPlot and try again.

Thumbs down Quick Question

I've been using PocketPlot for awhile now, though I am guessing this was before you updated to PocketPlot 2.0. It was nice for setting up my UI the way I wanted/needed it so I kept it.

However, when farming ore and herbs, the icons on the minimap were almost too small to see, as I have vision problems.

Are the icons in this version of PocketPlot larger than the original version's icons were when it comes to nodes on the minimap? Or if they aren't by default, is there a way to make them larger?

I would love to continue with PocketPlot, but with my vision slowly getting worse, it is becoming impossible to use it for farming without either larger icons, or at least a way to make them larger.

Thanks in advance for answering this question.
