StatStain  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 66237
by: Nymbia [More]

StatStain is an Ace2 mod that allows for custom colorization of specific stats in item tooltips.

It can be configured with any universal Ace2 configuration addon (such as DeuceCommander or Niagara), or through the slash command /statstain.

There is also a custom pattern search for advanced users.

For all who are looking for a replacement addon, check out ShinyStats. Looks to be the same basic thing, but updated for 4.0.x. Hope it helps

yeah, i like using Statstain to, never found anything to replace it, the main problem is the tooltips doubling up and it seems to do it with bag mods, like Bagnon, and Ackinventory, any up date to this or some to recommend a replacement would be nice

seems to do it with drop rates to, kinda annoying really, get to much in mobinfo and it will make the tooltip to long...

Statstain doesn't seem to be supported anymore since there hasn't been a comment by the author in over a year and the mod itself is no longer available on curse.com. I really like it and still use it, but on the off chance that the author still does want to maintain it, I'd just like to report that it makes bagnon's tooltips function report double entries for everything. It's a minor inconvenience... so maybe the fix would be minor, idk.

For instance if one were to hover over their hearthstone, it would display the normal hearthstone information in the tooltip, plus, normally, bagnon's tooltip would create an entry to show that

Toon A Bags:1
Toon B Bank:1
Toon C Bags:1
Toon D Bags:1

with statstain enbabled the tooltip reports:

Toon A Bags:1
Toon B Bank:1
Toon C Bags:1
Toon D Bags:1
Toon A Bags:1
Toon B Bank:1
Toon C Bags:1
Toon D Bags:1

This it get kinds cluttery. Anyway, just like I said, on the off chance the author is still maintaining this mod... Nice stuff otherwise, absolutely love it.

Just throwin' some love your way! I've been using this since it came out and can't tell you how much easier it is to just glance at gear and know who it's intended for.

Lovin' it! Thanks for the addon!

LinkWrangler compatability

Hi,

I'm not sure if StatStain is still being maintained but...

I notice that it used to support LinkWrangler - before LW started using dynamic tooltips

Would it be possible to update StatStain to support the new LinkWrangler tooltips?

Ace addons aren't supposed to require the Ace core files but just in case I downloaded Ace2 and even copied its libraries into StatStain's library folder (After all, there's no folder for AceDebug-2.0 present) - no effect.

What am I missing here?

EDIT: I was making things more complicated than they had to be; I simply erased the reference to AceDebug-2.0 on line 20 and everything works beautifully now. You should fix that then re-upload!
Bah, how did that sneak in there? Thanks

The latest version worked correctly in my limited testing for bonuses. The drawback to the fix is that other tooltip-modification addons may now cause lines not to be colored (StatStain will now process the tooltip after most other addons, instead of before) -- let me know if you run into anything like this.
