Perl Classic Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 10.05
by: Global [More]

If you like this mod, please vote for it!

What is Perl Classic?
Perl Classic Unit Frames are a complete rewrite of the original mods by Perl. They replace the default Player, Pet, Target, Target of Target, Party, and Party Pet frames and add dedicated frames for many other units (Focus, Focus Target, Party Target, Target of Target of Target). It has been a high priority to maintain the look and feel or the original Perl mods while expanding functionality. The mod has been recoded for performance and is built around the Blizzard UI usage of events.

Q&A
-----

Q: I'm seeing double party buffs for some reason, what gives?
A: 99% of the time this is caused by CT_PartyBuffs. Simply remove the mod and you will return to having one set of party buffs.

Q: I am having massive dead spots for clicking on some of the unit frames, what's wrong?
A: This can be caused by a number of mods, but the most common seems to be CT_MovableParty. Please remove this mod as Perl can be moved without the use of this mod.

Q: The default party frames are showing up with red lightning bolts. What's going on?
A: As of version 1.503 of CT_RaidAssist this should no longer be caused by CTRA. The settings for this are now located in the WoW settings under Interface Options -> Basic -> Raid -> Hide Party Interface.

Q: Do you support ArcaneBar?
A: Yes, it is included in your download of Perl Classic.

Q: Will you be adding any features to Perl_PlayerBuff?
A: No, my coding for this mod goes as far as making sure it 'works.' If anyone would like to expand upon it, feel free to do so.

Q: Where are the raid frames?
A: As of 2.0 I no longer code raid frames for Perl Classic. Luckily, X-Perl's raid frames work great alongside Perl Classic. X-Perl's raid frames (and the unit frames themselves) can be found here: http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/3416/

Q: The scaling is all messed up! What do i do?
A: I recommend setting the scale to that of the UI if you are having issues. Open the options menu via "/perl" or the Black Pearl icon on the minimap and set the scale accordingly under the "All" tab.

Q: I am having an issue not listed in this FAQ, what can I do?
A: First, update *every* mod. I do not support ancient outdated and unmaintained mods. If you have double checked that everything is up to date, post on any of the Perl Classic mod pages and I'll be glad to help you narrow down the issue or give suggestions to help find a solution.

Q: Can you add this feature?
A: I'm sure it's possible, but the primary purpose of this mod is to 'modernize' the original Perl mod so that it doesn't slow your game down.

That bug was suppossed to be fixed in 2.07a. Are you running the latest verison? If so, can you delete your Perl folders and install the mod again?

I just tried to recreate this error and didn't have any luck. Could you try deleting your Perl folders and download a fresh copy from Curse and seeing if it still happens?

Buff/Debuff timer

Is it possible to change the Buff/Debuff timer so that instead of it being a countdown radius it shows the countdown in numbers?

As far as I know, you just have to install a cooldown mod, such as OmniCC, which can be found here: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...fo.php?id=4836

buff timers on party buffs

is it possible to have the buff timers showing on the party buffs?... so i don't have to target each party member to check the timer left on the forts or arcane intellects etc etc.

I could do this, but without adding another option to disable the timers from cooldown mods hooking into it, it would be disastrous for many people running it at the default size. In other words, I won't be adding this right now as I'm focusing on my Perl Classic rewrite more than new features for the current version.

Perl_Player_Buff integration?

To the author:
Been using Perl for a long time now and love it. Long ago Perl_Party_Pet was a separate add-on and so was Perl_Player_Buff.

You've had Perl_Party_Pet integrated for a while but have yet to do so with Perl_Player_Buff... I'm still doing my own .toc updates on the old Perl_Player_Buff code (available at: http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/downl...wnloads/28999/) and would love to see this as a part of your re-write. I just like having my own buff icons with the rest of my party's buff icons -- it conserves space, provides one place to look for things on the UI, etc.

Please consider this a suggestion. I'm making it now only because I fear breakage of the Perl_Player_Buff codebase -- it's quite old now and Blizz has made a lot of changes since its creation.

Combat Popup

Hi all,

I just installed and try this mod out. So far, its looking very good. However....

When a combat start, another frame pop up that I have no clue how to turn it off. If you could help identify the name of this frame, it would help alot. Thanks

@Phoul: I'll never add it to the core zip for Perl, but I will make sure it keeps "working" as long as I'm around.

@PHLN: Looks to be your pet's target. You can turn that off under the Player Pet options.

Hello, I love your mod its one of my favorites, however there is a problem of mine that I can't seem to figure how to fix.

That option for you to hide the party when your in a raid works, but the mod still shows the party's targets. Now is there a way to get rid of the party's targets when you hide the party in a raid?
