Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

yeah. i just started using this mod as a replacement to pitbull3 and 4. no idea how you have made this mod use so little memory but many thanks for that! also it's been over 2hours and i am still nowhere near done tweaking this. my own fault i assure you as i like things just so-so for my OCD.

THANK YOU! again this mod has options out the ying-yang and takes so little memory... just wow.

hello again.

can you help me set the player conditional for afk. i have been trying to set this with a text pattern for my player text7. i failed of course. also trying to set the conditional like default player text6 for afk to be like ghost conditional to go grey as well.

edit...

still trying with using the tag editor help but still failing lol.

one thing i do not see listed in the editor help is level texts like + elite, R rare, or R+ rare elite. this i can do without in the long run but the above afk tagis tearing at my OCDs to try and get done right.

Hi, first time user here.
Whenever I try to enable player buff icons, WOW crashes.

A few posts down you say that it might be a lowend system that can't handle it.
Would like to know what min. specs should be used to run these unitframes.
Currently I have a 3GHz Dualcore with 4GB Ram and a GF8800.

that happened to me as well (wow freezing , didn't crash anything else though). i am also running satrina buff frames. i turned off sbf and then had no issue with buffs/debuffs on any frames. i have sbf on again since i prefer it for handling that.

edit...

forgot to mention that now even with sbf on i have yet to have clicking the "hide" tic for hiding or showing buffs cause that one time issue.

Additional Feature ??

I love this unit frame mod, great job on it. It is so much more customizable then any other out there with regards to moving and placing things where you want them.

There is only one thing I found this is lacking. When not in combat/targeting/regening health or mana I like to have my bars completely hidden. The one option this is missing is that if I am not full health/mana the bars still disappear.

Could you look at adding a feature that allows to set opacity if health or mana is not full? Pitbull does have this so not sure if you could implement it also or not. That would make this addon rock even more then it does now.

Keep up the good work

heads up re: 3.3

The new cross-server LFG system adds icons to player portraits to indicate what role they were chosen for (tank, heal, or dps):
http://i49.tinypic.com/2hfua8g.jpg

It would be a nice touch to see Stuf recognize this icon in 3.3 and allow it to be used.

Already added in the latest release of Stuf. For the next version waiting for 3.3, I've added more options and optimized it.

Sounds like something I'm not going to add to Stuf.

Been messing with this on the PTR for a few hours now and I'm loving it, thanks for the hard work. A few questions:

1. I think it was last patch that Blizzard added a special border for casts that can't be interrupted. Is this feature supported and if so, where?

2. I had Stuf Raid disabled as I plan to use Grid2. It wasn't until I enabled this Stuf Raid that I think I found the MT/MA Frames. Any chance these frames could be a part of the main addon rather than Stuf Raid?

3. What are the Boss and Boss Target Frames... as in what mods support them?

4. Is it possible to change the art for the icons (Leader, ML, PVP flagged etc)?

Just came form using X-Perl and i absolutely love this mod, no way ill be going back to the bloated side

But one thing. there's no frame around the targets picture to indicate weather its elite/rare, the text you have to display that works fine, but the visual is quicker to notice.

If its indeed built in can someone point me in the right direction? or is there a compatible mod that adds them?

thanks

1. That will be denoted as a "X" for 3.3.
2. Nope, MT/MA frames only appears in raid.
3. 3.3 new WoW feature (see patch notes).
4. Nope.

Those textures are full images used around WoW's default unit frames; it's not just the dragon section. You can use a mod like kgPanels to display any texture anywhere.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I asked about the MT/OT config is because I've just gone back to this and I'm sad to say it's nowhere near as intuitive as the rest of these splendid frames.

For example there's none of the fantastic copy from features present elsewhere (I'm trying to make my MT list the same design as my Pets and ToT frames) and the config mode doesn't label anything, so trying to work out what I'm actually editing is pure trial and error. Coupled with there being no running BG's on the PTR's to easily get a raid and I hope you can see my frustration.

I hope this doesn't sound too negative or ungrateful as I adore these UF's and everywhere else the UI has been a joy to work with.

Hi.
I'am having trouble with targets/target that I hope someone can help me with.
Firstly I'am new to Stuf and having been using another interface which featured Pitbull.
I just recently changed to Stuf but am now stuck.
On Pitbull I could click on my targets/target, ie: what the tank was looking at and in most cases the skull target, click on it and it would now become my target.
So if tank was looking at skull in a new frame, I'd click the skull frame and it would now become my target.
A a hunter it was perfect, cast misdirect on tank, click on his target, mark it and ready for dps knowing I'am hitting the right thing.
On Stuf I cant seem to replicate this at all.
When I click on targets/target all my target windows disapear and thats it.
When I see my targets/target thats all I can do, is look at it.
I cant target it for dps.
So I'am obliviously doing something wrong but I have no idea what.
Thanks for any help given

Stuf and StufRaid are independent of each other. In StufRaid, there's "Preview Groups," which will show you the locations and space each frame will take. "Preview Unit Layout" will show you how a single frame will look. If you can customize Stuf, StufRaid should be cake. Of course there are other alternatives for Raid/MT/MA frames.

The base frame is what receives clicks. Check its dimensions and location. Click on "Toggle Highlighter" or give the base frames a border/background.

I have borders on all my frames so maybe not that.
I'll check the background out.
Still puzzled why I cant targets/target though.
My target frame works fine so my targets/target should appear in there as my new target when clicked.
