GridStatusHealthFade  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5.0.0.1
by: Saiket [More]

GridStatusHealthFade adds a status to the Grid unit frame add-on that changes color based on units' health. (Originally written by North101)

The status can be configured with two colors to blend from max health to no health. By default, the color will fade from green at max health to bright red at low health.

  • 5.0.0.1: Fixed a bug where Grid frames wouldn't reflect settings changes until their health values changed.
  • 4.3.0.2: Significantly improved responsiveness of health values.
  • 4.3.0.1: Bumped TOC for 4.3.
  • 4.2.0.1: Bumped TOC for 4.2.
  • 4.1.0.1: Bumped TOC for 4.1.
  • 4.0.0.2: No longer removes the health color in special cases. Dead units now show 0%, and units with unknown health show 100%.
  • 4.0.0.1: Updated to Ace3 for compatibility with Grid r1360-alpha.
  • 3.3.5.1: Removed a leftover global reference to GridRoster.
  • 3.3.0.2: Removed global reference to GridStatus for compatibility with Grid 1.30300.1290.
  • 3.3.0.1: Bumped TOC for 3.3.
  • 3.2.0.1: Bumped TOC for 3.2.
  • 3.0.8.1: Initial release.

GridStatusHealthFade is just a status for Grid; you'll need to enable it and assign it to the "Health Bar Color" to make it look the same as the picture.

I can't find any good tutorials on how to do that, but I could take some screenshots if you need them.

Here are four steps to get it set up like that. Open "/grid config", and go to the options sections listed in the screenshot (i.e. "Grid -> Status -> Health Fade" for the first step.) Just enable the checkboxes like in the screenshots.

The update is not working properly. While it shows and changes the health % number it does not change the actual bar color like it used to.

What version of Grid are you using? I'm using version r1361 and it seems to still work alright for me. Do you have Lua errors enabled, in case GridStatusHealthFade is breaking somewhere? Also, are you sure you still have the status assigned to the health bar color indicator?

I was using 1361 and no options in Grid were changed from when it worked before. I checked and re-checked as well as deleting the configuration lua files. I haven't checked lua errors.

Currently updated to Grid r1368 - will have to check it out in the morning.

Checked it out now since I was on the PC anyway. No LUA errors and HealthFade is set up proper - checked for Healing Bar Color under indicators, Center Text 2 (which works) Center Icon and enabled under Status>Healthfade. Disabling there removes it from the Center Text 2 but nothing else changes. Health Bar Color Indicator under Frame is also enabled along with Center Text 2 under Frame.

It just doesn't seem to want to apply to the health bar.

Got it to work this morning. The "Unit Health" option was checked under Health Bar Color.

Hi. This addon is quite helpful - I'd been looking for something like this for a while.

Is there any way to make it blend from, say, green to yellow to red?

The plugin can only blend between a min and max color for now, so going from green directly to red is your best option.
