Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 8.0.1.1
by: Phanx [More]

Grid has been continued as Plexus by Doadin. Use that instead; Grid has not been updated since 2018 and will not be updated in the future.

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.
The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

Hi,

I'm having a problem with player's health bars turning black after they die (when they're rezzed back alive). I have health class color set to priority 95, death to 90, and out of range to 85, but I'm still having this issue some reason. Any suggestions?

I hope that's not the case, but I can't find any new stuff from the authors...it's like they've just disappeared.
If this version of Grid is working on the PTR for 3.02, then it will (or at least should...) work in WotLK when it is released, since the code is the same. That's one of the main reasons for the 3.02 patch - to make the underlying code changes before releasing the expansion with all its new content.

try increasing the padding around the unit frames, then click inside the padding, but not on the actual unit to move the frame.

This has probably been asked, but I've read around alot in this thread and can't seem to find an answer, I've also tried several addons and none of them provided the feature I wanted.

Is there a way to save the Grid Frame sizes for different Raid sizes?

Basically what I want to do is this, for a 40 man raid I want the Frame Widths to be 40, however when I join a 20 person raid for example, I have much more room on my screen and I'd like to set the Frame Widths to say 65. I'd like it if my Frame Widths adjusted automatically depending on the size of Raid I am in.

Would this be at all possible, or perhaps there is a plugin that does it..or am I just over looking a feature already implemented??

Grid no longer appears as a button on my minimap :(

Hi!

I just started using Grid and I made a beginners mistake I'm afraid. I unchecked the enable option. So now Grid is gone. And I don't know how to bring it back. I have tried disabling and enabling it in the add-ons menu of WoW. I've tried taking Grid out of the addons folder in the WoW folder and putting the original folder then in its place. I've tried updating, but I have the latest version.
I saw others asking the same question. But there's no reply to them. So I ask it myself. Sorry to bother anyone! Hope you can help.
Thanks!
Estelien

I've tested to turn off ALL addons except Grid and it's still the same.

I've latest version.
I recremend you make a macro like this:
Code:
/cast [target=mouseover] Divine Favor
 or /cast [target=player] Divine Favor
And bind that macro to your mouse button. I do not now Paladins, so I dunno what kind of spell Divine Favor is, but I recommend you try these respective macros, and bind them to your key if it works.

I, as well, would like to see a fix for the blue hand when a cast attempt is done on someone who is not in LoS... Or at least a way to tell that they are "in range" but out of LoS so I am not wasting my time trying to cast spells on those folks.
But other than that - it's a GREAT addon, and I wish I had started using it a long long time ago.

Same Problem here... how can I move this great Addon around?

Thanks for help... Namica

// Found out: You have to go UNDER the Frame, then you can move it with your left mouse button. Simple...

Just wondering:

Would it be possible at some point to add custom Targets?

Meaning selecting specific raid members and putting them in one custom group so they are all together.

I have asked this question is the past but never had a response.

Regards

i will try again to tell what i need, maybe i will get answer and also i hope i will get understanded better

please..
1. make maximum frame width bigger then 100 (i may use even 250 in party)
2. make it possible to arrange units on 2 lines, or add maximum units per line
3. please make a posibility to chose the way the grids are affected on mouse-over, because the curent mouse over modification make it harder to see the health of the player bar that need a heal.
4. i would like the square of the debufs to be added one for every debuff.
5. make it possible to chose to not display the debufs that are short duration, unharmful, or uncurable.
6. i would love a feature to chose between profiles of arranging units, that has to include frame width/ heigth, position of the entire grid of players, and the arrange rule.
7. and finaly, the problem that i came for on this forum:
when i click to cast with clique adon on a party frame that is out of range, i get the gray hand instead of the spell canceled. i must say that this behaviour is the same as with the default party frames, but i would really like to get the behaviour with the spell canceled instead of the normal wow behaviour.
