DisableMinimapTarget

Version: 1.0
by: Rilgamon [More]

Replaces the "new" Targetsymbol on minimap with an empty graphic to keep the mapcenter usable.

This will not work with other addons replacing images on your minimap like Chinchilla.

/setdmt 1 -- Disable Targetcross/Focuscircle and blips
/setdmt 2 -- Disable Targetcross/Focuscircle (Default)
/setdmt 3 -- Disable Targetcross
/setdmt debug -- Toggle debug

1.0 Mai/06/11

- Added commands to switch debug and displaymode

0.5 Mai/01/11

- Fixed copy&paste error using the same graphicspath for both images

0.2 Apr/28/11

- Remove the cross for partymembers, too

I hope there is a fix cause blizzards icones are awful! lol
The addon is obsolete now.

The functionality is included in the minimap itself now. You can disable the icons in the tracking options
Well that's too bad, it was a great addon and nice while it lasted. And by diabling them you lose any ability to track target.
Not sure what you mean. I used the original images and only deleted the target and focus icon. And the same can now be done without my addon.

You'd have to disable Chinchilla's Tracking Dots because it overwrites the same setting.
So you have to decide which image you want to load. Or you can open your paint-program and change the image included in Chinchilla so you dont need my addon. Perhaps you can ask the author of Chinchilla to offer this as an option
Thanks! I'll probably just disable the tracking dots feature

This addon has no settings. It works out of the box by replacing the graphics for the minimap. It will hide the target-cross but not the circle representing your target. Not sure what I should write in a readme

I think what I was seeing is this, when in a party the party members when targeted have the large icon. When I clicked other non party and NPC's while still in a party, it's the small one. I went back to your first version for the above. I am going to try your 4th one and see how that works as soon as the restart is over.

wish there was an addon to make it so all bag's didn't open too.
You need a full restart to make wow aware of the graphic files that come with this addon.
The bag stuff is done but the addon is "messy" ... I was not sure if I should upload. But if you can live with an ugly addon ... take a look at

Ok, looked a little deeper. Green boxes mean the file was not found/loaded.
You need to restart wow for this addon.

I dont use map addons. Perhaps those of you who have problems use a mapreplacement ?

I uploaded v.4 with Morskers debug-code active and delayed the start to ADDON_LOADED.

Another addon could be calling SetBlipTexture, etc., and overwriting your change. I'd try something like this:

Code:
local real_SetBlipTexture = Minimap.SetBlipTexture
function Minimap:SetBlipTexture(file)
    geterrorhandler()("Something's overwriting the BlipTexture. :(")
    return real_SetBlipTexture(self, file)
end
Then at least what's overwriting will generate a log in BugSack or whatever, but the change will still go through and it won't break the other mod. I may try this tomorrow since I really want to try out this mod, but I just logged out for today.
