Hey there. Wagthaa here. I'll skip the introduction, as I'm sure you know who I am.

As I am dying to know who is attempting to take over the addon, the addon which has cost me endless amounts of time, missed parties, pissed off friends, annoyed family and even a *sorta*girlfriend or two, I thought I would get some questions out of the way:

Why didn't you attempt to contact me?
I'm still answering PMs on Curse and WoWInterface provided, of course, that the answers can't be found by googling for a minute or two...

Are you a software developer? And more importantly can you code?
I am asking you this due to the fact that the things you have changed in the code so far requires little to no programming skills. Most is simple list entries, with a couple changes to some virtual movers. Other than that it's only removing some comments and changing some indentation.

What's your age?
Odd question I know, but it's often inverse to sustainability.

Do you have any idea of what you are getting into?
Like really? Like really really?

Do you have the time it will take to support the community?
(Very time consuming, even when not fixing issues and developing new features. Eventually leads to getting fed up answering the same questions over and over again. Cancelling your account just to make it go away will be alluring)

Do you have the time to debug reported issues, many of which you can't reproduce?
(Ends up taking loads of time. I still have more than a few on my todo list, even after endless rewrites of the likely culprit code)

Once you have spend 8 hours on a day on activities covered by the last two questions, do you still have the time to get the actual code done?
(Surprisingly and sadly the least time consuming activity) (Ever since I made the new core of MoveAnything that is)

Have you thought it through? Do you have any plans for the addon or are you just winging it at the moment?

Will you keep the addon, any derivatives and updates available to everybody for free, as in no charge, no subscription, for ever?
Keep in mind that donations is non existant, so don't bet on them. (I think I got 12 over the years vs. 5k+ hours giving a grand totalt of <0.01€ per hour spend )

The reason I'm asking all this is that, even though I'm not currently playing, I've been working on a new release. So far it's mostly minor fixes, much like your first 7 patch versions, but some new virtual movers as well as further stability improvements.

Planned release was as always as soon as possible after the pre-MoP patch hit PTR, as it's damn hard to test when not in the beta(Blizzard doesn't seem too keen to let me into their betas, much as it seems they take delight in screwing over the addon every other patch) (I actually developed a earlier version mailing new code to a user on this site so he could test it, was impractical as hell and decided against it this time around. Even so I would like the opportunity to thank Biteme_nfs again, was above and beyond mate!).

Meh, I am out of time for now, so I''l have to cut it short... Oh, looks like it's too late for that

If you can convince me that you can and really want to do this, I will gladly pass on the reigns. If not, I'll not stand idly by as my addon love affair is trashed. (Even if it means paying sub to a game I won't be playing).

I'll be looking forward to your reply. Feel free to PM me, if you should so desire.

I'm not the fan that did the update but...

Yes, I have been a senior software engineer (telecom and aerospace, primarily systems software and server stuff, mainly on Unix/Linux, C C++ and Python/Perl/shell glue) and am now a test group manager.

Very aware. I have run lots of large projects with insufficient staff or none at all.

No. I do that at work and would not be a happy camper doing it in my leisure time.

Only to a limited degree if I want to remain sane.

So there you have it. In other words, I know what this takes, I am capable of doing it, but I don't have the time or inclination to lead or "own" this piece of software. So I am most definitely not the person who should take this on. Which leads me to this...

A few things come to mind:

1. I am happy that it looks like MoveAnything will not die when MoP hits, in spite of the new frames, and all the dyniamic frame activation stuff it appears Blizz is doing (quest progress bas, the new extraActionButton frame, etc)

2. I am willing to "gift" a WoW subscription code for a couple of months so getting in-game would not be an issue. I may even have an old alt account that's been sitting dormant I could "loan" to you. I quit that account right at the beginning of Cata, (transferred the only toons worth keeping to my main acct), so it has all but MoP on it. Once I remember the login and password, I could send you the login info if you need an account. And I will gift the subscription to you for a couple of months no matter whether you use your own account or you need me to remember that old account of mine for you to use. PM me about this If you are interested.

3. Could you please post this info over to Curse, since that is where most people get the addon these days?

4. If you need a hand with the code side, basically testing and fixing bugs, I can do that, but not at a large enough volume to sustain thing. PM me if you want to know more.

And last but not least, I am grateful to you for creating and maintaining this addon to help me do what I want to do: simply move stuff where *I* want it without having to install replacement addons.

MoveAnything MoP

Thanx for the update! It has some bugs, but overall it is working for me.

I would like to request a copy of this uploaded to Curse as it seems to be a more stable website, and the client makes updates easier to track.

I would also like to request an option to move the multi person mount seat indicator. If there is a location in the menu then I have simply overlooked it.

Thanx again, this has been my favorite addon since wrath.

Achieve Frames

I'm not sure if this is on Live yet, or just Beta, but the Achievement frame now has another child. For Meta achievements such as Zone Quests, there's a sub frame for each location point. They don't seem attached to the default achievement frame.

.Regards

'Hide Stance Bar' option doesn't work for Rogues: the bar appears after ShDance usage.

Tooltips

Moveanything is suppressing the tooltip for certain items (ie food, flasks, health pots ext) when I have numerous other addons enables. Its suppressing it in the bag and on the actionbars.

When I have everything else enabled and MA disabled it all works fine, the other addons all play nicely together. As soon as MA is thrown in the mix tooltips for consumables is nowhere to be seen.

The addons Im having trouble with so far are Omen threat meter, dominos, baudbag, no duel/drunk spam and badboy. There were others but I gave up logging out to disable them one by one after the first 5 were found because by that point It was obvious the only common denominator was MA.

@Alea:
The appropriate response to this would be
"hey I meant no disrespect, I'll take the fan update down and await an official release".

For those that are clapping their hands happy to see a highly technical (as wow addons go) become "fan update" quality,
because original author didn't update 'on the day' remember your short-sightedness in the future if Wagthaa abandons the project.

WoWi screening process is getting a little lax too I think (though they can't be following every addon comment space for sure, if Wagthaa didn't report this file)

It has something to do with a global taint that can be fixed by making sure all _ variables are local

Thanks for updating it. This is one of the addons that you don't think about after you finish using it to get things where you want but once its broken, you remember how important it is.
