Broker: mDate

Version: 0.21
by: dc_roenfanz [More]

Broker: mDate is a simple AddOn for LibDataBroker.

The purpose is to simply display the date, while giving the user the power to format it how he sees fit. Inlcuded in the config is a list of all available possible date formatting variables.

Although Broker: mDate was originally written with the intent to display the date, the formatting variables allow for a display of time also.

Full formatting guide is as follows:

Code:
%a Abbreviated weekday name (e.g., Wed)
%A Full weekday name (e.g., Wednesday)
%b Abbreviated month name (e.g., Sep)
%B Full Month name (e.g., September)
%c Date and Time (e.g., 09/16/98 23:48:10)
%d Day (e.g., 16) [01-31]
%H Hour, using a 24-hour clock (e.g. 23) [00-23]
%I Hour, using a 12-hour clock (e.g. 11) [01-12]
%M Minute (48) [00-59]
%m Month (09) [01-12]
%p Either "AM" or "PM"
%S Seconds (10) [00-61]
%w Weekday (3) [0-6 = Sunday-Saturday]
%x Date (e.g., 09/16/98)
%X Time (e.g., 23:48:10)
%Y Full year (e.g. 1998)
%y Two-digit year (e.g. 98) [00-99]
%% The character '%'

excellent!

I'm switching over to LDB and I needed a replacement for ClockFu.

This sounds like it will work perfectly, please keep up the good work!

Thanks. It was actually pretty damn easy, but I have too many embedded libraries, for such a dinky addon. I should look at condensing it somehow.

Too lazy >.<

The time isn't actually updating for me when I use it as a clock. it just stays on the same time.

That's really odd. I just tested it, and it's updating for me, just fine.

Here's the exact string I tested, and it updates every second.

Code:
%A, %B %d, %Y | %I:%M:%S %p

I'll try it again when I get back on. Probably just me, I have a billion addons so I will try to work it out.

Seems to be working now. Must have been just me for that particular session or something, hard to tell. Great addon!
